Anna Gugliuzza 85 of Palmer Township died on September 19, 2011 at Easton Hospital, Wilson Boro., PA
Born: She was born in Roseto, PA, she was the daughter of late Anzelmo and Laura DePhamplis DePalma.
Personal: Anna was the wife of Frank S. Gugliuzza, they celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary in June. She retired from the Lehigh Valley Postal Service in 1987.
Memberships: She was a member of St. Jane’s Catholic Church in Palmer Twp. and also was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and AARP.
Survivors: In addition to her husband Frank, Anna is survived by daughter, Mary Ann Gugliuzza of Bethlehem Township; Son, Thomas and his wife Dawn, Grandson Drew Gugliuzza all of Bethlehem Township. Step Grand-Daughter Tomasina Corley-McGuire wife of Timothy McGuire, three Step Great Grand-Children Tyler, Travis, and Tayler McGuire all of Milford New Jersey. Four Brothers Cosimo DePalma of Allentown, PA, Anthony DePalma of Bangor, PA, Louis DePalma of Mechanicsburg, PA, John Deplma of Bangor, PA and many nieces and nephews. A brother Daniel DePalma of East Bangor, PA died earlier.
Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 11:00am in the church, 4049 Hartley Ave. Palmer Twp. Interment will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine, Palmer Twp. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of the Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas St. Palmer Twp.
Norman Earl Simmons
(May 16, 1926 - September 23, 2011)
Norman Earl Simmons, 85 of Easton, PA, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, September 23rd.
Born: Norman was born on May 16, 1926, in Easton, to the late Willis and Flora Everitt Simmons.
Personal: Norman was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Frances Mae Bentz Simmons in 1998. He was retired from Ecolaire Condenser in West Easton, PA and Shruty’s Pub, in Wilson Borough. Norman was a talented carpenter who enjoyed making toys for his grandson, but also made small scale models of historical buildings in and around Easton. There are several on display, including ones at the George Taylor House, the National Canal Museum and the Seipsville Hotel to name a few. He would just look at the buildings from various angles and then go home and reproduce them in exacting detail using wood scraps and common household items.
Memberships: He was a lifetime member of the Fleas Club of Easton, and a lifelong blood donor having earned his 6 gallon donor pin prior to his heart attack in 1991.
Survivors: Norman is survived by his daughters Mary Lou Schratt and her husband Joseph of Cape Coral, FL, Norma Jean Simmons and her husband Gary Crouse of Ocean City, MD, Lu Ann Brandle and her husband Carl of Lower Nazareth, PA; grandson Sean Brandle of Bushkill Twp., and step-grandson Joseph Schratt, Jr. and his wife Michelle, step-great-grandson Joseph Schratt III of Canonsburg, PA, step-grandson Sean Crouse and his wife Kris, step-great-grandson Connor Crouse of Binghamton, NY, brother Edward Simmons of Nazareth, and many nieces and nephews. A brother Willis Simmons of Lorain Ohio, and three sisters, Laura Simmons Muretta, Pauline Simmons Kisselbach, and Augusta Simmons Frace, all of Easton died earlier.
Services: Calling hours will be held on Monday from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm in Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp.). A funeral service will be held on Monday at 12:00 noon in the funeral home. Interment will be at Northampton Memorial Shrine, Palmer Twp.

Gilbert Joseph Glassic

Gilbert Joseph Glassic, 80, of Easton, PA, passed away on Friday, September 23rd in the New Eastwood Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
Born: Gilbert was born on June 17, 1931, in Wilkes-Barre, PA, a son of the late Joseph and Mary Choker, Glassic.
Personal: Gilbert served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He worked as a laborer for TR&W.;
Survivors: Gilbert is survived by his sister Lillian Healey of Easton.

Albert Fiume
(Died September 9, 2011)
Albert N. Fiume, 87 of Bethlehem Twp., passed away Friday September 9, 2011 in Easton Hospital, Wilson Boro.
Born: He was born on April 29, 1924 in Jersey City, NJ a son of the late Modesto and Anna Comes Fiume.
Personal: Albert and his wife, the former Helene Martinique celebrated 60 years of marriage on June 16th. Albert was employed as a detective for Jersey City Police Department retiring in 1986 and later as an investigator for Hudson County Board of Elections retiring in 1999. Albert served our country in the US Navy from 1942 to 1953. He enjoyed football, especially the NY Giants.
Memberships: Albert was of the Catholic faith. He was a member of the ELKS Club and VFW both of Palm Coast, FL.
Survivors: In addition to his wife, Albert is survived by his daughter Anna Gherardi and husband Jerry of Bayonne, NJ; sons Modesto and wife Susan Fiume of Bethlehem Twp., Albert Jr. and wife Rosa of Palm Coast, FL; grandchildren Albert III, Jeremy. Brothers Alfred, Victor, Paul, Cosmo, Lenny, Danny and a sister Anna all preceded Albert in death.
Services: Calling hours will be held on Tuesday evening from 6:00pm until 8:00pm in the Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas St. Palmer Twp. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday morning at 11:00am in the funeral home. Interment will be private.

Michael L. Fritzo, 53 of Bethlehem Twp. passed away Saturday September 10, 2011 in Easton Hospital, Wilson Boro.
Born: He was born on September 26, 1958 in Easton a son of Elizabeth (Schurz) Fritzo of Bethlehem Twp., and the late Michael John Fritzo.
Personal: Michael attended Freedom High School.
Survivors: In addition to his mother, Michael is survived by sisters Lisa Genua of Washington, NJ, Michelle Fritzo of Nazareth, PA; nephew, Ryan Genua and wife Brandy of Nazareth, Eric Genua of Nazareth; a niece Megan Genua of Bethlehem. He is also survived by 3 great nieces, aunts, uncles and many cousins.

Alice A. Abahazy, 89, of Easton, PA, passed away on Sunday, September 11th in Lehigh Valley Hospital.
Born: Alice was born on September 6, 1922 in Upper Black Eddy, PA, a daughter of the late Jacob and Nellie Godown Pursell.
Personal: Alice was a cutter for Aries Electronics in Frenchtown, NJ, retiring in 1983.
Memberships: She was a member of First United Church of Christ, Milford, NJ., VFW Post 7857 in Milford, and the Frenchtown New Jersey Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors: Alice is survived by her husband, Paul J. Abahazy; son Paul D. Abahazy and his wife Colleen of Easton. She is predeceased by her brothers Austin, Sanford, Charles, Earl, Carl, Lawrence, Willard and Franklin Pursell.

Peter J. Guadagnino, Sr. passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2011 in Old Orchard Manor Care.
Born: Peter was born on December 26, 1927 in Easton, PA, a son of the late Pasquale and Violet Martino Guadagnino.
Personal: Peter was a chemical worker for JT Baker Chemical, retiring in 1988. He graduated from Easton High School, class of 1945, and also served in the U.S. Army

Survivors: Peter is survived by his wife of 45 years, the former Carmen Bitar; sons Peter Guadagnino, Jr., and his wife Ileana of Mountainside, NJ., Raphael Guadagnino of Bethlehem Twp.; sisters Frances Pauletti of Forks Twp., Lucy Sokol of Cedar Crest, Rosemarie Semonche of Wilmington, DE; brother Louis Guadagnino of Wilmington, DE; grandchildren Giancarlo and Isabella Guadagnino.

Born: Emma was born in Allentown, PA, a daughter of the late John and Fannie Schwartz.
Personal: Emma was a cafeteria worker for Wood Catering Service at Northampton Community College, prior to that she was employed as a telephone operator for the former Bell Telephone and Pomeroy’s Department Store. She was a graduate of Allentown Central Catholic High School, class of 1943.
Memberships: Emma was a member of St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church.
Survivors: Emma is survived by her husband of 64 years, Bernard J. Rafferty; daughters Patricia M. Williams and husband Rev. Willie Williams of Easton, Rosemary E. Rafferty of Allentown; daughter-in-law E. Audrey Rafferty of Hellertown; sister Elsie Horvath of Allentown; brother Henry Schwartz of New Tripoli; grandchildren Willie L. James A. Sinko, 58, of Forks Twp., passed away on Saturday, August 18th in Hahnemann Hospital, Philadelphia, PA, under the care of the Cancer Treatment Centers of America.
Born: James was born in Philipsburg, NJ, a son of Alex and Virginia Sinko of Alpha, NJ.
Personal: James was a biotechnichian for ImClone Systems in Branchburg, NJ, prior to that he was employed at Hoffman LaRoche, DSM in Belvidere, NJ. He was a graduate of Phillipsburg High School, class of 1972. He was an avid fisherman, outdoorsman, and gardener. Jim had a heart of gold and was always willing to lend a hand to his friends and family.
Memberships: James was of the Presbyterian Faith.
Survivors: James is survived by his wife of 38 years, Susan (Merring) Sinko; son Jamie M. Sinko and companion Jennifer Due of East Bangor, PA; sister Susan Lawler of Alpha, NJ; brother Gary Sinko of Alpha, NJ; and a “grandson” Kevin.
