DIED: Saturday, October 17, 2009 Born and raised in Springfield, PA, he had been a resident of Media, Middletown Twp. since 1971.

EDUCATION: Graduate Springfield High School Class of 1956

EMPLOYMENT: Parris Auto Center, Holmes, PA where he was the owner/operator since 1975. Mr. Parris had worked in the auto business all of his life.

ORGANIZATIONS: Mr. Parris was a man devoted to his home and family. He enjoyed vacationing in the Florida Keys and was an enthusiastic sports fan enjoying the Eagles, Phillies and fishing.

SURVIVORS: Husband of 49 years to Stephanie A. Parris; Two Daughters: Pamela L. Reczek of Middletown Twp., PA and Jill E. (Brian) Shay of Aston, PA; Also survived by Three Grandchildren: Lauren Reczek of Middletown Twp., Michael and Megan Shay of Aston, PA.

SERVICE INFORMATION: Friends and family may call 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at The Minshall Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home, Middletown (Rte#352) & Knowlton Roads, Middletown Twp., Media, PA. Funeral Service and Interment are private.

DIED: Tuesday, October 30, 2007 AT Bryn Mawr Hospital Born: Blandinsville, IL HAD BEEN A RESIDENT OF Ridley Park, PA FOR 20 YEARS, BEFORE MOVING TO Rosemont, 15 years ago.

EDUCATION: Received her Registered Nurse Degree in 1944

EMPLOYMENT: Utilization Nurse for Blue Cross and Blue Shield until 1992 PRIOR EMPLOYMENT: Psychiatric Nurse in Chicago, IL during the 1940's and during the 50's and 60's she worked in various hospital.

Wife of the ate John Robert Partin.

SURVIVORS: Survived by A Son: Arthur M. (Linda) Partin; Two Grandchildren: Kailey Lynn and Daniel John-James Partin; Sister of Elwanda Bond Shugart.

SERVICE INFORMATION: Funeral Service and Interment private. Friends and Family are invited to Arthur's home, Friday, November 2, 2007, 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. to share memories.

Rita Patel " an Inspirator" AGE: 51

Of: West Chester, PA DIED: Friday, September 12, 2008 after a courageous battle with breast cancer.

EMPLOYMENT: Owner of Blair's Florist

Other: Rita was the recipient of the Celebrate Life Survivor Recognition award and the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation survivor of the year award. She was an active fund raiser for the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

SURVIVORS: Survived by her husband Randy, one son Zachary, one brother Nilesh, one sister Smita and her extended loving family.

Patrick, Charles W.

Charles W. Patrick, 78, artist, professor

Charles W. Patrick, 78, a retired Temple University professor, artist, and entrepreneur, died of complications from Parkinson's disease Saturday, October 17, 2009 at Kendal Crosslands, a retirement community in Kennett Square.

From 1996 until retiring in 2006, Dr. Patrick taught at Temple's Fox School of Business and Management. In the summer, he taught courses on Internet marketing in Germany, Italy, and Turkey and was a visiting professor, including at the American University in Dubai.

He also pursued his art, creating paintings that incorporated letters, numbers, and symbols. Some of his more whimsical work has been adapted to designs for women and children's clothing, room décor, and fashion accessories.

Before moving to Philadelphia, Dr. Patrick and his wife, Susan Swayze Patrick, had been longtime residents of Alexandria, Va. In the 1970s and 1980s they established galleries in the United States, Latin America, and Europe featuring locally produced art and crafts.

From 1990 to 1994, Dr. Patrick was president of the Association to Unite the Democracies in Washington. The organization sponsors conferences, publications, and scholarships relating to U.S. foreign policy and international economic activities.

A native of Indianapolis, Dr. Patrick earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Purdue University, where he was class president his senior year.

He earned a master's degree from Harvard Business School and a doctorate in political science from the University of Geneva in Switzerland. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.

In the 1960s, he was assistant to the president of Rutger's University and was director of public education and information at Carnegie Endowment for International Peace in New York.

Dr. Patrick published papers on international business and foreign policy and had been a consultant to the Swiss government and to a banking firm in Caracas, Venezuela.

In addition to his wife of 49 years, he is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth; and sister.

A Funeral Mass was said at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at St Patrick Roman Catholic Church, 212 Meredith St., Kennett Square. Burial in St Agnes Cemetery, West Chester, PA.

Memorial donations may be made to the National Parkinson's Foundation, 1501 N.W. Ninth Ave., Miami, Fla. 33136.
