J. Hobart "Hobie" Chivers Jr., 74, died Wednesday, July 19, 2000 at his home in Scott. He was born December 16, 1925 in Dunkirk, New York. Mr. Chivers is survived by two daughters , Lorraine Tomacari-Fortier, and Roberta Aronson; one son, J. Hobart Chivers III; one brother, James Chivers; seven grandchildren, Esther, Andrew, Rachel, Laura, Elizabeth, Jeffrey, and Katherine. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances J. Chivers, and a brother, Jack Chivers. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday at LAUGHLIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL INC., 222 Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon. Peter J. Faletto Jr., Herminie
Peter J. "Pete" Faletto Jr., 85, of Herminie (Keystone), died Wednesday, July 19, 2000, at Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. He was born July 6, 1915, in Evanstown, a son of the late Peter Sr. and Aurelia (Caserio) Faletto. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a laborer for Westinghouse, East Pittsburgh. Mr. Faletto "Pete" also helped in the day-to-day operations on the Faletto family farm. Mr. Faletto was a member of St. Edward Roman Catholic Church, Herminie, and also the C.N.A. Lodge of Tennessee. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers , Charles and George Faletto; and two sisters , Terese Smith and Rose Faletto. Mr. Faletto is survived by his wife of 55 years, Helen (Gusmerotti) Faletto; two sons , Paul F. and his wife, Sharon, and Peter J. III and his wife, Margo Faletto, all of Evanstown; a daughter, Aurelia M. Sabol and her husband, Dennis, of Greensburg; and four grandchildren, Nanette, Heidi, Antonio, and Bailey. Ella Stulock Fedrow, West Newton
Ella Stulock Fedrow, 77, of West Newton, died Wednesday, July 19, 2000, at Mon Valley Hospital after a lingering illness. Born Dec. 8, 1922, in West Newton, she was a daughter of the late George and Helen Bobik Stulock. She was a true friend to many, a member of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, West Newton, and Catholic daughters of America. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 48 ½ years, Stanley Fedrow on July 8, 1992; a great-granddaughter, Rachel Ann Abbott on July 18, 1999; a sister, Mary Thompson; and special friend and cousin, Joseph Stecik. She is survived by two loving children, Jaye Ann Demczyk and her husband, Joe Jr., and Gary Fedrow and his wife, Linda, both of West Newton; four grandchildren, Jeffrey Paul Abbott and wife, Stacie, Alison Luce Fedrow, Abbey Luce Fedrow, and Roxanne Luce Fedrow; a great-grandson, Ross Alan Abbott; two sisters , Ann Ganassi and Helen Hughes, both of West Newton; and a brother, Edward Stulock of Ohio. Robert Fontanesi, North Huntingdon
Robert Fontanesi, 89, of North Huntingdon, died Monday, July, 17, 2000, in the Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. He was born May 27, 1911, in Duquesne, a son of the late Virgilio and Clotilda Vertani Fontanesi. He started out as owner of Fontanesi's Corner Grocery Store in Duquesne, and later became a self-employed carpet cleaner in the Norwin area. He was a member and Sunday school teacher of the Christian Life Church of Trafford, and prior to that, deacon and elder in the Assembly of God Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Edith Fontanesi; and nine brothers and sisters . Surviving are his wife, Martha Wampler Fontanesi; three sons , Ronald Fontanesi and his wife, Charloette, of Coraopolis, Kenneth Fontanesi and his wife, Dianne, of Annapolis, Md., and Robert Fontanesi and his wife, Roxanne, of Greensburg; four grandchildren, Cindy Borchert, Molly Duffy, Suzanne Ross and Brent Fontanesi; and a great-granddaughter Rose Duffy. Gary T. "Hoss" Hohn, 37, of Westmoreland City, died Tuesday, July 18, 2000, in Jeannette District Memorial Hospital. He was born July 30, 1962, in McKeesport, a son of Blair E. Hohn of North Huntingdon and the late Aldine P. Hohn. He was previously employed by Mar-Ray Construction Co. of Penn Hills. He was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of the Covenant of Irwin. He was also a member of the Carpenters Union Local #142 of Pittsburgh, a member of the Italian Miners Society of Hahntown and the St. Joe Polish Club of Westmoreland City. He was a former member of the Irwin Volunteer Fire Department. In addition to his Father , he is survived by his wife, Laurie Weber Hohn; three children, Gary T. Jr., Amber Hohn and Lance, all at home; three sisters , Cindy Dubich of Jeannette, Debbie Woleslagle of North Huntingdon and Sherry DeBone of Pitcairn; and three brothers , Blair E. and Keith Hohn, both of Trafford, and Steve Hohn of Florida. Esther E. Johnson, 92, of Youngwood, formerly of Coudersport, died Tuesday, July 18, 2000, in Hempfield Manor, Greensburg. She was born Jan. 30, 1908, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Carl G. and Gerda F. Thornblade Bowman. She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Hunker. She graduated from the Westmoreland Hospital Training School for Nursing Class of 1930. Survivors include her husband, Burdette O. Johnson; three sisters , Luella Glunt of Greensburg, Betty Allwine of Hummelstown and Lenore DeJaiffe of Greensburg; and several nieces and nephews. Jeanine D. DeArmitt Jordan, 67, of Greensburg RD2, died Wednesday, July 19, 2000. She was born Sept. 6, 1932, in Youngwood, a daughter of the late Walter and Loretta Eichner DeArmitt. She was a member of the Community Church of Hecla and the Appalachian Wagon Train. She was previously employed by the Mark Lines Bus Co. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Pamela Rae Jordan. She is survived by her husband, Phillip "John" Jordan; her son, John E. Jordan of Alice, Pa.; a granddaughter, Julie Lynn Tideman of Greensburg RD2; two great-grandchildren; two brothers , Walter DeArmitt of Greensburg and Richard DeArmitt of Tarrs; and her special friend and caregiver for many years, Mrs. William (Mary Ann) Mizikar of Mammoth. Deems L. Leasure, 52, of Salinas, Calif., died at home on Friday, June 16, 2000. Deems was born March 9, 1948, in Herminie, a son of the late Jacob D. and Dorothy Deems Leasure. He was a 1966 graduate of the Yough School District; served for four years in the U.S. Army (stationed for a time in Korea); and was employed by the U.S. Postal Service for 23 years in Salinas. He is survived by his wife, Kathe Wall Leasure of Salinas; a daughter, Tabitha Gibson Kane of St. Louis, Mo.; two sisters , Shirley Hopkin of Herminie and Arlene Mowrey of Sunbury; and numerous nieces and nephews.
