Pennsylvania Obituary and Marriage Records, 1947-2010

Anna Bridge

Anna Bridge (nee DeAntonio), age 88, a longtime resident of Prospect Park passed away peacefully on July 30, 2013. She is predeceased by her stepfather and mother, Alexander and Amelia Melchiorre, her siblings, Alexander DeAntonio, Kelly Dostillio, Mary Nelms, and Florence Saracina.

Anna was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved spending time with family, friends and her dog Missy. She also enjoyed baking, cooking, knitting and crocheting.

Survivors: Loving husband of 71 years: William Bridge, Sr., sons: William (Arlene) Bridge, Jr., Richard (Joanne) Bridge, her four Grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; her siblings: Gene DeAntonio, Susan McCauley, Kenneth Melchiorre and Lucy Saracina.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass on Monday, 10 A.M. at St. Gabriels Catholic Church, 233 Mohawk Ave, in Norwood.

Viewing: from 9 A.M. to 10 A.M. in church.

Burial: Saints Peter & Paul Cemetery

Doris Marie Mollica

Doris Marie Mollica (nee Blyler) passed away September 22, 2013 at Riddle Memorial Hospital, after a short illness. Born, November 16, 1921, in Altoona, Pa. Doris was the daughter of Ted and Jen Blyler.

She worked for a short time, at Delaware County Memorial Hospital, as a Nurse’s Aide. She then subsequently was a care giver, for ill adults, in their homes.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her two sons: Ronald and Barry, and her husband Anthony.

Survivors: Daughter: Toinette Williams, Grandson: Richard Mollica and his wife Vickie, Sisters: Claire Wolf, Lois Rosenfield and Molly Perez and her brother-in-law, Dave Rosenfield, Many nieces and nephews.

She resided, for the past seven years, at Fair Acres Geriatric Center.

Burial: Private

Margaret "Tootie" Barett

Margaret “Tootie” Barett, age 67, died on Friday, September 20 th, 2013 in Hospice care at Vitas Hospice at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital in Darby.

Margaret loved reading, yardsales, and her family. She was also an avid Collector of Campbell’s Kids paraphernalia.

She was the daughter of the late Harry and Isabelle Easterly.

Margaret is survived by her three children, Kathy Plennert, Robert Barett, and Adam Barett; her grandchildren John and Rebecca and her great-grandchild Bella. She was also survived by her sisters, Ruth, Betty, Peggy Kay and Jean Marie.

Her Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, September 25 th, at 11 A.M. at Lawn Croft Cemetery in Linwood. The family will meet at 10 A.M. on Wednesday at the Griffith Funeral Chapel, 520 Chester Pike, in Norwood before proceeding to the cemetery.

Walter J. Neff, Jr.

Walter J. Neff, Jr., age 66, a resident of Drexel Hill, passed away suddenly on November 3, 2014.

He was the son of the late Walter J. and Marie (Nee Bell) Neff. He was preceded in death by his son, Walter J. Neff III.

He was a graduate of Upper Darby High School and served for a period of time in the U.S. Army. Walter was a long time employee of Tactical Technologies, Inc. He was an avid Phillies and Flyers fan. He enjoyed gathering with family and friends and sharing a meal.

SURVIVORS: His sister Beverly (Richard) Griffith of Ridley Park and his brother Wayne T. ( Lorraine) Neff of Naples, Florida.

FUNERAL MASS: Will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 11 th, at 11 A.M. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 3422 Dennison Avenue, in Drexel Hill, Pa. 19026

VISITATION: Will be on Tuesday from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. at the church.

BURIAL: Will be in Saints Peter & Paul Cemetery in Springfield, Pa.

Patricia A. Glista

Patricia A. “Pat” Glista, (Nee Feese), age 64, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2014 at her residence in Morton surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Darby, Pa., she was the daughter of the late John C. Feese and Vera K. (Lindenmuth) Feese. She was retired from the former Bell Telephone Company where she worked as an operator for 30 years. Pat worked for a period of time as a food service employee with the Ridley School District.

She was a dedicated member for many years at Olivet Presbyterian Church in Prospect Park.

Pat’s life was centered around church, church youth, her family, and her grandkids.

SURVIVORS: She is survived by her devoted husband, Daniel Glista; her sons, David Glista and Jason Glista; her brothers, John R. Feese and Larry L. Feese; her two grandchildren; and her many nieces and nephews.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: Will be held on Friday, November 7 th, at 11 A.M. at Olivet Presbyterian Church, 1001 Washington Avenue, in Prospect Park, Pa. 19076.

VISITATION: Will be on Friday from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. at the church.

BURIAL: Will be private.

John A. Chichericco

John A. Chichericco, age 66, a resident of Collingdale, Pa., died on October 27, 2014 at the Vitas In-Patient Hospice Care Unit at Methodist Hospital in Philadelphia.

John was born on April 1, 1948 in Philadelphia. He was employed as a dry wall finisher for many years having last worked at Suburban Dry Wall.

SURVIVORS: His children, Barbara A. Gibson, Patricia M. D’Urso, and John A. Chichericco, Jr.; his brother, James Chichericco; his sister-in-law Kathy Chichericco and brother-in-law George Taylor; his seven grandchildren; his two nieces and two nephews; and his two great-nieces and two great-nephews.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Will be held on Saturday, November 1 st, at 10 A.M., at the Griffith Funeral Chapel, 520 Chester Pike in Norwood, Pa. 19074.

VISITATION: Will be on Saturday from 9 A.M. to 10 A.M. at the funeral home.

BURIAL: Will be in Media Cemetery in Media, Pa.

CONTRIBUTIONS: In lieu of flowers, contributions made in John’s memory to Vitas In-Patient Hospice Care Unit at Methodist Hospital, 1300 Wolf Street, Phila., Pa. 19148 or to the American Cancer Society, 1626 Locust Street, Phila., Pa. 19103 would be appreciated.

Erich Schramm

Erich Schramm, age 83, a resident of Folsom, Pa., died early Tuesday, October 21, 2014.

He was a kind loving man who grew up in Germany and came to the United States when he was 20 years old. He lived most of his life in Folsom, Pa. He was retired from Folsom Tool where he worked as a Tool and Die Maker.

SURVIVORS: He leaves his wife of 59 ˝ years, Else Schramm; his son Richard; his daughter Heide; his grandchildren Barbara and Barrette; his six great-grandchildren; and his two sisters.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Will be held on Saturday, October 25 th, at 12:30 P.M. at the Griffith Funeral Chapel, 520 Chester Pike, in Norwood, Pa. 19074.

VISITATION: Will be on Saturday from 11:30 P.M. to 12:30 P.M. at the funeral home.

BURIAL: Will be private.

Mildred A. DeMarcantonio

Mildred A. (nee Eschenbach) DeMarcantonio, age 86, of Essington, died on October 11, 2014 at Taylor Hospital. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and G.G.

Born in Ridley Park, she was the daughter of the late Vincent R. and Nettie (nee Hickman) Eschenbach. She was a lifelong resident of Essington and a lifetime member of St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church.

She was a proud graduate of Ridley Park High School, Class of 1946.

Mrs. DeMarcantonio loved to help others. She was a Girl Scout leader, a Tinicum Township crossing guard, and a bus aide for special education students in Interboro. She received the Citizen of the Year Award for 2010-11 from the VFW Post 4845.

She was predeceased by her husband, John DeMarcantonio; her daughters, Janice R. Moore and Sandra A. Cebek; her brother, Vincent R. Eschenbach, Jr., and her sister, Florence Thompson.

She is survived by her children, John R. DeMarcantonio (Sandy), Gail M. Rzepka (Tom), and Neal V. DeMarcantonio (BJ). She is also survived by her sister, Marion Lenz, 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held Friday, October 17, 2014 at 12 noon at St. John the Evangelist Church, 16 W. 3rd St, Essington, PA.

Visitation will be Friday from 9 to 12 noon at the church.

Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. John the Evangelist Church would be appreciated.

Jane A. Tighe

Jane A. Tighe, 81, of Prospect Park, PA, passed away on October 8, 2014 at the Taylor Hospice House in Ridley Park, PA. Born in Moosic, Pa, she was the daughter of the late William and Margaret Copp. After graduating from nursing school she worked as a private nurse and then at Doctor’s Hospital in Philadelphia when she met and married her husband John Tighe and moved to Prospect Park, Pa.

She enjoyed working as a nurse with children with special needs at Greenwich Home for Children and being an active part of her children’s lives ranging from scouting to the many swim meets she attended and worked at. She loved going to the cottage to swim and fish and traveling around the world.

Survivors : Her husband John, daughter Barbara (Richard), son Thomas (Donna), grandchildren, Kiersten, Logan, Gage and Adam. Brothers Robert (Margaret), and Donald (Patricia), and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service: Wednesday, October 15, 2014 11am at the Griffith Funeral Chapel, 530 Chester Pike, Norwood, PA

Viewing : Tuesday evening 7-9pm, and Wednesday morning after 10am at the Griffith Funeral Chapel.

Burial : Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill.

Contributions : In lieu of flowers, contributions made in Jane’s memory to The Taylor Hospice House, P.O. Box 227, Ridley Park, PA. 19078 would be appreciated.

William "Billy" Myers

William “Billy” Myers passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Elwyn. Billy was born on June 9, 1951 in Bryn Mawr, PA and was the son of the late Eugene and Josephine Myers and the brother of the late Eugene Myers Jr.

Billy’s survived by his sister Miriam “MiMi” Baretta, William Baretta (brother in law), nephews, nieces, cousins, sister in law and numerous relatives.

Funeral Services will be held at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church located at 128 Chester Pike in Norwood, PA on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 10:00 am, followed by a graveside service at Saint’s Peter and Paul cemetery in Broomall.

Billy was a resident of Elwyn since August 8, 1989. He lived at Smith Hall and attended the Beatty Hall day program. Billy would always smile when his name was called. He was a gentle man with a great spirit and loved interacting with his peers and his many devoted staff. He greatly treasured his visits with his late brother, Eugene, sister and relatives; they would often share a cold beer, kielbasa and enjoy all “sweets”. He leaves behind many relatives and friends at Elwyn.

John S. Anders HM1USN Ret

John S Anders 89, of Norwood PA, passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2014.

Born February 10, 1925, in Warren Co.NJ. He was a proud resident of Norwood for over 50 years. John was the husband of the late Evelyn Morrow Anders, and father of the late Barry. He treasured his family:daughter Donna Rothe (Richard), son Bruce (Mary Jane), his five grandchildren: Jessica, Nicole, Warren, Christine, Allen; and his pride and joy six great grandchildren, Nathan, Evan, Rowan, Evelyn, Kaiser and Leland.

He served in WWII 1943—1946 United States Naval Malaria Control Team 107- South Pacific. In 1946, he served at Paris Island Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD). Then on 25th of June 1950, start of the Korean War, he was transferred to the USS Consolation (AH-15) with orders to leave for Korea. After his tour of duty was completed in Korea in June 1951, he was stationed at the Admiral Staff (com four) Philadelphia, PA until December 2, 1963, retiring as a 1st Class Petty Officer.

He served proudly for the United States Postal Service as a National Letter Carrier and was a member of the Keystone Branch No. 157 National Association of Letter Carriers Union, retiring in 1986. In total, he served our nation’s government for over 40 years.

Many may know him by his red van that delivered thousands of pounds of valuable recycled paper used by all the local school districts. He was a proud democrat, and an even prouder Veteran. He dedicated his retirement to the craft of sewing; making quilts that have been distributed to over 3000 veterans and their families, and giving over 3700 hours to veteran’s and volunteer programs. He continued making quilts until the time of his passing.

Throughout his life he supported not only the Veterans, but the Boy Scouts of America.The family asks, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The Boy Scouts of America/ John Anders Memorial 1485 Valley Forge Road Wayne PA 19087 or VAMC Philadelphia/John Anders Memorial 3900 Woodland Avenue Philadelphia, PA 19104.

Military Burial at Edgewood Memorial Park was held privately.

Katherine "Kitty" T. Brunner

Katherine “Kitty” T. Brunner, 88, of Norwood, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 26, 2014 at Fair Acres Geriatric Center in Lima, Pa.

Born in Philadelphia, she moved with her husband, Adam, to Norwood, Pa. She enjoyed working as a secretary in the insurance field for many years.

She is predeceased by her husband, Adam Brunner, and her parents John and Blanche Tighe.

SURVIVORS: Her brother John Tighe and his wife Jane, and several nieces and nephews.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Will be held on Wednesday, October 1st, at 11 A.M. at the Griffith Funeral Chapel, 520 Chester Pike, in Norwood, Pa. 19074

VISITATION: Will be on Wednesday from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. at the funeral home.

BURIAL: Will be in Arlington Cemetery in Drexel Hill.
