Nancy Thomas
A memorial service for Nancy Thomas will be held April 3, 2004 at 2 p.m. at the Faith Baptist Church in Rich Valley, with the Rev. Dwight Simpson, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Edward M. Barnett Funeral Home.
Donald Pearsall
Donald Eugene Pearsall, 45, of Curvensville, died March 5, 2006 at the Clearfield Hospital.
Mr. Pearsall was born Sept. 14, 1960 in DuBois, the son of Edmond Clair and Viola Mae Narby Pearsall, of Castle Garden, Cameron County. He attended Cameron County schools.
He enjoyed sharing his camping, fishing and hunting skills and making videos of the animals in their natural habitat.
His friends will treasure his sense of humor, friendly smile and laugh. He was honored to have been taught by his mother to make her "famous" homemade peanut butter fudge and to share this treat with all who knew him.
His favorite memories were fishing and camping with his brothers and baiting the fish hook for his sister. Don's school friends continued into life long friendships. He also enjoyed making woodcraft items and sold these items to many.
Don was affiliated with The Faith Bible Church in Lumber City.
He is survived by his companion Mary Lauffer; children, Joseph Q. Pearsall and Donald E. Pearsall Jr. both of Karthus, Dawn A. (Dave) Barrett of Osceola Mills, Charles Thompson of Bellwood and Victoria Thompson of Curvensville; a sister Sarah (Norm) MacAfee of Jersey Shore; brothers William (Jan) Pearsall of Allegany, NY, Harold Pearsall and his companion Cindy Dunn of Jersey Shore and Edmond Pearsall of Charlotte, NC.
Don was preceded in death by grandparents, Arthur H. and Louise Wolfe Pearsall, Earl and Margaret Narby and Clara Hicks; his parents; a brother, Edmond C. Pearsall; and a sister Helen M. Foote.
Funeral Services were held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. in Curvensville on March 9, 2006. Rev. Scott Schultz officiated. Burial will be at the family's convenience.

George English
George A. English, 89, of Lake Wylie, South Carolina, formerly of 123 West Fourth Street, Emporium, died Wednesday (March 15, 2006) at Gaston Memorial Hospital, after a brief illness.
He was born in Driftwood on Jan. 27, 1917, son of the late Leslie and Alice English. He was a lifelong resident of Cameron County and was employed at GTE Sylvania as a tool and die maker for 35 years.
He was a WWII veteran and a member of the American Legion for over 60 years and was awarded a lifetime membership to the emporium Country Club.
Mr. English is survived by his wife, Lorinda English; one daughter, Carol Jaeger; grandsons Kent Jaeger and John (Joanna) Jaeger, granddaughter Karen Jaeger; great grandchildren, Jennifer and Alex Jaeger; nieces and nephews Richard, Marybeth, John and Alice English and their families, Bruno and Verna Pelleschi; and cousin Peggy Adams.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Anne Burch and three brothers, Dale English, Erwin English and Phillip English.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, (March 21, 2006) at the Edward M. Barnett Funeral Home. Father Paul Siebert, pastor of St. Mark Roman Catholic Church, officiated. Burial was in Park Lawn Cemetery, Ridgway.

Gerald Clancy
Gerald F. Clancy, 87, of Ripple Drive, Austin, died Friday, (March 17, 2006) at Charles Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport.
Born Jan. 1, 1919, in Erie, he was a son of Edward and Lottie Simons Clancy, who preceded him in death. On Nov. 25, 1936, in North Creek, he married Lila M. Hart.
Mr. Clancy was a retired auto mechanic and former interstate truck driver.
In addition to his wife of more than 69 years, he is survived by eight children, Barbara Clancy of Zolfo, Fl, Edward (Sandy) Clancy of Duke Center, William (Delores) Clancy of Kill Buck, NY, Patricia (Lloyd) Hamilton of Austin, Richard (Judy) Clancy of Emporium and Robert Clancy, Anna (Alb) Glover and Mary (Denny) Baker, all of Austin; 26 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Eleanor Reynolds of Emporium and Edna Turner of Port Allegany.
He was preceded in death by a son, Gerald Clancy Jr.; and five grandsons.
Visitation was held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Fickinger Funeral Home, Coudersport. Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 22, 2006. Private burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Austin.

George Grasser
George H. Grasser, 72, of 235 Tannery Heights, died Sunday (June 4, 2006) in Elk Regional Health Center, St. Marys.
Born Sept. 22, 1933, in St. Marys, he was a son of George N. and Helen Irene Laird Grasser. On July, 1970, in Emporium, he married Mary Anna Hedgeland, who survives.
Mr. Grasser had lived in Emporium since 1953. He graduated from St. Marys High School with the Class of 1952 and had been a tool and die maker at GTE Sylvania for 40 years. He was presently serving as the Administrator of Emporium Moose Lodge #368.
He was a member and Administrator of Loyal Order of Moose #368, May Hollow Sportsmen's Club, President of the May Hollow Hunt Club, member of Renovo BPO Elks #334, Renovo Aerie Eagles Club #0489, Sinnemahoning Sportsmen's Club and the Sylvania Quarter Century Club.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three daughters, Shelly Ann (Douglas) Yearick of Centerville, VA., Stacy (George) Glossner of Winchester, VA., Kelly (Mark) Dennis of Mars; two stepdaughters, Cynthia (Robert) Probst of North Bend, Brenda (Timothy) Brown of Beaver; two sons, Robert N. (Tracey) Grasser of North Carolina, G. Curtis Grasser of Williamsport; one stepson, Brian (Ginger) Long of Baltimore, MD.; 12 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two sisters, Doris Distler of Hinkley, Ill., Sharon (Craig) Underwood of Jamestown, N.Y.; two brothers, James (Nancy) Grasser and Dennis (Patricia) Grasser, both of Emporium.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one granddaughter and one brother.
Friends were received Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. in the Edward M. Barnett Funeral Home, PC, where a Pilgrim Memorial Service was held at 7:30. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Funeral Home, with Rev. Gary Atkinson, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in North Bend Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, bricks may be purchased at Moose lodge #368 for a memorial Wall.
Donald Walker
Donald J. Walker, 65, of 310 Braun Road, St. Marys, died Friday evening (June 2, 2006) at Elk Regional Health Center.
He was born Dec. 16, 1940 in Emporium, son of the late Orma Walker, who preceded him in death in April 2005. He was a graduate of Cameron County High School, Class of 1960. He then went on to serve in the US Navy for four years. After that he attended and graduated from West Virginia University, Class of 1970. He had resided in St. Marys for 31 years.
On July 17, 1971, in St. Mark's Church in Emporium, he married Beverly J. Delozier, who survives. He is also survived by three daughters: Jennifer J. (Mrs. Greg) Brauser of State College, Jacqueline L. Walker of Morgantown, WV., Donn Elizabeth Walker of Pittsburgh; one brother, Lawerence Walker of Smyrna, Georgia; and two grandsons: Benjamin Michael and Ethan John Brauser.
Donald spent many years as a sales engineer for International Harvester Equipment, followed by a career in the powered metal industry. He retired from Alpine Pressed Metals in 200. Most recently, he worked as a personal sales consultant for Engineer Pressed Metals.
He was a member of the St. Marys Church, the Knights of Columbus, and the St. Marys Elks Club.
Don will be mostly remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the St. Mary's Church, with Rev. Eric Vogt OSB officiating. Burial followed in St. Mark's Cemetery, Emporium. Full military rites was accorded by the St. Marys Servicemen's Burial Detail.
Visitation was at the LynchRadkowski Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

Michael Patochek
Michael Patochek 79, of 5 N. Walnut St., Lansford, died Thursday in the Good Samaritan Hospital, Pottsville. He was the husband of Julia (Danchak) Patochek. They were married 54 years this past October 10.
He was last employed for Bethlehem Mines Corporation and prior for the former Lehigh Coal and Navigation Company.
Born in Coaldale, he was the son of the late Alexi and May Patochek.
He was a member of St. Mary Russian Orthodox Church in Coaldale.
Surviving with his wife is a son Thomas of Endicott, N.Y.; a daughter, Sandra, wife of George Bossick of Burlington, VT.; two sisters, Patrina Poko of Coaldale; Olga, wife of Frank Dzurenko of New York, N.Y.; five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Walter and Peter.

Hilda A. Moerder
Hilda A. Moerder, 89, of 295 Mahoning Drive East, Lehighton, died Frida in the Gnaden Huetten Hospital, Lehighton. She was the widow of Allen D. Moerder, who died in 1974.
Born in Mahoning Valley, she was a daughter of the late Alvin and Kate (Breiner) Frantz.
She was employed by the former Windsor Store, Lehighton, as a seamstress until it went out of business. Later she worked for Wos-Wit food processing company, Mahoning Valley, until she retired.
She was a member of Ben Salem UCC Church, and the Golden Agers of Mahoning Valley.
Surviving is a son, Griffith of Center Valley, and a daughter, Janet, wife of Jerome B. Knauss, Schnecksville. Also, six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jean Hamm, and three brothers, Odillion, William and Harry Frantz; and three sisters, Mary Mantz, Ida Snyder and Nora Hopkins.

Mrs. Frederick R. Miller Sr.
Mrs. Marguerite A. Miller, 76, of 964 Hazard Road, Palmerton, died Monday in the Palmerton Hospital. She was the wife of Frederick R. Miller Sr. They observed their 58th wedding anniversary on June 24.
Born in Bowmanstown, she was a daughter of the late Martin S. and Cora (Schock) Scherer.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Palmerton, and the East Penn Sporting Club, East Penn Township.
Surviving in addition to her husband are six daughters, Alice M., wife of Thomas Landers of Freeland, Mrs. Janet F. Binder, Sandra K., wife of Richard C. Snyder Jr., and Patsy A., wife of Henry W. Beaber, all of Palmerton, and Mrs. Carole A. Miller and Diane J., wife of Douglas Hunsicker, both of Slatington; two sons, Frederick R. Jr. of Palmerton and James M., at home; a sister, Mrs. Grace Roth of Palmerton; a brother Dean of Sun Lakes, Ariz.; 20 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Delores German; and two brothers, Robert and Martin.

Miller addition: Mrs. Marguerite A. Miller, 76, of 964 Hazard Road, Palmerton, who died Monday in the Palmerton Hospital, was also preceded in death by five other sisters, Martha Rehrig (her twin), Marion Roth, Alverta Gruber, Marcella Beltz and Pearl Green.
Robert F. Roth
Robert F. Roth, 66, of Slatington, died Monday in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of Lois M. (Evans) Roth. They observed their 32nd wedding anniversary in July.
He was an insurance agent for the Providian Life Insurance Company, Allentown, for 20 years before retiring in 1987. He was also the co-owner of the Neffs Hotel, 1964-68, and the Kernsville Hotel, Orefield, 1961-64.
Born in Schnecksville, he was a son of the late William M. and Hilda M. (Knappenberger) Roth.
He was a member of the Lutheran congregation of Heidelberg Union Church, Heidelberg Township.
Roth was a member of Lehigh Lodge No. 326, Trexlertown, and the Rajah Shrine, Reading.
Surviving in addition to his widow are a brother, Richard O. of Schnecksville; and a sister, LaRue L. Wilson of Allentown.
Ray R. Roberts
Ray R. Roberts, 71, of Moore Township, died Monday in the Muhlenberg Hospital Center, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Gloria M. (Jacoby) Roberts. They observed their 50th wedding anniversary in June.
He was an equipment operator for the Keystone Portland Cement Company, Bath, for more than 40 years before retiring in 1987.
Born in Berlinsville, he was a son of the late William Sr. and Stella (Kidd) Roberts.
He was a member of the Dryland United Church of Christ, Newburg, where he sang in the choir.
Roberts was an Army veteran of World War II.
Surviving in addition to his widow are five daughters, Linda, wife of the Rev. David Considine of Dover, Del., Patricia Balukowitch of Allentown, Sharon, wife of Duane Avery of East Bangor, Rayne, wife of Dale Berger of Nazareth, and Brenda, wife of Gutchiston Sparrow III of Kunkletown; three sisters, Dorothy Heintzelman of Coplay and Mae Buchman and Joyce Redline, both of Walnutport; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Bessie E. Koehler
Mrs. Bessie E. Koehler, 82, of Saylorsburg, died Monday in the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg. She was the widow of Floyd Koehler.
She was a seamstress in various area blouse mills for 20 years before retiring in 1974, and was also well-known in the area for her quilt-making abilities.
Born in Lehighton, she was a daughter of the late Lafayette and Augusta (Van Horn) Kibler.
She was of the Lutheran faith.
Surviving are three sons, Floyd Jr. and Harold, both of Saylorsburg, and Lawrence of Albrightsville; two daughters, Elaine Adams of Sciota and Marion Sobers of Saylorsburg; a brother, Lafayette Jr. of Weissport; two sisters, Myrtle Eckert and Miriam Green, both of Lehighton; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. John D. Henry
Mrs. Bertha L. Henry, 78, of Effort R.1, died Monday in the Palmerton Hospital. She was the wife of John D. Henry. They observed their 55th wedding anniversary in July.
She was a technical assistant in the main laboratory of the Bethlehem Steel Corporation in the 1940s, and previously had worked for the former G.C. Murphy Co., Bethlehem, for six years.
Born in Bethlehem, she was a daughter of the late Harry E. and Hilda A. (Neith) Huff.
She was a member of the former St. Thomas Lutheran Church, Bethlehem.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a son, William H. of Allentown; a daughter, Robyn L. of Newburgh, N.Y.; a brother Byron of Bethlehem; three sisters, Grace of Spring City, Gladys Groman of Easton and Jean Kessler of Allentown; and a granddaughter.
