Mary J. Stehle died at the age of 94 after a brief illness on Feb. 18, 2008. A lifelong resident of Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of Anton and Emilie (Emma) Veverka, both deceased, and the widow of Edward A. Stehle. She was predeceased by her brothers, Joseph, John, and Anthony Ververka and her grandson Christian D. Stehle. She was devoted to her family and is survived by her son, Edward R. Stehle, and his wife Alberta of Lawrenceville, NJ and her daughter, Susan Romanot, and her husband Peter of Woodbury, MN. Lebanon, Kate (Dan) Parish of Peterborough NH, Dan (Deb) of Old Lime CT, Beth (Rick) Fisher of Durham NC, Mick (Karen) of Elmira NY, and Tom (Priscilla) of Crafton; loving grandmother of Daniel, Michael, Kerry, Erin, Colleen, Liz, Mary, Eileen, Erica, John, Margaret, Claire, Teresa, Patrick, Heather, Frank, Christi, Rose, Joe, Nellwyn, Cullen, Brigid, Catherine, Heather, Ben, Kelly, Anne, Matt, Ben, Jacob, Julia, Alana and Joy; and 16 great grandchildren; also survived by her sisters Marie Reno, Janet (Phil) Fagan, Marcella (Hal) Link; and in-laws Joseph Hagan and Larry (Marge) Hagan and many nieces and nephews. The joy of her life was her family. Dorothy took great pride in each accomplishment of her children and grandchildren. For 33 years, Dorothy was an enthusiastic volunteer in Saint Clair Hospitals Gift Shop, managing and buying jewelry and earning the award for 20,000+ hours of service. She was an accomplished craftswoman knitting crocheting for family and charities.
