where she was very active with her husband, Charles who served as Treasurer. Margaret sang in the choir, served with the Helping Hands, Chaired the Worship Committee, was a delegate to the Methodist Council, Secretary of the Membership Committee and a Trustee on the Administrative Council. Margaret also ensured flowers were placed in the church and on the altar for nearly every church service until she moved to the Independent Living Community (ILC) at Masonic Homes, Elizabethtown, Lancaster County, PA n 1993. She formerly attended the West Grove Presbyterian Church while living in West Grove, PA. Other: Margaret was a loving homemaker for her husband and three children. Active in the Rockdale Senior Citizens. Served as past Worthy Matron of Brandywine Chapter 14, Order of the Eastern Star, Concordville, PA. She enjoyed the ILC, assisting in the mailroom and social functions, until November 2001 when a hip fracture forced her to Masonic Health Care Center. Charles and Margaret where very active in the 1st Armored Division Association. They attended most of the reunions, which Margaret attended up until two years ago.
SURVIVORS: Wife of the late Charles William Pierce, Jr. who died in 1989. They married in 1945 while Charles was on leave from the 1st Armored Division, Italian campaign, World War II; She is survived by Two Sons: David Richard Pierce of Stow, Ohio and Stephan Hope Pierce of Limerick, PA; Two Sisters: Helen Marian Swayne Giffing of Merrit Island, Florida and Edith Louise Swayne Harris of West Grove, PA; Also survived by Four Grandchildren; Daughter of the late Estella Virginia (nee Scott) and William Jacob Swayne; Sister of the late Carroll Hope Swayne, Florence Emmaline Swayne Milligan, Clara Dorothy (Dot) Swayne Walker, William Edward Swayne, Francis Scott Swayne, Robert Enoch Swayne and George Humphrey Swayne; Also the sister of the late Virginia Grier Swayne Albright who died on August 12, 2003 in Florida less than 24 hours before her death.
