MR. MATTHEWS WAS BORN IN HUDSON FALL, NEW YORK. HE GRADUATED FROM HUDSON FALLS HIGH SCHOOL AND UNION COLLEGE IN SCHNECTADY, NEW YORK.
MR. MATTHEWS SERVED HIS COUNTRY IN THE UNITED STATES NAVAL AIR CORP AND OBTAINED THE RANK OF LIEUTENANT.
FOLLOWING COLLEGE MR. MATTHEWS WENT TO WORK FOR THE METAL HOSE DIVIVSION OF ANACONDA AMERICAN BRASS CO. IN 1964, HE WENT OUT AND STARTED HIS OWN COMPANY, AMERICAN FLEXIBLE HOSE COMPANY LOCATED IN HAVERTOWN, PA.
MR. MATTHEWS ENJOYED BIRD WATCHING AND SPENDING TIME WITH HIS GRANDCHILDREN. HE ALSO GREATLY ENJOYED HIS TIMES IN THE ADIRONDACK MOUNTAINS IN UPSTATE NEW YORK.

Dorothy May Willams Jones, 85, a long time resident of Wynnewood, Pa. and a graduate of Lower Merion High School died Wednesday October 19, 2005.
Daughter of the late John & Ethel Wright Williams, wife of the late G. Kenneth Jones. She is survived by her cousins Margaret R. Johnson, Paul Johnson, Helen C. Miller, James Johnson, and their children, and by cousins Diane Scattergood and her children and Stacy Wright.
Funeral services for Mrs. Jones will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday October 24 in the Funeral Home of John Stretch, E. Eagle Rd. & St. Denis Lane, Havertown, where family and friends may call after 10:30 A.M. Entombment will follow in Fernwood Cemetery.
Donations in Dottie's name to the Mary J. Drexel Home, 238 Belmont Ave, Bala Cynwyd, Pa. 19004, would be greatly appreciated.

KYLE J. AMBROGI

Kyle J., suddenly, on October 10, 2005, beloved son of Chris of Gulf Mills, Pa. and Donna of Havertown, Pa.(nee Ranieri) Ambrogi, of Havertown, Pa. Brother of Greg and step-brother of Chris and Alexandria. Grandson of Margaret (nee Cantwell)and the late Dr.Tito Ranieri, M.D. and Marguerite (nee McClatchy) and the late Joseph Ambrogi.
Kyle started his football career in grade school as a St. Denis Bulldawg. Kyle was a first team All-City Running Back for St. Joseph's Prep in 2000 and '01, and was in his senior year playing for the University of Penn. The Prep coach Gil Brooks described Kyle as a "shining example of how all good athletes should carry themselves." Kyle was the recipient of the St. Joseph's Prep alumni award in 2002, was a student-council representative and a winner of the National Latin Exam Silver Award. Also a good student in Penn's Wharton School and was very close with his younger brother and Penn teammate, sophomore defensive back Greg Ambrogi.
Family and friends may call 7-9 PM Sunday evening in St. John Neumann Church, Highland Ave, Bryn Mawr. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Monday October 17 in St. John Neumann Church. Interment will follow in St. Denis Cemetery.

SHE GRADUATED FROM MASTER MISERICORDIAC ACADEMY, MERION, PA. IN 1943. SHE MARRIED ROBERT J. LEAHY OF NARBERTH, PA., AT ST. MATTHIAS ON SEPTEMBER 15, 1947. TOGETHER THEY LIVED IN WILMINGTON, DE. WHERE RE RAISED AN ACTIVE FAMILY OF FIVE. WHEN BOB RETIRED FROM HERCULES INC., IN 1986, THEY MOVED TO EASTON, MD. WHERE RE WAS ACTIVE IN THE COMMUNITY. ELIZABETH J. (nee BRENNAN) SERAFINO

Elizabeth J. "Betty" Serafino, 84, a 56 year resident of Havertown died Tuesday morning October 25, 2005 at Delaware County Memorial Hospital.
Born August 26, 1921 in Philadelphia to Catherine (nee Collins) and Patrick Joseph Brennan. She was raised in West Philadelphia graduating from St. Gregory's Grade School and West Catholic High School for Girls, class of 1939.
Mrs. Serafino's first husband, John Roland Laverty died young at the age of 41 leaving her with 4 daughters. To take care of her family she went to work, working many jobs. Some of the these jobs were as a Bookeeper for Adelaide's Modern Bridal Shop, Manager of Park Lane Hosiery and also working as a waitress. She also used her wonderful skills as a dressmaker keeping her daughters looking beautiful, including making all their prom dresses.
A devout Catholic, she was an active parishioner of Sacred Heart Parish in Havertown for 56 years. She led a good Christian Life, always willing to help others. She was always helping fellow parishioners and neighbors, taking them to the their doctor's appointments, to the hairdresser, grocery shopping or whatever their needs including preparing meals. She also made and delivered casseroles for the homeless weekly.
Mrs. Serafino's second husband, the late Emedio Serafino, suffered from diabetes and alzheimers disease. He had excellent care during his illness.
Betty's daughters said their Mother was a kind and loving person who was happiest when she was with her daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren. They said she was a great cook, had an avid interest in world affairs and politics. They also stated that their Mom was a "No Spin Mom" and lived Her Life Her Way all the way to the end.
Betty is the Mother of Arlene Vogel, Betsy Hewitt, Donna Robinson, Janet Janssen (Jim), she is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and her siblings, Patrick Brennan & Kathleen Hale.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Mrs. Serafino at 11:00 A.M. Saturday October 29 in Sacred Heart Church, Manoa Rd, Havertown where family and friends may call after 9:30 A.M. Interment will follow in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to Sacred Heart Church, Manoa Rd. & Shelbourne Ave., Havertown, Pa. 19083.

BERNICE EDNA CHEYNEY
Born in PARIS, MICHIGAN on Aug. 31, 1916
Departed on Oct. 22, 2005 and resided in ARDMORE, PA.

Susanne Schimmel

Mrs. Susanne Schimmel passed away on July 27, 2006 at Sunrise Assited Living in Lafayette Hills, Pa. She was the wife of the late Simon Schimmel. Mrs. Schimmel is the mother of Hannelore Repetto of Boothwyn, Pa. She is the grandmother of Michael Repetto of Rochester, Michigan, Susan Repetto Chambers of Davis, California, and Douglas I. Repetto of New York City. She also is survived by 5 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Schimmel was born in Germany and emmigrated to the United States of America with her husband in 1951. They settled in Brooklyn, New York where she ran Suzie's Bar and Grill on Myrtle Ave. in Brooklyn.
The servies and interment will be private to the family.
The family would appreciate any memorial donations be made to Keystone Hospice 8765 Stenton Ave. Wyndmoor, Pa. 19038.
