Anna H. Vicker, 82, of Penn Hills, died on Thursday, July 27, 2000. She is survived by a daughter, Barbara, and her husband Richard Ristway; two brothers , John T. "Hap" Lorence, and Joseph J. Lorence; two sisters , Rosemary Malone, and Theresa Davis; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond A. Vicker and a brother, Andrew Lorence. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday only at SOXMAN FUNERAL HOMES, LTD., ROTH CHAPEL, 7450 Saltsburg Road (at Universal Road) Penn Hills. A Christian Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. John the Baptist Church. Interment will be in Plum Creek Cemetery.

Josephine (Knish) Vukoder, 77, of Greensburg, formerly of Upper St. Clair, succumbed Friday, July 28, 2000. Beloved wife of Tony; caring and loving mother of William, Barry, Debra, and the later Peter; mother -in-law of Velda, Kathleen, Carol, Peter and Karen; devoted grandmother of Amy, Scott, Bernadette M., Justin, Bret, Tyler, Aaron, Conner and Seth; proud great-grandmother of Andrew; loyal sister to Julia Dzura, Ann Ermacoff, John Knish, Martha McNary and the late Bill, Peter and Frances Knish. A memorial service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME INC., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pleasant Hills. Minister Ron Davis will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Congregation of the Jehovah's Witnesses in Jeannette.

Emma M. Wible, 74, of Latrobe, died Thursday, July 27, 2000, in the Latrobe Area Hospital. She was born Aug. 17, 1925, in Latrobe, a daughter of the late Wilbert J. and Effie J. (Dunlap) Campbell. Prior to her retirement, Emma was the owner and operator of the former Wible's Market located on Ligonier Street in Latrobe, and was a member of the Christ United Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William T. Wible; seven brothers , William J., Clarence W., Robert W., Charles L., Walter S., Harry R. and David D. Campbell; and three sisters , Agnes M. Fink, Ethel M. Schall and Effie V. Campbell. She is survived by her son, Reuel "Skip" Wible at home; her daughter, Judith D. Jacobs of Pleasant Unity; a sister, Myrtle Marcinik of Latrobe; five grandchildren, Jill M. Zaremba, Jennifer L. Shaffer and Julie S., Cassie J. and Dakota Wible; a great-granddaughter, Aislyn Zaremba; and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the HARTMAN-GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME INC., 1500 Ligonier St., Latrobe, Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Joan Rhome Carr, 65, of Greensburg, died Friday, July 28, 2000, in her home. She was born March 20, 1935, in Bovard, a daughter of the late Arthur and Olive Grimm Rhome. She was a member of the America for Christ Ministry in New Stanton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Vicki Baker, and son, Albert Carr; and brothers , Gene, Tom, Jim, Ed, Art and Danny Rhome. Joan is survived by her children, Charles Carr Jr., Kimberly Coddington, Beverly Carr, Clinton Carr and Samuel Carr; brothers , Donald, Glenn, Arnold, Rodger and Jerald Rhome; and sisters , Arlene Miller and Dolores Landis. Also survived by 11 grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Friends will be received at the KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME INC., 524 N. Main St., Greensburg, Monday from noon till 1 p.m. Services will be held at the funeral home Monday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Cora Jean Black officiating. Salvator P. "Sam" Emanuel Sr., 74, of Connellsville, died Sunday, July 30, 2000, at his home. He was born June 20, 1926, in Connellsville, a son of the late Paul and Frances Formica Emanuel. He was a retired conductor for the B&O and CSX railroads. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy, and was a member of the VFW and American Legion posts of Connellsville, and the F.O. Eagles of Connellsville. He was also a member of St. Rita's Roman Catholic Church, Connellsville. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Shirley A. Rohm Emanuel; a son, Joseph Emanuel; and a stepbrother, Frank Arico. He is survived by his children, Salvator "Sam" Emanuel Jr. and his wife, Joan, of Connellsville, John Emanuel and his wife, Carol, of Scottdale, Susan Ruck and her husband, Patrick, Teresa Burkus and her husband, Michael, and Lora Jean Smiley and her husband, James, all of Connellsville; 12 grandchildren; two sisters , Rose Virgile and Theresa Emanuel, both of Connellsville. Friends will be received in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 111 E. Green St., Connellsville, Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 9 p.m. A blessing service will be held Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Rita's R.C. Church, Connellsville, with the Rev. Frank Lesniowski as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Rita's Cemetery. military rites will be conducted at the cemetery by the American Legion and VFW Honor Guard. A parish wake service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.

Bruno Ferrari, 98, of Latrobe, died Thursday, July 27, 2000, at his home. He was born April 1, 1902, in Twilight Borough, Fayette County, a son of the late Angelo and Maria (Sichi) Ferrari. Bruno was owner and operator of the Latrobe Construction Co. and was an important part of the Latrobe community, having been involved in many civic activities. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Rose (Paul) Ferrari, in 1991; a daughter, Barbara Raimondo; five brothers ; and a sister. He is survived by his son, Bruno Ferrari Jr. and his wife, Gloria, and his daughter, Stella S. Ridilla, all of Latrobe; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. There was no public visitation. Services and interment were private. James E. Ferraro, 77, of Trafford, died Friday, July 28, 2000, at his home. He was born Dec. 25, 1922, in Trafford, a son of the late Domenic and Domenica Iannuzzi Ferraro. He was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church and served on the church council. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Good Time Club of Monroeville and the Trafford Lions Club, in which he held many offices. He was a retired employee of Westinghouse Electric in East Pittsburgh. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Patsy Ferraro; a sister, Eva Marroncelli; and a grandson, Christopher. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Isabelle Goodman Ferraro; a son, James E. and wife, Nancy Ferraro, of Clairton; two daughters , Linda Snyder and her husband, Steve, of Plum Borough and Debra Reeger and her husband, Ronald, of Burlington, N.C.; a brother, Frank Ferraro of Trafford; a sister, Felice Adams of Clairton; and six grandchildren. Patrick G. Garlits, 80, a resident of Westmoreland Manor, Greensburg, formerly of Jeannette, died Saturday, July 29, 2000. He was born Jan. 29, 1920, in Greensburg, a son of the late George and Catherine Britt Garlits. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by the GenCorp of Jeannette, formerly General Tire Co. Patrick was a member of the Ascension Church of Jeannette, a World War II veteran, having served with the U.S. Army, and a former member of the F.O.E. #844 of Jeannette. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Lucille Tarlo Garlits, in 1997; and a brother, Francis Garlits. He is survived by a daughter, Judy Minyon and her husband, Michael, of Jeannette; a son, Patrick Garlits and his wife, Terry, of Greensburg; four grandchildren, Michelle Bertolino and husband, Michael, of Jeannette and Chrissy, Jamie and Scott Garlits of Greensburg; two great-grandchildren, Dominic Geno Bertolino and Gianna Nichole Bertolino; and several nieces and nephews. Michael J. Genard, 78, of Youngwood, died Saturday, July 29, 2000, at Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. He was born July 8, 1922, in Tarrs, a son of the late Michael and Lucia LoGreco Genard. He was retired from Brown Boveri in South Greensburg. He was a member of the Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church in Youngwood, the A&B Club of Youngwood. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served in the European Theater. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers , Daniel and James Genard; and a sister, Mary Falcon. He is survived by his wife, Betty Pfeifer Genard; two daughters , Rebecca S. and Cheryl A. Genard, and a son, William M. Genard, all of Youngwood; two brothers , Leonard Genard of Youngwood and Frank Genard of Glendale, Ariz.; and two sisters , Antoinette Pelar of Youngwood and Margaret Fisher of Columbus, Ohio. Rosalia (Boyance) Golob, 97, of Stanton Heights, on Saturday, July 29, 2000. Mrs. Golob was a homemaker. She was the beloved wife of the late John C. Golob; mother of Helen Rosalie Golob and Marian Golob, both of Stanton Heights; and sister of late Helen Berdick. Friends received at the FRANK R. Albert E. Grimes Sr., 75, of McCandless, died Saturday, July 29, 2000. Husband of Donna Rea Grimes; Father of Patricia Grimes Caruso of Piedmont, S.C., Jean Grimes Rice of Montgomery, Ohio, Carrie Stewart of Scott Township, Trina Loesch of Cranberry Township, and Renee Adair of Allison Park; brother of Thelma Grimes Ruffert of Sheraden, the late Jack Grimes and the late Dorothy Grimes Plank; also survived by 15 grandchildren. Mr. Grimes was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Army as a civil engineer. In addition to having been a constable in McCandless for 20 years, Mr. Grimes had also been a line worker for Duquesne Light for 38 years before retiring to become a former president of the Duquesne Light Retirees. Mr. Grimes was a member of the Valley of Pittsburgh Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, both the Boy Scouts and the Eagle Scouts for 30 years, and active with West View VFW Post #2754. He had been a volunteer for both the Salvation Army and UPMC Passavant Hospital, where he had been a former president of the Men's Auxiliary. Mr. Grimes was a former deacon of Memorial Park Presbyterian Church and possessed a great love of children, as was demonstrated in his being a school bus monitor for seven years to students of North Allegheny School District who were physically challenged, performing as "SHINDLES," a professional clown, and portraying Santa Claus in Northway Mall.
