Anthony Facciolo, 76, of Lakeland, Fla., formerly of Moon, died on Sunday, July 23, 2000. He was the beloved husband of the late Mildred (Whyles) Facciolo. He is survived by a daughter, Cindy Hart of Peters; one son, Don F. Facciolo of Harrisburg; two grandchildren, Ben and Alison; one brother, Joseph Facciolo of N.C.; three sisters , Jean Eckhardt and Lori Morack, both of Beaver Falls, and Marge Ammer of Fla. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carmel and Mary (Pengidore) Facciolo, and a brother, Paul Facciolo. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in McDERMOTT FUNERAL HOME, INC., 334 Forest Grove Road, Kennedy. Funeral services are private. Kenneth K. Fry, 72, of Greensburg, died Sunday, July 23, 2000, in Somerset County. He was born Sept. 2, 1927, in Greensburg, a son of the late Kenneth J. and Mary E. Keating Fry. He currently had been employed by the Westmoreland County Intermediate Unit and was retired from Westinghouse, East Pittsburgh, in 1982 with 32 years of service, and also retired from Sears, Westmoreland Mall, Greensburg. He was a member of Zion's Lutheran Church, Greensburg; a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II; and had graduated from the Greensburg High School and the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores A. Sarver Fry, on Oct. 20, 1996. He is survived by a son, Kenneth K. Fry Jr. of New Castle, Colo.; three daughters , Debbie Fry of Oakland, Calif., Elizabeth A. and her husband, Phillip Hunkele, of Glenshaw, and Gretchen D. Fry at home; three grandchildren, Courtney Ann, Erik K. and Nicholas K. Fry; a brother-in-law, Jan D. and his wife, Patricia Sarver, of Greensburg; and two sisters -in-law, Gail E. and her husband, Harry Tompkins, of Jeannette, and Marilyn Sarver in Nevada. There will be no public visitation. Private interment will take place in the Union Cemetery, Hempfield Township. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service Saturday, July 29, at 1:30 p.m. in Zion's Lutheran Church, Pennsylvania Avenue, Greensburg, with the Rev. Gene R. Stuckey Jr. officiating. Avanell "Ave" Gerber, 78, died Tuesday, July 25, 2000, in her home. Born Nov. 26, 1921, in East Brady, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Melvin William and Anna Mae Burford Wiles. Mrs. Gerber was a longtime member of Christ Lutheran Church, Millvale. Survivors include a son, Richard Gerber of Hampton; two daughters , Barbara "Babs" Milcic of Sharpsburg and Patti Mazza of McCandless; two brothers , Bill Wiles of Gibsonia and Bob Wiles of Lawrenceville; four sisters , Alverda Vidt of California, Lois Barrett and Marlene Dooley, both of Brookline, and Carol Armstrong of North Huntingdon; and six grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James T. Gerber; a son, James R. Gerber; a brother, Donald Wiles; and a sister, Charlotte Guy. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in WORRELL FUNERAL HOME, corner of Main and Ninth Streets, Sharpsburg. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Christ Lutheran Church, Millvale. Burial will be in Mt. Royal Cemetery, Shaler.

Ethel M. Haisley, 84, died Wednesday, July 26, 2000, in UPMC Passavant, McCandless. Born Nov. 28, 1915, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Wilbert F. and Minnie Porter Niemeier. Mrs. Haisley was a homemaker. Survivors include a daughter, Martha A. Krause of Cranberry; a brother, George Niemeier of Fla.; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William W. Haisley. There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Christ Lutheran Church, 157 Peony Ave., West View, with the Rev. David Littke officiating. Burial will be in United Cemeteries in Ross. William Hazelton Hanley,

William Hazelton Hanley, 76, of Ligonier, died Sunday, July 23, 2000, at his home. Born Jan. 5, 1924, in Buffalo, N.Y., he was a son of the late William L. and Florence Hazelton Hanley. He graduated from the Hill School in Pottstown in 1944. He earned his B.A. in industrial engineering from Yale in 1949. He served as a helicopter pilot in the U.S. Army Air Corps at the conclusion of World War II, and was president of the Twirly Birds, an association of pioneer helicopter pilots. He was past president of The Hanley Company of Bradford, Pa., an oil and gas producer and brick manufacturer. He was a longtime resident of Sewickley. Mr. Hanley retired as vice president of Gould Inc. of Rolling Meadows, Ill. He first came to Ligonier in 1948 as captain of the Yale University Polo Team, where he played matches at the Rolling Rock Club, and subsequently played for Rolling Rock polo teams in the 1950s. He won numerous skeet championships at the Rolling Rock Club and in competitions across the United States. He was a member of the Rolling Rock Club in Ligonier, the Duquesne Club in Pittsburgh, the Racquet Club in New York, and the Bath & Tennis Club in Palm Beach, Fla. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Lois Hanley. Survivors include two daughters , Mrs. Britton (Karen) Colbert of Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. Kevin (Dana) Farley of Charlotte, Vt.; a son, Kemp Hazelton (and wife, Carina) Hanley of Evergreen, Colo.; six grandchildren; a sister, Marjorie Hanley Burrow of Dallas, Texas ; and a brother, William L. Hanley Jr. of Greenwich, Conn. A celebration of his life will be held Friday at 4 p.m. in St. Michael's of the Valley Church, Rector, with the Rev. Paul W. Gennett Jr. officiating. Friends will be received at the Rolling Rock Club in Ligonier following the service. Interment in St. Michael's of the Valley Church Cemetery. Evelyn Jane Hartman, 95, died Monday, July 24, 2000, in Vincentian Regency, McCandless. Born April 16, 1905, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Louis V. and Grace McGill Hartman. Miss Hartman was a retired elementary school teacher from the Hartman School of North Braddock. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Highland, McCandless. Survivors include a sister, Grace Watson of Southern Pines, N.C.; a nephew; three nieces; several great-nieces and great-nephews; two great-nephews; and a great-great-niece. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Hartman; a brother, Victor Hartman; and a nephew. There will be no visitation. A memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in St. John's Lutheran Church of Highland, 311 Cumberland Road, McCandless, with the Rev. Donald D. Anderson, pastor, officiating. Anna Marie Hurley, 83, died Tuesday, July 25, 2000, in Mercy Hospital. Born Dec. 22, 1916 in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late John and Bridget Hurley. Mrs. Hurley was retired from Divine Providence Hospital's housekeeping department. Survivors include a son, Robert Hurley of Oregon; a daughter, Judith Gray of the North Side; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in T.B. DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, 806 Perry Highway, Ross. He was born May 3, 1929, in Calumet, a son of the late Andrew A. and Veronica Kunitz Kissell. Prior to retirement, he had been employed by the Brown Boveri Co. of South Greensburg. He was a member of the Church of St. Paul, Greensburg, and American Legion Post 981 of South Greensburg. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Andrew Kissell; and two sisters , Sophie Brinker and Evelyn Luckage. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy "Dutchie" Dziedzickie Kissell; two daughters , Valeria Kissell and her husband, Tim Knoebel, of Butler and Diane and her husband, Michael Cepullio, of Greensburg; three grandchildren, Nicole Cepullio and Tara Cepullio and Michael Knoebel-Kissell; six sisters , Mary Polcha of Mt. Pleasant, Veronica Morris of Greensburg, Margaret Muchoney of Norvelt, Ann Yasher of Parma, Ohio, Helen Nader of Irwin and Catherine Cibulas of Norvelt; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 516 Stanton at Green streets, Greensburg, Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A blessing service will be held in the funeral home Saturday at 9 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in the Church of St. Paul, Greensburg, with the Rev. Daniel C. Mahoney as celebrant.
