Mrs. Emma E. Gross
Mrs. Emma E. Gross, 83, of Slatington, formerly of Allentown, died Friday in her home. She was the widow of Lester N. Gross.
Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Henry G.C. and Florence M. (Ohl) Fallstick.
Surviving are a son, Lester N., at home; two daughters, Shirley A., wife of Walter E. Miller, and Susie M., widw of Rudolph J. Zuanet, both of Slatington; a brother Carl of Breinigsville; three sisters, Lorraine Souders and Dorothy, wife of Kenneth Souders, both of Allentown, and Lottie Day of Breinigsville; 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson.
Mrs. Albert Womer
Mrs. Esther M. Womer, 79, of Hometown, Tamaqua R.1, died Monday in the Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center, Pottsville. She was the wife of Albert Womer. They observed their 59th wedding anniversary last Jan. 1.
Born in Orwigsburg, she was a daughter of the late Roy and Gertrude (Reed) Kriner.
She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Tamaqua.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a son, Leonard A. of Tamaqua; a daughter, Elaine E. Thomas of Hershey; a brother Edgar of Orwigsburg; two sisters, Helen Lesnesky in Florida and Grace Fenstermacher of Orwigsburg; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Deibert.

Patrick J. Alford
Patrick James Alford, 30, of Tamaqua R.1, died Saturday in his home.
He was employed as a machinist.
Born in Frankfurt, Germany, he was a son of Tom and Rita (Kreitl) Alford, with whom he resided.
Surviving in addition to his parents are a brother, Michael L. of Tamaqua R.1; a sister, Beatrice A., wife of Steven Foulk of Brockton; and nieces.

Mrs. Catherine Medico
Mrs. Catherine Medico of 301 W. Broad St., Tamaqua, died Sunday in the Miners Memorial Medical Center, Coaldale. She was the widow of Joseph Medico, who died in 1975.
Prior to retiring, she was employed by the former Atlas Powder Company, Reynolds, for 40 years.
Born in Mahanoy City, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Maria (Ghirardin) Valentine.
She was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church, Tamaqua, and the former Catholic Women's Education Association of the church and the Atlas 25-Year Club.
Surviving are a brother, Rudy Valentine of Tamaqua; and nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Gary Marchalk
Mrs. Mary Ann Marchalk, 35, of Box 250-S, Tamaqua R2, died Monday in Rush Township. She was the wife of Gary D. Marchalk.
She had been employed by several local school districts as a substitute elementary school teacher.
Born in Coaldale, she was a daughter of Frank and Mary (Harrox) Calabrese.
She was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church, Tamaqua.
Dominick W. Forte
Dominick W. Forte, 77, of Brodheadsville, formerly of Flanders and Lake Hiawatha, N.J., died Wednesday in his home. He was the husband of Madeline (Bragalia) Forte. They observed their 52nd wedding anniversary in March.
A member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, he was a plant engineer for Bordens, New York City, N.Y., for 30 years before retiring in 1983.
Born in Newark, N.J., he was a son of the late Pelligrino and Louise (DelCorsano) Forte.
He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Gilbert.
Forte was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of the USS Thatcher DD 514 Association.
Surviving in addition to his widow are three sons, William of Scotrun, Robert of Hackettstown, N.J., and Gregory of Sparta, N.J.; a daughter, Donna Cecchetti of Landing, N.J.; two sisters, Etta in New Jersey and Carmella Hawrusik of Iselin, N.J.; and nine grandchildren.

Agnes M. McFadden
Agnes M. McFadden, 86, of 30 W. White St., Summit Hill, died Wednesday in the Miners Memorial Medical Center, Coaldale.
She was a nursing supervisor in the operating room of the Palmerton Hospital before retiring in 1972.
Born in Summit Hill, she was a daughter of the late John and Anna (McSorley) McFadden.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Summit Hill, and the Panther Valley Golden Age Club, Lansford.
The deceased was a graduate of the Palmerton Hospital School of Nursing.
Surviving are nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Michael, John, Charles and James, and three sisters, Anna Mundy, Loretta McKlindon and Catherine Yorke.

Mrs. Jennie Witmyer
Mrs. Jennie Witmyer, 92, of 82 S. Main St., Mahanoy City, died Wednesday morning at the Ashland Regional Medical Center. She was the widow of John Kehler and Lynn Witmyer.
Born in Mahanoy Township, she was a daughter of the late Isaac and Rebecca (Mauger) Thomas.
She was educated in local schools and was a Protestant.
Surviving are a son, John Kehler of Kulpmont; two daughters, Grace Sheerin of Tamaqua, and Jean, wife of Thomas Eichman, with whom she resided; a sister, Lillian Forred, of Dallas, Luzerne County; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Lynn Witmyer; a daughter, Patricia Witmyer; and several brothers and sisters.

Robert L. Hofacker
Robert L. Hofacker, 84, of Edison, N.J., formerly of Palmerton and Newark, N.J., died Tuesday in his home. He was the husband of Eileen (Zimmerman) Hofacker.
He was a custodian in the Edison School District for many years before retiring in 1978. Previously, he was a machinist for the U.S. Envelope Company, Edison, for 11 years.
Born in Palmerton, he lived there until 1936, when he moved to Newark. He relocated to Edison 12 years later and resided there for the past 45 years.
An Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of American Legion Post 1000, Trenton, N.J.
Hofacker was a communicant of the Reformed Church, Weissport.
Surviving in addition to his widow are two daughters, Jean Rohr of North Brunswick, N.J., and Carol Shwarz of Calabash, N.C.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Charles W. Stauffer
Charles W. Stauffer, 70, of 755 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton, died Wednesday in the Palmerton Hospital. He was the husband of Ruth M. (Green) Stauffer. They observed their 45th wedding anniversary last September.
He owned and operated Stauffer's Garage, Franklin Township, for seven years before retiring in 1984, and previously was a driver for the former Modern Transfer Company, Allentown, for more than 25 years.
Born in Lehighton, he was a son of the late Charles and Gladys (Miller) Stauffer.
He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Palmerton.
Stauffer was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II.
Surviving in addition to his widow are a son, Dean L. of Hiwassee, Va.; and three grandchildren.

Mary E. Malishaucki
Doctor who cared for area's aged many years, dies at 90
Dr. Mary E. Malishaucki, 90, formerly of Tamaqua, last residing in the Forward Manor Nursing Home, Wilmington, Del., died Friday in the home where she had been residing since May, 1991. She was the widow of Dr. Thomas J. Malishaucki, to whom she was married 54 years before he died in 1991.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was a daughter of the late Elias and Anastasia (Snegirewych) Grynkewich.
She graduated from Temple University in 1933 and Temple Medical School in 1937.
Dr. Malishaucki and her late husband served the Tamaqua area as medical physicians for 50 years, retiring in 1987.
Her first 30 years of medical practice dealt mainly with gynecology, obstetrics and pediatrics.
She managed two medical practices when her husband served in a Luxembourg hospital for three years during World War II.
Her last 20 years of practice was spent managing the Health Care Unit for the Aged in Coaldale State General Hospital, now Miners Memorial Medical Center, Coaldale.
She was an active member of St. Mary's Russian Orthodox Church, Coaldale. She was a past District Director of the Federated Russian Orthodox Clubs.
She was also active in the Pennsylvania Medical Society and the American Medical Association before moving to Wilmington in 1991.
She served as a Girl Scout leader, PTA President and taught Sunday School 30 years, while volunteering on many committees and clinics to help improve the health of the Tamaqua Area residents.
She was past president of the Tamaqua-Carbon Unit of the American Cancer Society, serving from 1971-72. She was Secretary of the Tamaqua Medical Society from 1943-1971.
Surviving is a son, Thomas J. Malishaucki of Perkasia, and a daughter, Mary E. Rhodunda of Wilmington; a sister, Anne E. Grynkewich of Livingston, N.J., and five grandchildren.

Mrs. Mildred A. Lichtenwalter
Mrs. Mildred A. (Solt) Lichtenwalter, 88, of 853 Delaware Ave., Palmerton, died Friday in Arlington Memorial Hospital, Arlington, Tex. She was the widow of the late Norman R. Lichtenwalter.
Born in Big Crek, she was a daughter of the late Orlando and Mary (Buck) Solt.
She was a member of St. John's U.C.C. Church, Palmerton, and was superintendent of the Primary Department of the Sunday School for 30 years.
She was also president of the Ladies Aid Society for 50 years.
Surviving is a son, Ray C. Lichtenwalter of Arlington, Tex.; two sisters, Beatrice, wife of Robert Schaeffer of Hatboro and LaRue, wife of Arlington Beers of Lehighton. Also three grandchildren.

Nicholas Jacob Heinrich, 18 months old, of 32 N. Main St., Trumbauersville, died Friday in his home, following a lengthy illness.
Born in Reading, he was a son of Arik S. and Heather A. (Leiby) Heinrich.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are paternal grandparents Steven and Elizabeth Heinrich of Clinton, Ill.; maternal grandparents, Byron and Susan Leiby of Tamaqua R1; paternal great grandparents, Robert and Lucille Heinrich of Clinton, Ill., and Allene Powell of Cocksville, Ill.; maternal great grandfather, Joseph Grow of Chatanooga, Tenn.; and paternal great great grandmother, Agnes Woodrum of Niantic, Ill.
