Bernard Kufrovich
Bernard Kufrovich, 70, of 307 W. Mahanoy Ave., Mahanoy City, died Monday evening in the Hazleton General Hospital. He was the husband of Grace (Teichman) Kufrovich.
Before retiring, he was the caretaker for Assumption B.V.M. Church, Mahanoy City.
Born in Mahanoy City, he was a son of the late Paul and Mary (Enich) Kufrovich, and had spent his entire life in Mahanoy City.
He was an Army veteran and a member of Assumption B.V.M. Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion posts, all of Mahanoy City.
Surviving in addition to his widow are a daughter, Hope Ann Jones of Mahanoy City; two sons, Lawrence and James, at home; three brothers, Joseph of Barnesville, Stephen of Lancaster and Francis of Frackville; four sisters, Agnes Kostelnik and Florence Kufrovich, both of Mahanoy City, Sophia Kufrovich of Burbon, Ind., and Mrs. Gerald (Catherine) King of Audubon; seven grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Douglas J. Matthews
Douglas J. Matthews, 74, of 266 S. Fourth St., Hamburg, Berks County, died Sunday in his home.
Born in New York City, he was a son of the late John and Edna (Schaefer) Matthews.
He worked throughout his life as a photographer. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in communications.
He is the last of his immediate family.

Jean M. Michel
Jean M. Michel, 76, of 930 Center Ave., Jim Thorpe, died Monday in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. She was the wife of Donald E. Michel.
Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Stephen and Mary (Strauss) Backun.
Surviving with her husband is a daughter, Donna, wife of Randall McNear, Purbottville, Northumberland County; a sister, Sephanie, wife of John Sukanick, Bethlehem, and two grandchildren.

Mrs. Mary L. Niehoff
Mrs. Mary L. Niehoff, 83, of 175 N. Seventh St., Lehighton, died Tuesday in the Allentown Osteopathic Medical Center. She was the widow of Attorney Carl A. Niehoff, who died Sept. 1, 1984.
A florist, she owned and operated Niehoff Flowers, Lehighton, for 52 years before retiring in 1986.
Born in Lehighton, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Macog and Mary (Davis) Simon.
She was of the Lutheran faith.
Mrs. Niehoff was a former Gray Lady at the Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital, Lehighton.
Surviving are a son, Donald R. of Lehighton; two daughters, Marie R., wife of Mark Walp of Winter Haven, Fla., and Carla L., wife of William Conner of Bethlehem; a half-sister, Margaret Martino of Jim Thorpe; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Attorney Karl P., who died Dec. 19, 1982.

Glenn E.Olson
Glenn E. Olson, 43, of Allentown, died Thursday in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of Myrtle J. (Lilly) Olson. They observed their 17th wedding anniversary last July.
He worked in the maintenance department of The Morning Call, Allentown, for 10 years before retiring in 1994, and previously had unloaded trucks for the Solmar Surgical Supply Company, Allentown.
Born in New Brunswick, N.J., he was a son of Mrs. Doris (Plog) Olson of Bangor and the late Robert E. Olson.
He was a member of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, Allentown.
Olson was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
Surviving in addition to his widow and mother are a son, Gregory E., at home; and three brothers, Robert E. of Bangor, Jeffrey E. of Rosepine, La., and Gary E. of Lansford.
Winifred H. O'Donnell
Winifred H. O'Donnell, 90, of 439 E. Center St., Mahanoy City, died early Wednesday morning in the Shenandoah Manor Nursing Home.
She was a former school teacher in Mahanoy City and the Mahanoy Area School District, having taught for 30 years. She also taught for three years in the Blythe Township schools prior to being hired at Mahanoy City.
Born in Mahanoy City, she was a daughter of the late Bernard and Mary (Maher) O'Donnell.
She was a 1924 graduate of Mahanoy City High School, a 1926 graduate of West Chester State College and received a bachelor's degree in education from Penn State University and a master's degree from New York University.
She was a member of St. Canicus Catholic Church, Mahanoy City; the Catholic Daughters of America; the Pennsylvania State Education Association; the National Education Association; and Theta Phi Alpha Sorority of Penn State.
She is survived by cousins.
She also was preceded in death by a sister, Alice McLaughlin.
Kevin L. Niederer
Kevin L. Niederer, 16, of East Side Borough, White Haven, died Tuesday in Kidder Township.
Born in Jecheon, Korea, he was a son of Dennis and Linda (Graham) Niederer.
Originally from Idaho, he lived in Atlanta, Ga., for nine years before moving to East Side. He lived in White Haven area for the past year.
He attended the Carbon County Vocational-Technical School, Jim Thorpe, and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Trucksville.
Surviving in addition to his parents are a brother Michael, at home; and two sisters, Lonna Howard in Hawaii and Paula Burke of Atlanta.
He was also preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Ila Briggs.
Albert E. Woerner
Albert E. Woerner, 70, of Saylorsburg, died Wednesday in his home. He was the husband of Ellinor (Jacob) Woerner. They observed their 44th wedding anniversary last September.
He was a machinist for Bronner Tool and Die Company, East Hanover, N.J., for 30 years before retiring in 1992.
Born in Hanau, Germany, he was a son of the late Jean and Louisa (Groddeck) Woerner.
Surviving in addition to his widow are a son Carl of Denville, N.J.; a daughter, Lorraine Jones of Kenvil, N.J.; and a sister, Ruth Alraum in Germany.
Isabel K. Teets
Isabel K. Teets, 89, of 51 Third Avenue, Lehighton, died Thursday morning in the Hometown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Hometown. She was the widow of the late Harry R. "Hack" Teets, who died January 16, 1992.
Born in Packerton, Mahoning Township, she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Katheryn (Hascher) Armbruster.
She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lehighton.
Surviving are a son, Carlos, with whom she resided; a sister, Mrs. Helen Honchen, of Lehighton; one grandchild, and four great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by seven brothers, Henry, Herbert, Charles, Walter, John, Leon, and Lawrence; four sisters, Edith Blank, Clara Nickey, Marjorie Miller, and Theresa Friend; and one grandson.

James F. Bonner
James F. Bonner, 78, of 254 W. Ludlow St., Summit Hill, died Thursday in the Miners Memorial Medical Center, Coaldale. He was the husband of Loretta (Sweeney) Bonner. They observed their 50th wedding anniversary on May 3.
He worked for the former Bundy Tubing Company, Hometown, for many years before retiring, and previously had been employed by the former Lehigh Coal and Navigation Company.
Born in Summit Hill, he was a son of the late Patrick and Agnes (Campbell) Bonner.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Summit Hill.
Bonner was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion Post 316 and Diligence Fire Company No. 1, both of Summit Hill, and AMVETS Post 83, Lansford.
Surviving in addition to his widow are three sons, James of York, Thomas of New Ringgold and Joseph of Tamaqua; two daughters, Mary, wife of Stan Dick of Tamaqua, and Elizabeth, wife of Robert Mongi of Summit Hill; two brothers, Thomas and Richard, both of Levittown, Bucks County; two sisters, Mary Rodgers in New Jersey and Sister Gertrude, R.M., of Merion Station, Montgomery County; and 12 grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers, John, Robert and Patrick; and four sisters, Margaret Ferry, Helen Falcone, Josephine Shultz and Frances Corby.

Mrs. Charles Forbush
Mrs. June M. Forbush, 47, of Broadway, North Attleboro, Mass., died Wednesday night in her home. She was the wife of Charles Forbush.
She was a special education teacher at Jordan's Elementary School, Mansfield, Mass., and a member of the Massachusetts Teacher's Association.
Born in Palmerton, she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Virginia (Breiner) Martino.
A 1968 graduate of Panther Valley High School, she earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education at the former Kutztown State College and a master's degree in special education from Bridgewater (Mass.) State University.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter Heather and two sons, John and Christopher, all at home; and a brother, Anthony Martino Jr. of Reading.
Funeral services will be held Saturday in North Attleboro, Mass.
Harry E.Heller
Harry E. "Woody" Heller, 67, of 622 Beverly Drive, Allentown, died Thursday in his home. He was the husband of Lillian L. (Heil) Heller. They were married for 53 years.
A member of Teamsters Local 773, Allentown, he was a truck driver-dispatcher for Myers Men, Inc., Allentown, for 35 years before retiring in 1993.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Louis C. Heller II and Elsie M. (Solar) Heller Koch.
He was a member of Nativity Lutheran Church, Allentown.
Heller was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and also served in the Naval Reserve.
He was a member of V.F.W. Post 7293, Egypt, and Ranger Lake, Coplay.
Surviving in addition to his widow are two sons, Douglas E. of Slatington and Michael E. of Allentown; three daughters, Pamela J., wife of Richard E. Piger Jr. of Orefield, Debra K., wife of Richard R. Tice of Allentown, and Susan L., wife of Richard P. Arndt of North Catasauqua; a brother, Lou C. III of Walnutport; a sister Patricia, wife of William Mackey of Quakertown; his stepmother, Catherine M. (Nagy) Heller of Allentown; and 12 grandchildren.
Joseph D. French
Joseph D. French, 82, of Robin Hood Lakes, Monroe County, died Thursday in the Palmerton Hospital. He was the husband of the late Martha (Shiner) French, the late Ardella (Heiney) French, and the late Dorothy (Clark) French.
He was a repairman for the former New Jersey Zinc Company, Palmerton, for 43 years before retiring in 1976.
Born in Palmerton, he was a son of the late Francis A. and Cindy (Whiteman) French.
He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, Aquashicola.
Surviving are a stepson, Russell C. Baker of Kunkletown; a stepdaughter Carol, wife of David Blizzard of Langhorne, Bucks County; four step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.
