EMPLOYMENT: Chester-Bridgeport Ferry where he collected the fares and later Patterson's Sunoco Gas Station, Chester, PA UNTIL HIS Retirement in 1969.
ORGANIZATIONS: Mr. Patterson especially loved making clocks and also enjoyed vegetable gardening and woodworking.
SURVIVORS: Survived by his wife of 66 years Anna Ruth (nee Moore) Patterson; Two Daughters: Ruthanne Impagliazzo of Aston, PA and Jean Schwartz of Newark, Delaware; Also survived by Five Grandchildren and Two Great-Grandchildren.

ORGANIZATIONS: Mrs. Paulson was devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed vacationing.
She was the wife of the late Paul A. Paulson.
SURVIVORS: She is survived by one son, David Charles Paulson of Boothwyn; two daughters, Denise Elizabeth Paulson of NJ and Amy Marie Paulson of Middletown Twp.; A Brother, John Thomas Shaffer of Elkton, MD, 2 Grandsons, Mark and Zachary and companion, Edward McCann of Philadelphia.

Katherine T. Paxson, 96
Wife, Mother, Poet, Activist
Katherine T. Paxson, 96 of Lima, Middletown passed away on April 4, 2009 at Lima Estates, her home for 18 years.
A Philadelphia native, Mrs. Paxson lived in Lansdowne for many years before moving to Lima. She was a graduate of The Westtown School in Westtown and briefly attended the University of Pennsylvania.
Wife of Charles S. Paxson, Jr., well known administer of Hahnemann Medical College and Hospital, who died in 1999, Mrs. Paxson was active on various hospital auxiliary committees, fund raising efforts and volunteer patient support services both at Delaware County Memorial Hospital and later at Hahnemann. She served as a staff member on several hospital teaching projects organized by her husband, Charles, to Peru, Columbia and Saudi Arabia in the 1950's.
Mrs. Paxson was a member of both the Twelfth Street Friends Meeting and Lansdowne Friends Meeting and attended Middletown Friends Meeting in recent years. Mrs. Paxson was involved in numerous Quaker activities for most of her life including the American Friends Service Committee, Pendill Hill, the FUM Ministry to Kenya and many others. Widely travelled, Mrs. Paxson, along with her husband, Charles, visited many Quaker ministries abroad including Sri Lanka, Kenya, Japan, China and South America and provided financial support for those organizations for many years afterwards.
Mrs. Paxson was a writer with four published volumes of poetry to her credit. She was a member of the St. David Christian Writer's conference and served on its board. She was a founding member of the Delaware Valley Poetry Society and active in various workshops over the years for poets and writers. She mentored many beginning poetry students and gave generously of her time in writer's projects and study groups.

Among her other notable community activities, Mrs. Paxson was a member of the Twentieth Century Club, the Girl Scouts of America, the International House of the University of Pennsylvania, and hosted numerous foreign exchange students in her home over the years. She was a member of the Westtown Alumni Association and was involved with its fundraising activities most of her life.
An active and valued long time resident of the Lima Estates Retirement Community, Mrs. Paxson participated in numerous community organizations, poetry and writers group and counseling services. She always had time to support and assist residents with personal issues.
Mrs. Paxson is survived by her sons, Dr. Stephen G. Paxson, his companion Rhonda Hodge and his children Andrew, Olivia and Emily of Greensburg, PA and Charles Paxson, his companion Deborah Corson and his son Brian of Plymouth, MI. She touched the lives of many people in a variety of wonderful ways.
A memorial service will be held on April 25, 2009, 11:00 AM at Middletown Friends Meeting, 435 Middletown Road, Lima, PA.
Burial services will be private
