Caroline Tuttle, Mars

Caroline Tuttle, 83, died Wednesday, July 19, 2000. Born Jan. 8, 1917, in Washington , Pa., she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Evelyn Bruno Pais. Mrs. Tuttle was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church of Highland, Cumberland Road, Pittsburgh. Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn Ladebu of Mars; a son, Robert L. Tuttle Jr. of Roswell, Ga.; a brother, Ernest Pais of Wilkinsburg; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Tuttle, and a sister, Edith Sutton. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in McDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars. Service will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday in St. John Lutheran Church of Highland, Cumberland Road. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Gary M. Vranich, West Mifflin

Gary M. Vranich, 43, of West Mifflin, on Wednesday, July 19, 2000. Son of Florence (Chinchor) Vranich and the late Henry Vranich of West Mifflin. Also survived by three sisters , Karen Zivinsky of Munhall, Evelyn Hays of Evansville, Ind., and Marilyn Vranich of West Mifflin; three aunts; three nieces and two nephews. Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the GEORGE IRVIN GREEN FUNERAL HOME INC., 3511 Main St., Munhall. Mass of Christian Burial from Resurrection Roman Catholic Church Monday at 10 a.m.

Jeanette Garcher Zosky, Brownsville

Jeanette Garcher Zosky, 70, of Brownsville, died Wednesday, July 19, 2000, at her home. Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park St., Brownsville, Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., where a prayer service will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Brownsville, with the Rev. Father James Petrovsky as celebrant. Interment to follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Charles F. Berg Jr., M.D.
Woodstock, Georgia

Charles F. Berg Jr., M.D., 73, of Woodstock, Ga., died Saturday, July 22, 2000. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie W. Berg. He is survived by a son, the Rev. Andrew Berg of Mississippi; a daughter, Virginia Christman Bates of Marietta, Ga.; seven grandchildren; his stepmother, Mrs. Mary Berg of Pittsburgh; and four brothers , Robert Berg of Florida, David Berg of Rhode Island, William Berg of California and Tommy Berg. He practiced cardiology in Coral Gables, Fla., from 1960 to 1991. He was president of the South Miami Hospital from 1972 to 1973, chief of medicine of South Miami Hospital three times, and a member of the South Miami Foundation. He attended Culver military Academy from 1942 to 1944, the University of Pittsburgh from 1944 to 1948, and the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine from 1952 to 1956. He was a member of the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity at the University of Pittsburgh. He was a U.S. Marine veteran of World War II from 1944 to 1945. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 25, at 3:30 p.m. in the East Cobb Presbyterian Church, 4616 Roswell Road Northeast, Marietta, Ga. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Town Hills Community Church, 425 Ernest Barrett Parkway, Suite F, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Arrangements by the H.M. Leona B. Blume
Dormont

Leona B. Blume, 90, of Dormont died on Friday, July 21, 2000 in UPMC Passavant, McCandless. She was born October 27, 1909. She is survived by nieces and nephews. Mrs. Blume was preceded in death by her husband, William Blume; three sisters , Irene Raab, Magdalynn Delp, and Clara Rosswell, one brother; Edward McCluskey. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in T. B. DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, 806 Perry Highway, Ross. A Christian Funeral Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday in St. Catherine of Sweden Church, Hampton. Interment in North Side Catholic Cemetery, Ross. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Jean Marie Chamberlain

Jean Marie Chamberlain, 65, of Derry, died Friday, July 21, 2000, in Latrobe Area Hospital. She was born June 26, 1935, in Latrobe, a daughter of Luella Waldron Kozar Franchock of Derry and the late Stephen Kozar. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Derry, and was a loving wife, mother , and grandmother. In addition to her mother , she is survived by her husband of 44 years, Edgar H. Chamberlain; four sons , Edward Michael and his wife, Sue, of Greensburg, Jeffrey Miles and his wife, Mary, of Rock Hill, S.C., Timothy Raymond and his wife, Dawn, of Greensburg and David Brian and his wife, Colleen, of Derry; two daughters , Gloria Jean and her husband, Bob Dell, of Latrobe and Paula Ann and her husband, Greg Rager, of Derry; three brothers , Stephen and his wife, Betty Kozar, of Derry RD1, Edward and his wife, Barbara Kozar, of Blairsville and Michael and his wife, Leona Franchock, of Latrobe; three sisters , Betty Lou and her husband, Ralph "Butch" Hunter, of Greensburg, Maryann and her husband, Ronald Baker, of Latrobe and Judy Lee Lynch of Derry RD1; seven grandchildren, Jacob, Lindsay, Robert, Zachary, Stefanie, Emily and Gregory; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Sunday and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the McCABE FUNERAL HOME, 300 W. Third Ave., Derry. Funeral arrangements will be announced. Memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Derry.

G.A. Niel Ciorra, of Penn Hills, on Thursday, July 20, 2000. Beloved husband of the late Josephine M. (Bruno). Father of Judy Halterlein and Neal Ciorra. Grandfather of Jennifer and Michael Halterlein, Mark, Jeffrey and the late Jennie Ciorra. Brother of Theresa Giarnelli, Raymond and James Ciorra and the late Michelina Filoso, Philomena Macioce and Anthony Ciorra. Mr. Ciorra was a retired Penn Hills police officer and a member of Brotherhood Fort Pitt Masonic Lodge #635 and Pittsburgh Syria Temple. Friends received at the WILLIAM F. Angeline Circosta, 87, of Penn Hills, died Thursday, July 20, 2000 at her residence in Penn Hills. She was born in Pittsburgh on November 30, 1912. She is survived by three daughters , Theresa Borish, Nancy Spagnol, and Rosemarie Sloan; two sons , Larry Circosta, and Joseph Circosta; one sister, Nellie Fatta; thirteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Circosta. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday in SOXMAN FUNERAL HOMES, LTD., in Roth Chapel, 7450 Saltsburg Road, Penn Hills. A Christian Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Susanna Church. Interment in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Penn Hills.

Patricia Lee (Voltz) Esken
Latrobe

Patricia Lee (Voltz) Esken, 39, of Latrobe, died Thursday, July 20, 2000. She was born Oct. 23, 1960, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of William Thomas Voltz of Blairsville and Joanne P. (Noonan) Voltz of Pittsburgh. Survivors include a son, James A. Esken; two daughters , Jennifer Lynn Esken and Christina M. Esken; a brother, William T. Voltz of McKeesport; and four sisters , Sharon Voltz of McKeesport, Carrie Guerico of Manor, Robin Voltz of Whitaker and Renea Sharkey of Pittsburgh. Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the E.J. RODGERS FUNERAL HOME, 140 Race St., Manor, where services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Darlene Williams officiating. Interment Brush Creek Cemetery.

Edward F. Fatla
Mt. Pleasant

Edward F. Fatla, 80, of Mt. Pleasant RD4, died Saturday, July 22, 2000, in the Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. He was born Nov. 20, 1919, in Mt. Pleasant, a son of the late George Sr. and Cecylia Gocek Fatla. He was a graduate of the former Hurst High School, where he was a member of the varsity football team. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Modulus Corp. and Permali Inc., both of Mt. Pleasant. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Army as a staff sergeant. He was a member of the Mt. Pleasant VFW Post 3368 and a member of the Transfiguration Roman Catholic Church, Mt. Pleasant. Mr. Fatla had a lifelong interest in airplanes, and he restored and collected vintage airplanes. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Mary Fatla; and three brothers , George Jr., Matthew and Frank Fatla. He is survived by a brother, Leo Fatla of Greensburg; and the following nieces and nephews: Mark, Stephen, Kathy, Valerie, Sandra and Sherry. Friends will be received in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 406 E. Washington St., Mt. Pleasant, Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A blessing service will be held in the funeral home Tuesday at 11:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at noon in the Transfiguration R.C. Church, Mt. Pleasant, with the Rev. James Clark as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Transfiguration Parish Cemetery. military rites will be conducted at the graveside by VFW Post 3368 of Mt. Pleasant.

Ann M. (Clark) Haas, 84, of Penn Hills, died Saturday, July 22, 2000 in Forbes Hospice, Pittsburgh. She was born on February 17, 1916, in Found Du Lac, Wisconsin. She is survived by one niece, Nancy Kavelaris; one nephew, Robert Grashear. Ann was a member of Alcoma Golf Club and worked for fifteen years in realty at Crawford Realty. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard G. Haas; her parents, Harold Clark and Amelia Gordon. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. MONDAY ONLY in SOXMAN FUNERAL HOMES, LTD., Roth Chapel, 7450 Saltsburg Road, Penn Hills. A Christian Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Susanna Church, Penn Hills. Interment in Allegheny Cemetery, Lawrenceville.

Christine Thom Kelley

Formerly of Alaska

Christine Thom Kelley, a daughter of Kate and Hilary Kelley of Greensburg, died Friday, July 21, 2000, at Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. She was born Dec. 31, 1946, in Youngstown, Ohio. Chrissy had a wonderful zest for life. She had great compassion for the sick and dying for whom she cared as a nurse at Providence Hospital in Anchorage, Alaska. Chrissy was an avid doll collector and enthusiast. She loved hiking, reading, children, whales and most of all her family. Chrissy never forgot a holiday or birthday and she was the glue that bound her family together. She was continually awe inspired by the Alaskan outdoors which she called home for many years. Chrissy was preceded in death by her Father , Leonard Thom. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her sisters , Kitty and Tom Nutter of Kingwood, W.Va., Mary Kelley of Nevis, West Indies, Joyce Kelley and Tim Russell of Columbus, Mont., Michele Kelley and Pius Schenker of Parker, Colo., and Sheila Kelley and Richard Schiff of Los Angeles, Calif.; brothers , Leonard Kelley and Laura of Anchorage, Alaska, Gerry Kelley and Cindy of Philippi, W.Va., and Patrick Kelley and Irene of Hermitage, Tenn.; nieces and nephews whom she dearly cherished, Michaela Canterbury, Kaylen Kelley, Hilary and Michael Nutter, Kelley and Issac Crawford, Nolan, Katie and Lenny Kelley, Justyna and Sara Kelley, Kane, Sean, Seth and Chloe Russell and Gus Schiff; and grandnephew, Conner Canterbury. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to either St. Anne Home, 685 Angela Drive, Greensburg, PA 15601 or The Leonard Thom Memorial Scholarship Fund, Sandusky High School, 2130 Hayes Ave., Sandusky, OH 44870. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, July 24, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Church, Greensburg. Those attending should go directly to the church. Goodbye sweet Chrissy. We love you. Alvin P.
