Robert Donald Powell
Robert Donald Powell (Bob), 58, a resident of Boothwyn, Pa., passed away Sunday, August 16, 2015, surrounded by his family and friends.
Bob was born June 13, 1957 in Norwood, Pa. to Donald and Grace (Downs) Powell. Bob was married to Lynn (Cochran). He graduated from Interboro High School. Bob recently retired from a lifelong career as an iron worker. Bob was an avid four season outdoorsman and an animal lover. Bob enjoyed swimming, diving, motorcycles, weightlifting, hunting, fishing, and maintaining his vegetable garden.
Bob was the loving father of his two sons, Robert and Travis. He will be greatly missed by his sister, Donna Tomaino (Jim) and his brother, David (Susan), as well as his nieces, nephews, family members, and close friends.
A Service of Remembrance will be held on Friday, August 21st, at 11 A.M. at the Griffith Funeral Chapel, 520 Chester Pike, in Norwood, Pa. 19074.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. at the funeral home.
Bob’s burial will be private.

Barbara Mellace
MELLACE, BARBARA age 62, of Norwood, Pa. and formerly of South Philadelphia, passed away peacefully at her home on
August 14, 2015 surrounded by her family.
Barbara was the beloved mother of Robert C. Abrams and the late Jamie Alessandrine; the grateful, thankful loving daughter ofPalma (nee Leva) Mellace (My Poomzee) and the late John J. Mellace. She was MeeMom to Christian J. and Ariella N. Abrams, and Heather. She was the beloved Aunt of Carissa and Michael DiGiacomo. She was the loving sister of Joanne Mellace (My Sidda, My Laura Chip who never left my side) and loving cousin of Deborah Haines, so much more than a cousin, (My friend, my heartfelt soul mate), can’t imagine what I’d do without her, always there forever doing everything selflessly.So many other Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, true friends, you all know who you are and I love you. Also survived by my daughter from another mother, Machele Alessandrine Kortum, with those precious grandbabies, Lux and Cash.

Mildred J. "Jo" Shreve
Mildred J. “Jo” Shreve, age 100, a longtime resident of Morton, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2015 at The Wallingford Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Wallingford, Pa.
Born in Harrison County, West Virginia, Mrs. Shreve was a resident of Morton since 1951. She was employed by Gimbel’s Department Store in the cosmetics department for 28 years until her retirement.
Mrs. Shreve is the wife of the late Ray H. Shreve, who died in 1998.
Her funeral service and burial in Edgewood Memorial Park in Glen Mills, Pa. will be private.

Francis A. "Frank" Marr
Francis A. “Frank” Marr, 77, a longtime resident of the Essington section of Tinicum Township, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2015 at Crozer-Keystone Hospice Residence at Taylor Hospital surrounded by his family.
Born in Sea Isle City, N.J., he was the son of the late Alex and Evelyn Marr.
Frank was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years on various aircraft carriers. He retired out of the service with the rank of Chief Petty Officer.
Frank was the owner and operator of the Fox Grove Marina in Essington since 1969.
He was a Life Member of Smith-Fox V.F.W. in Essington and was also a member of Fleet Reserve Association, Branch # 1, in Philadelphia.
He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Essington, having been a member since 1969, and served as Deacon, Treasurer, and Sunday School Teacher, and was the contractor who built the current facility.
He loved to read, and loved to fix all sorts of things.
Frank was predeceased by his brothers, Donald Marr, Michael Marr, and Frederick Weber, and by his sister, Mary Kelso.
SURVIVORS: Frank is survived by his wife, Jo-Ann “Tubby” Marr, to whom he was married for 47 years and remarried 9 times; his children, John Graboski, USMC, Retired, Joann Darrah, Charles Harris, David Marr, USN, Retired, and James Marr; his brother, Edward Weber; his sister, Anita Winder; his ten grandchildren; and his three great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL SERVICE: Will be held on Thursday, September 24th, at 11 A.M., at the Griffith Funeral Chapel, 520 Chester Pike, in Norwood, Pa. 19074.
VISITATION: Will be on Thursday from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. at the funeral home.
BURIAL: Will be in Arlington Cemetery in Drexel Hill, Pa. with military honors.

Richard E. Neff
Richard E. Neff, 78, a longtime resident of West Chester, went to his heavenly home on September 19, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was the husband of Susan G. Neff, whom he shared 50 years of marriage. He is survived by his three children, Richard II, Gretchen, and Jenny; his three grandchildren; his sister, Marlene Rutt; and his two nieces.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 26th, at 11 A.M., at the West Chester Church of Christ, 1326 Park Avenue, in West Chester, Pa. 19380.
Friends may call to visit with Richard’s family on Saturday from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. at the church.
His interment was private.

Shaun Vincent Tomlinson
Shaun Vincent Tomlinson, 32, of Prospect Park, Pa., entered eternal rest on Saturday, September 12, 2015.
Shaun was born February 25, 1983, in Media, Pa. He is a graduate of Interboro High School. He attended DeVry University, for computer science education. He was an excellent chef, enjoyed preparing culinary delights for family gatherings. He was a computer whiz, and was his family and friends “go-to” when you were having a technical emergency. Shaun will be most remembered for his sense of humor. He was the life of the party, and would make the whole room laugh with his stories. He had a kind heart, and loved helping his family. He enjoyed playing, and spending time with his nieces and nephews.
Those left to cherish his memory are his father, Vincent Tomlinson; his mother, Phyllis Jester; his stepmother, Sally Fullmer; and his stepfather, David Jester. He is survived by his brothers, Michael Tomlinson, and David Jester, Jr.; and his sisters, Joyce (Tomlinson) Delaney, Debra (Tomlinson) Rose, Carol (Tomlinson) Wallace, Lindsey (Tomlinson) Froilan, and Jacqueline (Jester) Leach. He is also survived by his grandmother, Marie Nagle. Shaun will be missed by his Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, and Nephews. We will always carry your memory in our hearts. May you bring as much joy in heaven as you did here on earth.
Shaun was welcomed to heaven by his paternal Grandparents, Vincent Sr., Theresa, and Gertrude Tomlinson; and his maternal Grandfather, Gene Nagle.
A Celebration of His Life will take place on Friday, September 18th, from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the Griffith Funeral Chapel, 520 Chester Pike, in Norwood, Pa. 19074.
His burial will be private.

W. Robert Law
W. Robert Law, 86, a resident of Folcroft, Pa., passed away on September 12, 2015 at Bryn Mawr Hospital.
Mr. Law was a longtime resident of Delaware County. He graduated from Haverford Township High School and attended Drexel Institute where he received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. He took post-graduate studies in Business Administration at the University of Maryland.
Mr. Law served in the U.S. Army in the Signal Corps.
He was employed as Chief Engineer of Control Switch Division for several years. He left to work in research for a year and then worked as a Sales Representative for two years. He formed the Y-L Products Company in Folcroft in 1967 and was its President for many years.
His funeral services and burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, Mr. Law prefers that memorial donations be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Harry E. Anderson
Harry E. Anderson, 57, of Folcroft, Pa., passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2015.
Born in Philadelphia, he attended Good Shepherd School and Darby-Colwyn High School. Harry was a self-employed contractor with an Electrician’s Degree and Certification from Luzerne County Community College.
Harry enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family. He was a devoted son to Dale and Marilyn Rushlow and devoted father to William Anderson.
Harry is preceded in death by two brothers, John Anderson and Rob Anderson, and his niece, Victoria Anderson.
SURVIVORS: Harry is survived by his parents, Marilyn and Dale Rushlow; his son, William Anderson; his two sisters, Lynne Balmer and Diane Dalhoe; his two brothers, James Anderson and Michael Anderson; his two grandchildren; his eleven nieces and nephews; and his many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Nan Bailey
Nan Bailey, 80, a resident of Folcroft, Pa., passed away peacefully on September 2, 2015 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Sandy Lake, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Robert and Myrtle Pendleton of Rimersburg, Pa. She was employed as a cook for a number of years at the Del. Co. Daycare in Holmes, Pa. until her retirement. Nan was a collector of all items, especially dolls and hummingbirds. She was also an avid Phillies fan.
She will be remembered as a woman who was devoted to her family.
Nan is the wife of the late Jerry N. Bailey, who passed away in 1996. She is also predeceased by her brothers, Frazier Likens and George McClure; and her sisters, Violet Gehres and Lillian Kennison.
Nan is survived by her children, Kim Blair, Pam Hall, Cathy Bailey, and Jeffrey Bailey; her five grandchildren, Heath, Ryan, Dylan, Alyssa, and Emerson; and her great-grandson, Conner; and her sisters, Loretta Guianta and Dorothy Schock.
Nan’s funeral service and her burial will be private as was her personal request.

Fred Charles Bort, Jr.
Fred Charles Bort, Jr., 84, a longtime resident of Norwood, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2015 at the Prospect Park Health and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on June 27, 1931 in Shambungu, Belgium Congo, Africa, while his parents were serving our Lord as missionaries. Fred graduated from Glen-Nor High School, Class of 1950. He served proudly in the U.S. Marine Corp. during the Korean War.
Fred was retired from Bell Telephone. He was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Glenolden and was a past member of the Norwood Fire Co. No. 1, Fire Police and Ambulance Corps. He played in the “Over Forty” Softball League (Eddies Aston Mills Tavern) and played softball up to the age of 70. He participated in the Delaware County Senior Olympia Games as well.
Fred enjoyed deer hunting for over 45 years.
He will be most remembered as a man who was devoted to his family.
Fred was predeceased by a son, David.
SURVIVORS: His beloved wife of 64 years, Dolores; his children, Fred Charles III, Shirley Quinn; Diane Skalish; and Danny; and his nine grandchildren and his fourteen great-grandchildren.

Mary T. Jackson
Mary T. Jackson passed way on August 28, 2015 at the age of 95.
Born in Prospect Park, she was the daughter of the late William G. and Eliza Virginia (Boyer) Tranor.
Mary will be remembered as a dynamic, outgoing, independent woman. During World War II, she was employed by Westinghouse as a “Rosie the Riveter” drill press operator. She was an accomplished seamstress. At Christmas time, she crafted hand-made outfits for Teddy Bears given to children as gifts by the Salvation Army. Mary also loved to cook. She enjoyed hosting holiday dinner parties and seasonal picnics for family and friends. Mary was a dedicated member of Immanuel Lutheran Church for more than 65 years. She was also active in Girl Scouts and a long term volunteer at Crozer Hospital’s Serendipity Shoppe. Mary enjoyed the great outdoors. While traveling throughout the United States, she visited most of our National Parks.
After the death of her husband, James Sampson in 1969, Mary returned to Westinghouse as a secretary until her retirement in 1982. During her tenure there, she met and married William Jackson.
Mary is survived by two daughters, Jimette (John) Toth and Jacalyn (John) Brunken. She was predeceased by her son, Dr. William L. Pancoe (Marcie). Mary was blessed with nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Mary’s family would like to thank the compassionate nursing staff at Fair Acres who provided her with outstanding care.
