Paul Joseph Moore, Jr.
Paul Joseph Moore, Jr., 31, of Clifton Heights, Pa., lost his long battle with addiction on Sunday, August 7, 2016.
A self-employed barber and music engineer, he graduated from Interboro High School (2004), Empire Beauty School, and Full Sail University for the Recording Arts. He is a proud descendent of the Lakota Oglala Nation of North Dakota.
He is predeceased by his father, Paul Joseph Moore, Sr. and his niece, Isabella Aislyn Kelly.
He is survived by his loving mother, Brenda Anne Moore; his step-father, Jesse James Johnson; his brother, Brian Michael Kelly and sister-in-law, Olivia Tainter; his nephews, James Kelly and George Kelly; his grandmother, Alice Buck; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Paul will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Family and friends are invited to his viewing and visitation on Friday, August 12th, from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the Griffith Funeral Chapel, 520 Chester Pike, in Norwood, Pa. 19074.
His burial will be private.

Charles Phillip Hammes, Jr.
Charles Phillip Hammes, Jr., 86, a resident of Wallingford, Pa., passed away peacefully on August 4, 2016 at Riddle Memorial Hospital with his loving family by his side.
He was born on September 26, 1929 at Roxborough Memorial Hospital. He was the son of the late Charles P. Hammes, Sr. and Helen Hammes Egner (nee Smith).
Charles graduated from Roxborough High School, where he was the star pitcher on their baseball team. He then attended West Chester State College and graduated from Taylor Columbia Business College. He served in the National Guard for a period of time.
Charles was a bookkeeper/accountant for the MBA and then Conrail for a total of 35 years and retired in 1992.
He was a member of the Norwood United Methodist Church for 43 years and served the church in various capacities over the years. A devotee of Gilbert and Sullivan operettas, he also loved sports, reading, puzzles, and playing pinochle.
Charles was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather to whom his family meant everything.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Collins Hammes, to whom he was married 48 years; his daughter, Holly Hammes Goldsborough; his son-in-law Glenn; and his granddaughter, Hope.
His Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, August 10th, at 11 A.M. at the Norwood United Methodist Church, 315 Chester Pike, in Norwood, Pa. 19074.
Friends may visit with his family on Wednesday, August 10th, from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. at the church.
His burial will be in Arlington Cemetery in Drexel Hill, Pa.

Norma Ruth Sprague (Bezold)
Norma Sprague (nee Bezold), age 60, of Lester passed away on July 24, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family and close friends.
The daughter of Charles and Alice Bezold, she graduated from Interboro High School, Class of ’74. Norma was a devoted wife and mother, not only to her own children but also to their friends.
She loved nature, was an avid gardener and took care of many stray animals, in addition to her three rescue dogs.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph; her sons Chris and Vince; her daughters-in-law Hannah and Allison; and her grandsons, Caleb and Benjamin.
Family and friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Thursday, July 28th, at 11 A.M. at the Griffith Funeral Chapel, 520 Chester Pike, in Norwood, Pa. 19074. Visitation will be on Thursday from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Eastlawn Cemetery in Milmont Park, Pa.

Pauline Menna
Pauline Menna, age 88, a longtime resident of Prospect Park, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2016 at the Crozer-Keystone Hospice Residence at Taylor Hospital in Ridley Park.
Born in Elmer, N.J., and raised in the Woodlyn section of Ridley Township, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Antonoff. Pauline was a graduate of the former Ridley Township High School.
She was a resident of Prospect Park since 1954, residing in the home that she and her late husband, Reggie, built together.
Pauline was a professional seamstress and also worked for a period of time in retail sales. She took great pride in her home, and continually worked with her husband to maintain their beautiful gardens. They were known in the community for their seasonal Christmas and Halloween decorations, and had received “Beautification Awards” from the borough over the years.
Pauline and Reggie loved to travel, and had gone to many places across the United States including the island of St. John in the Virgin Islands with their group of devoted friends. She enjoyed the most her summers in Avalon, N.J. with her husband, family, and friends.
Most of all, family meant the most to Pauline, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she cherished the times when the family got together for holidays and birthdays. She had just celebrated her 88th birthday with her family. When her family kissed her good-bye over the years, she always lovingly replied, “Be Careful.”
Pauline was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Reggie, who passed away last October; and her sister, Florence Seeberger.
Pauline is survived by her children, Ron (Karen) Menna, Shelly (Hank) Griffith, and Holly (Scott) Butler; her grandchildren, Jamie, Lori, Tricia, Tracy, and Chelsea; her great-grandchildren, Max, Oliver, Milo, and Claudia; and her niece, Sandy; and her nephew, Steve.
A Service of Remembrance for Pauline will be held privately this week by her family.

Catherine M. "Cass" Hansen
Catherine M. “Cass” Hansen, 67, of Essington, formerly of SW Philadelphia, passed away at home on Saturday, July 16, 2016.
She was born in Philadelphia on December 5, 1948.
She was a devoted wife and mother, whose pride and joy were her grandchildren.
Cass will be sadly missed by her husband, Robert; children, Michelle (Shawn) Dooley and Erica (William) Rubincam; grandchildren, Shawn and Matthew Dooley and Mia, Joshua, Jason, and Nicholas Rubincam; siblings, Robert (Karla) Walsh, Barbara (Rick Mateu) Pompei, Rita (Joe) Damico, Terri Walsh, and Jacquie Barney.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lillian (Taylor) and Robert Walsh and sisters, Dawn, Peggy, and Carol.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 20th, at 10:30 A.M. with a viewing after 9:30 A.M. at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 208 Milmont Avenue, in Milmont Park, Pa. 19033.
Viewing also will be held on Tuesday, July 19th, from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the Griffith Funeral Chapel, 520 Chester Pike, in Norwood, Pa. 19074.
She will be laid to rest in Saints peter 7 Paul Cemetery in Springfield, Pa.
Inez Twesten
Inez Twesten (nee Boal), age 93, died peacefully on June 27, 2016 at the Masonic Villages of Lafayette Hill, Pa.
Inez was born in Langhorne, Pa. on February 4, 1923. She was the daughter of Eleanor and William Boal and had four sisters, all of whom are now deceased. She was the wife of the late Charles W. Twesten, III, who died in 2010.
Before her marriage to Charles, during World War II, she worked as a secretary at the Philadelphia Naval Yard. She lived most of her married life in Norwood, Pa. where she was very active in St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church. During her many years as a member, she served as President of St. Stephen’s Guild and also served as Director of the Altar Guild and helped with many different fund raisers. In her early years of marriage she also performed secretarial duties for her husband in his plumbing and heating business. Inez was a member of the LeVan Smith Raibley Auxiliary # 7213 of the Norwood Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Norwood Historical Society, and a volunteer at the Norwood Library.
Inez and her husband, Charles, moved to Williamstown, New Jersey in 1993. She then became a member of St. Thomas’ Episcopal Church in Glassboro, N.J. where she also served in St. Thomas’ Women’s Guild. She has resided since 2004 in the Masonic Villages in Lafayette Hill, Pa. During her years in the Masonic Village she assisted in the annual bazaar and also volunteered in the gift shop. Her years there were very good ones, surrounded by a caring staff who were always there for her in every way for the last twelve years of her life.
Inez’s hobbies during her last years included reading, knitting, crocheting, and caring for her African violets. She also recently found a lot of enjoyment coloring in adult coloring books and painting. What she loved most was being a wife, mother, and grandmother.
Inez is survived by her two children: Judith Rehm of Chester Heights, Pa. and Robert Twesten of Hillsborough, N.C. as well as her son-in-law, Charles Rehm. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Glenn Eckard of Springfield, Pa., Mark Eckard of Christiansted, St. Croix USVI, Carolyn Twesten of Hurdle Mills, N.C., Dana Twesten of Englewood, N.J. and three great-grandchildren: David and Justin Eckard of Springfield, Pa. and Campbell Eckard of Christiansted, St. Croix, USVI. Inez is also survived by twelve nieces and nephews: Sue Francis, Ed Foreaker, and Mary Jane Clark of Florida, Sallie Blackiston of Delaware, Beverly Weeks, Donna Miller, Charles Martin, David Martin, John Hershey, Susie Riecks, and Carol Joslin of California, and Patti Rothschild of Virginia.
A Memorial Service will be held at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 128 Chester Pike in Norwood, Pa. on Friday, July 8th. Calling hour will be from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. followed by Holy Eucharist at 11 A.M. Burial of her cremains will take place at Arlington Cemetery in Drexel Hill following the service.

Blanche G. Taylor
Blanche G. Taylor, 98, a resident of Secane and a former longtime resident of Essington, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2016 at Fair Acres Geriatric Center in Lima, Pa.
Born in Royal Oak, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Elias and Mary Belle Hall Taylor. She will be remembered as a woman who was devoted to her family.
She is the wife of the late Ernest Taylor. Blanche is also predeceased by her grandsons, Dean and Brian, and her sister, Ida May Milligan.
Blanche is survived by her daughters, Joan (the late John) Franco and Patricia (Mario) Potorti; her grandchildren, Joanie, Audra, Chris, Michael, Thomas, Joey, Dennis, Darren, Jerome, Ernie, Mark, and Michelle; and her several great-grandchildren.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, June 21st, at 10:30 A.M. at the Griffith Funeral Chapel, 520 Chester Pike, in Norwood, Pa. 19074.
There will be a visitation time on Tuesday from 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. at the funeral home.
Her entombment will be at Eglington Memorial Gardens in Clarksboro, N.J.

Joseph J. Scalies
Joseph J. Scalies, 83, of Prospect Park, left this world peacefully on June 10, 2016 surrounded by his family.
He was born to the late Charles and Theresa Scalies.
Joe was a retired truck driver who last worked for Kansas Beef Industries. He will be remembered as a man who was devoted to his wife and family.
He was predeceased by his sister, Regina Mondello.
SURVIVORS: He is survived by his devoted, loving wife of 59+ years, Esther (Divon). Together they have four children, Theresa (G. Lyle Long), Charles, Lisa (John Bellano), and Esther (Jim McMenamin). His grandchildren will miss his stories but keep him in their hearts forever. Joey, Lindsey, Austin, Jimmy, Zack, Chris, Gina, John, Gabrielle, Matty, and Samantha will always remember grandpop telling them he was not watching the Phillies but then giving a “play by play” account. Joe is also survived by his brother Charley (Angie); six great-grandchildren; his in-laws Peter, Carol, and Joan Divon; and many nieces and nephews who loved Uncle Joe.
FUNERAL MASS: Will be celebrated on Thursday, June 16th, at 11 A.M. at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, on Mohawk Avenue, In Norwood, Pa.

Diana M. Snyder
Diana M. Snyder, 77, a former resident of Ridley Township, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2016 at The Wayne Center in Wayne, Pa.
She will be remembered as a woman who was devoted to her family.
Diana is the wife of the late Albert Snyder.
She is survived by her daughter, Virginia Hill; her son, Francis MacMullett; her four grandchildren; and her great-grandchild.
Her funeral service and burial at Forest Hills Cemetery will be private.

Margaret Mary Irey
Margaret Mary Irey, 65, of Prospect Park, Pa. passed away on June 5, 2016, at Riddle Memorial Hospital.
Margaret was born in Philadelphia, Pa. to the late William and Catherine Foster. Margaret enjoyed cooking and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Margaret also loved the Jersey Shore.
Margaret is predeceased by her loving husband of 44 years, Charles W. Irey.
SURVIVORS: Margaret is survived by her children, Michael (Tara), James (Colleen), Joseph, Steven (Lauren), and Amanda; her grandchildren, Michael, Mackenzie, Andrew, Charlie Ana, Macie, Jameson, and Evan; her siblings, Robert, Florence, Cathleen, Patricia, John, Thomas, Joseph, Gail, and Marian. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
