Pennsylvania Obituary and Marriage Records, 1947-2010

Pauline Wool Marino
Pauline Wool Marino, 91, of Virginia Beach, VA, died July 29, 2002, at Virginia Beach Health and Rehabilitation Center, VA.
She was born in Williamsport on Feb. 22, 1911, to Joseph Casale and Angeline Cillo.
She was a member of the Holy Family Church in Virginia Beach, VA, and the Church of St. Ann’s in Williamsport.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Frank Wool, and second husband, Thomas Marino.
Surviving her are sons Frank J. Wool of Virginia Beach, VA and Jack L. Wool of Williamsport, daughter Mary Tobias of Atlanta, GA, six grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, in the Church of St. Ann’s, 1220 Northway Rd., Williamsport. The Rev. Michael McCormick will officiate. Friends may call the church from 10 to 11 a.m, Monday. The family will provide the flowers.
Memorial contributions may be made to: The American Diabetes Association, Always and Forever Memorial Program, P. O. Box 2680 North Canton, Ohio 44720.
Crouse Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Dolores K. Cheatle
Dolores K. Speakman Cheatle, of 1168 High St., Williamsport, died Sunday, July 28, 2002, in Williamsport Hospital.
Born May 1, 1935, in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of Arthur and Catherine Schaal Speakman.
She was a former resident of Bucks County, and she graduated from Frenchtown H. S., in New Jersey.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years Carl G. Cheatle; a daughter Michelle A. (Richard) Harmon of Muncy; a son Matthew E. (Patricia) Cheatle of Williamsport; 5 grandchildren: Adria and Aaron Harmon; Allison, Andrew, and Sarah Cheatle; and a sister Kathleen Christ of Lake Huntington, NY.
A private memorial service was held in the Chapel at Wildwood Cemetery. Arrangements by Sanders Mortuary.

Matilda V. Meredith
Matilda V. Meredith, 93, of Lock Haven, died Sat., July 27.
Preceded in death by her husband and daughter in 1966, she is survived by George E. Bauchman whom she reared, two grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, ten great great grandchildren and four great great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Fri., at Helt Funeral Chapel, Mill Hall. Burial will be private. Visitation will be 10:30 to 11 a.m.

Erwin G. Sherman
Erwin G. Sherman, 86, of Wellsboro, Pa., died Oct. 2, 2002.
Friends may call at the Wilston Funeral Home, Mansfield, Pa., from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday. Funeral services will follow there, Sunday at 2 p.m. Complete obituary information may be seen at www.wilstonfuneralhome.com “OBITUARIES”

Thomas W. Jones
Thomas W. Jones, age 59, died Oct. 2, 2002, at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Johnstown, Pa. He was born on October 18, 1942 in Fort Riley, Kan., a son of Elmer W. and Dorothy H. (Mase) Jones. He had been an employee of Blalock Electric Service Inc., Johnstown, Pa.
Thomas is survived by his mother, Dorothy H. Jones and her dear friend, Kenneth Clark and family; his dear friend, Dorothy J. Varner and family of Johnstown, Pa.; a son, Mark (Amy) Jones of Horseheads, N.Y.; two daughters, Kim Marvin of Elmira, N.Y. and Traci Jones of Ithaca, N.Y; grandchildren, Amanda, Marvin, Zachary and Victoria Jones of Elmira, N.Y.; a sister, Patricia A. (Benjamin) Hutcheson of Mansfield, Pa.; niece and nephew, Craig (Karen) Hutcheson and Lisa Hutcheson; a great nephew, Tre’; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer Jones in July 1980.
Friends are invited to call at the John Henderson Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave., Johnstown, Pa. from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Oct., 4, 2002. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2002 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery.

Bonnie J. Paulhamus
Bonnie J. Paulhamus, of 1110 Fairview Drive, Montoursville, died Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2002, at the Williamsport Hospital. Born in Williamsport, she was the daughter of Sanford and Velma Boone Huff.
Bonnie was the manager of the former Huff’s Jeep in Williamsport. She was a member of the Grottoettes, the Amaranth, and the Travelers Protective Association.
She was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Williamsport.
She is survived by her husband, H. Melvin Paulhamus with whom she celebrated 27 years of marriage, May 31, 2002; by her son, Jeffrey S. (Christie) Huff of Montoursville; a sister, Beverly Perez of Montoursville; and three grandchildren, Kyle, Mitchell, and Stephanie.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville with Rev. Bethany P. Wood officiating. Burial will be in Blanchard Christian Cemetery, Blanchard. Friends will be received at the funeral home Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m.

Clarence H. Rathmell
Clarence H. Rathmell, Jr., 76, of 10 E. Lincoln St., Muncy, died Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2002, at the Williamsport Hospital.
He and his wife, the former Pearl E. McManigal, were married Oct. 5, 1944. They would have observed their 58th wedding anniversary this Saturday.
He retired in 1985 after 41 years with the former Sprout-Waldron, now Andritz, Muncy. He was a member of Sprout-Waldron’s Quarter Century Club.
Following graduation from Muncy High School in 1944, he joined the U.S. Navy. He served aboard the aircraft carrier, U.S.S. Lexington, and was a veteran of World War II.
He was a member of the Roland Ritter Post #268, American Legion, Muncy. A member of the Muncy Lodge #299, F&AM, he served as Worshipful Master in 1966. He was a member of the Scottish Rite, Williamsport, and the Warrior Run Royal Arch Chapter #246.
Clarence was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Muncy.
Born July 17, 1926, in Williamsport, he was the son of Clarence H. and Mable Irene Confer Rathmell, Sr.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are one son and daughter-in-law, Roger S. and Betsy Rathmell, of St. Louis, MO; and one granddaughter, Carrie E. Rathmell of Philadelphia.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Wallis-Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy. Officiating will be his pastor, the Rev. Michael R. Gardy. Interment will be in Muncy Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Shirley D. Parkansky
Shirley D. Parkansky, 76, of Palmer Township, passed away Thursday, September 11, 2008 at St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill, Pa. Born: On October 15, 1931 in Easton, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Helen Musselman Athanas. Personal: Shirley was the wife of Bernard F. Parkansky. She was a homemaker who lived in the Easton area her whole life. She graduated from Easton High School, class of 1949. She was an avid sports fan, always loyal to the Easton Red Rovers. She favorite sports teams were the Philadelphia Phillies and Philadelphia Eagles. She loved to dance. Memberships: She attended First Evangelical Church of Easton. She was a member of West Easton AA. Survivors: In addition to her husband, she is survived by cousins. A half brother, Robert Hager, died earlier. Services: A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at a time to be announced by the Rupell Funeral Home, Phillipsburg. There will be no calling hours.

Peter A. Lupacchino
Peter A. Lupacchino, 72, of 1191 Morgan Ave., Williamsport, died Oct. 2, 2002, at the Williamsport Hospital. Born on Oct. 2, 1930, he was a son to Giovanni and Filomena Lupacchino.
Peter was Proprietor of the Keystone Hotel. He was a member of the Church of St. Ann, Knights of Columbus #366, and a 1949 graduate of the former St. Mary’s High School.
He was involved in Little League for over 50 years, an uncle for the Little League World Series for 45 years, and was elected to the West Branch Sports Hall of Fame in 1991.
A Korean War Air Force veteran, he had served in the Air Force Reserves for 36 years, and was also a member of the Air Force Sergeants Association, Korean War Veterans of Lycoming County, American Legion, and Keystone League.
Peter was a Civil Defense Chairman of Williamsport and was Chairman of Williamsport Recreation for 18 years.
He and his wife, the former Margaret Greenya, would have celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary on Oct. 3, 2002.
He is survived by sons, Joseph A. of Seminole, Fla., Peter M. of Jersey Shore, and Michael J. of Langhorne, Pa.; daughters, Donna Magill of Arlington, VA. and Margaret DiFrancesco of Williamsport; brother, Frank of Williamsport; sister, Jenny Caruso of Lairdsville, Pa.; and six grandchildren, Shane Heydrich, Amber, Joshua, and Christina Lupacchino, and Gina and Nicholas DiFrancesco.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in the church, 1223 Northway Road, with his pastor, Rev. Andrew Kurovsky, officiating. There will be no visitation. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Montoursville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Ann’s School, 1225 Northway Road, Williamsport, PA 17701 or the charity of your choice.

Joan K. Klinger
Mrs. Joan K. Klinger, 60, of 1809 Elmhurst Ave., Jersey Shore, died Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2002, in the Jersey Shore Hospital Emergency Room. Born Feb. 20, 1942 in Sunbury, she was the daughter of John Lazeski and the former Dezna Zartman.
She is survived by her husband, William J. Klinger, united in marriage Sept. 16, 1961.
For many years she was a member of the Jersey Shore American Legion Auxiliary, Women of the Moose and the Church of Saint Luke.
Also surviving are two sons, Michael W. Klinger of Salladasburg, Robert J. Klinger of Jersey Shore; two daughters, Susan K. Klinger of Lockwood, Mo. and Christi A. Klinger of Jersey Shore; eight grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; one brother, John Lazeski of Sunbury; and two sisters, Mary A. Miller of Lewisburg and Bette R. Hoy of Antes Fort.
Private family memorial services will be Saturday, Oct. 5, 2002 at 10 a.m. in the Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore. No public visitation. Burial will be in the Jersey Shore Cemetery. Rev. Andrew Hvozdovic will officiate.

Mary M. Thompson
Mary M. Thompson, 88, of 805 Woodland Ave., Williamsport, died Thursday, Oct. 3, 2002, in the Williamsport Home. Her husband of 54 years, Raymond A. Thompson Sr., died in 1988.
Born July 2, 1914, in Shamokin Dam, she was a daughter of George and Katie Loudenslager Litchard. Mary was a graduate of Sunbury High School and a member of New Hope United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Raymond A. Jr. and Virginia Thompson of Williamsport; three grandchildren, Stephen (Moya) Thompson, Cheryl (Tom) Thomsen, and Caryn (Tony) Driebelbies; and five great-grandchildren, Danny, Christy and Matt Thomsen and Megan and Erin Driebelbies.
Private graveside services will be held in Wildwood Cemetery at the convenience of the family with the Rev. M. Joyce Gensib officiating.
