Barry E. Breiner of 172 Spruce St., Tamaqua, who died unexpectedly Monday, served aboard the USS Enterprise as a gunner's mate during his years of active military service.
George Pearse Robinson III
George Pearse Robinson III, 66, of 485 Little Gap Road, Box 105, Aquashicola, died Thursday in the Palmerton Hospital.
Born in Short Hill/Millburn, N.J., he was a son of the late George P.III, and Margorie (Mulvihill) Robinson Ludwig.
He was the tax assessor for Lower Towamensing Tyownship, and was a committee man for the Carbon County Republican Party. He was also a member of the Walnutport VFW.
In addition, he was president of the Graduate Chapter Alpha Chi Rho Fraternity at Lehigh University, where he was a 1952 graduate, with a degree in business administration.
He was past chair on the Board of Supervisors of Lower Towamensing Township, a past member of the Palmerton School Board and past township committee man for Hazlet Township, N.J.
He also was a past member of the Slatington Lions.
He was employed as a self-employed accountant the past 20 years, retiring in 1994.
Surviving is his step-father, Edward D. Ludwig, North Readington Beach, Fl., and two step-brothers, Alan Ludwig of San Diego, Ca., and Edward D. Ludwig of Vancover, Wash.

William Cunningham
J. William Cunningham, 84, formerly of 425 Railroad St., Tamaqua, died Saturday in Manatawny Manor, Pottstown. He was the husband of the late June V. Cunningham.
He as a chief clerk in the Shamokin Division of Reading Railroad for 44 years before retiring.
Born in Tamaqua, he was the son of the late Michael J. and Lucy M. (Mensch) Cunningham.
A 1931 graduate of Tamaqua High School, he was an avid sportsman.
He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, South Ward Fire Company and B.P.O. Elks Club, all of Tamaqua.
Surviving are two daughters, Vivian, wife of Robert Wehry of Norristown, and Gwen, wife of Patrick Davis of Pottstown; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Billy.

Mrs. Eleanor G. Faenza
Mrs. Eleanor G. Faenza, 78, formerly of Lehighton R.2, died Saturday in Weatherwood, the Carbon County Home for the Aged, Weatherly. She was the widow of James P. Faenza, who died in 1994.
She and her husband owned and operated a shoemaker shop in Lehighton.
Born in Jim Thorpe, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Jennie (Weaver) Mench.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Summit Hill.
Surviving are a son, John of Allentown; three daughters, Joan, wife of Elwood Folk of Summit Hill, Susan, wife of Eugene Fritz of Andreas R.1, and Judy Davidson of Athens, Bradford County; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Regina F. Horst, 24, of New England Valley, Tamaqua R.1, died Saturday in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. She was the wife of Stephen E. Horst. They were married in 1994.
Born in Lancaster, she was a daughter of Mervin E. and Kathryn S. (Nolt) Martin of Elizabethtown, Lancaster County.
She was a member of New England Valley Mennonite Church, Tamaqua R.1.
Surviving with her husband and parents is a daughter, Melissa L., at home; paternal grandparents, Aaron K. and Susan (Eby) Martin of Ephrata, Lancaster County; four brothers, Jay, John, Gary and Jerome, all of Elizabethtown; and two sisters, Jeanelle, wife of Ronald Ebersole of Scurry, Tex., and Ann, wife of Brenden Weaver of New Holland, Lancaster County.

Mrs. Paul A. Green
Mrs. Rosemary Green, 54, of 161 Dinkey Church Road, Lehighton, died Sunday in the Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital, Lehighton. She was the wife of Paul A. Green. They would have been married 35 years this month.
She was a sewing machine operator for Scotty's Fashions, Lehighton, for 14 years.
Born in Jim Thorpe, she was a daughter of the late George and Elizabeth Strohl.
She was a member of Dinkey Memorial Lutheran Church, Ashfield.
Surviving with her husband are three daughters, Kathy, wife of Sherwin Haman, and Debra, both of Palmerton, and Sheila of Lehighton; a son, John of Lehighton; two brothers, George of Coaldale, and Robert of Jim Thorpe; a sister, Mrs. Ervin (Georgine) Haupt of Lehighton; and three grandchildren.

Richard M. "Richie" Ahner Jr., 31, of 2129 Long Run Road, Franklin Township, Lehighton, died Sunday at his home.
He was a truck driver for the LaBarre Construction Company, Slatington.
Born in Lehighton, he was a son of Richard Sr. and Barbara (Hines) Ahner, with whom he resided.
He was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Lehighton.
Surviving with his parents is a sister, Wanda of Nesquehoning; and a nephew.

Conrad F. Schultz
Conrad F. "Fred" Schultz, 90, of 460 Princeton Ave., Palmerton, died Friday in Mrs. Bush's Personal Care Center, Kunkletown. He was the husband of the late Kathryn (Herron) Schutlz and the late Josephine (Brubaker) Schultz.
He retired in 1972 after 42 years of service as the manager of contract liaison engineering for the Babock & Wilcox Company, Barberton, Ohio. Previously, he was employed by the former Fuller Lehigh Company, of Fullerton.
Born in Baltimore, Md., he was the son of the late Conrad F. and Rosa (Stolte) Schultz.
He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Palmerton, where he was past treasurer.
He was a member of the board of directors of the Palmerton Hospital for 15 years.
Surviving are two sons, James C. of Akron, Ohio, and Robert W. of Hamburg, N.Y.; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Mary E. Kasper
Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Kasper, 76, of Roseboro, N.C., formerly of Newkirk, Tamaqua R.1, died Saturday at home. She was the wife of Joseph Kasper, who died in 1990.
Born in Pottsville, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Sarah (Hyland) Englert.
She was of the Catholic faith.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Bette Cox of Roseboro and Mrs. Adelle Miller of Allentown; five sons, Charles "Butch" Davis of Roseboro, Edward "Eddie" Davis of Fayetteville, N.C., Harold "Ace" Davis of Lodi, Calif., Paul Kasper of Dunellen, N.J., and Joseph Kasper of Newkirk; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Piech of Coaldale, and Mrs. Anna Neifert of Roseboro; two brothers, Joseph of Newkirk and Walter of Tuscarora; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Albina Moravek
Mrs. Albina "Alice" Moravek, 87, of 33 E. Berea Ave., Summit Hill, died Saturday at the Miners Memorial Medical Center, Coaldale. She was the wife of the late John "Buck" Moravek, who died in 1966.
Born in Biksard, Slovakia, she was a daughter of the late John and Anna (Pavlick) Velitsky.
She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Lansford.
Surviving are four daughters, Christine Andrews and Patricia Fodi, both of Bethlehem, Rosalie Skodacek of Summit Hill, and Marianne Butrie of Lehighton; a brother, John of Summit Hill; a sister, Catherine Jalot of Georgetown, Del.; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two sons, John and Joseph; and three sisters, Mary, Rose and Stephanie.

Moravek survivors - Mrs. Albina "Alice" Moravek, 87, of 33 E. Berea Ave., Summit Hill, who died Saturday, was also preceded in death by three brothers, John, Joseph and Stephen. Their names was inadvertently omitted from yesterday's obituary.
Ford J. Wanamaker
Ford J. Wanamaker, 77, of 5148 Mountain Road, Slatington, died Saturday in St. Luke's Hospital, Allentown campus. He was the husband of the late Evelyn G. (Wertman) Wanamaker.
He was employed by Bethlehem Steel Corp. for 35 years before retiring in 1976. He also worked at Penn Big Bed Slate Company, Slatedale, for many years.
Born in Slatedale, he was a son of the late John and Annie Wanamaker.
He was a Protestant.
Surviving are a daughter, Gladys E., wife of David J. Lloyd of Slatington; a son, Vincent F. of Slatington; two sisters, Norma Costenbater of Aquashicola and Marguerite Herman of New Tripoli; three brothers, Warren T. and Ray D., both of Slatington, and Leroy G. of Fountain Hill; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Lucille A. Kunkle; and a son, Donald K.
Mrs. Blanche E. Lewis
Mrs. Blanche E. Lewis, 93, a guest at Weatherwood, the Carbon County Home for the Aged, Weatherly, and formerly of Maple St., Hazleton, died Saturday morning at the Hazleton-St. Joseph Medical Center. She was the widow of Roy Lewis, who died in 1959.
Before retiring she sewed for Lee Jay Garments of Hazleton.
Born in Hollywood, Luzerne County, she was a daughter of the late Emery and Alice (Sites) Reichert.
She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Hazleton, and the Golden Age Group of the parish.
Surviving are a daughter, Evelyn Gerhart of Weatherly; a son, Ronald of Palm Harbor, Fla.; a sister, Hilda Winters of Madison, N.J.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Ellsworth; five brothers, Emery, Raymond, Leonard, Lester and Howard; two sisters, Leda Wehner and Anna May Reichert; and a grandson.
Marlene Davis
Marlene Davis, 61, of Dallas, Tex., died May 16 in Dallas.
She was a teacher for six years at the St. Bernard's Catholic School and taught for 16 years at the J.J. Rhoads Elementary School.
Born in Coaldale, she was a daughter of the late Rudolph J. and Mary Ann Davis.
She served as a WAC in the U.S. Army from 1954-58, stationed in Orleans, France. She attended classes at the Sorbonne before returning to the United States. She earned her Bachlor's and Master's degrees from North Texas State University, now the University of Texas, Denton, before she began teaching in New York state.
Surviving are two sisters, Margaret Smith of Ava, MO., and Freida Fezza of Passaic, N.J.; and two brothers, Danny Bristol, and Darwin in Yucaipa, Calif.
Services were held May 20 in the Cathedral of Hope MCC, Dallas, Tex.
Charles Burd
Charles Burd, 78, of 166 Dodson St., Mary D, died today in his home. He was the husband of the late Violet (Dodson) Burd.
Prior to his retirement he was a maintenance worker at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Pottsville.
He was a veteran of World War II.
He was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, Brockton, and the Middleport American Legion.
Surviving are a son, Charles Jr. of Moscow, Luzerne County; two grandchildren; a sister, Agnes, wife of Herman Berger of Brockton; and a companion, Jean Barron.
