Deanne L. (nee Davis) Hahey AGE: 75

DIED: Friday, May 29, 2009 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Media, PA, she had been a resident of Thornton for 38 years, before moving to Chadds Ford, 5 years ago.

EDUCATION; Graduate Strong Vincent High School

EMPLOYMENT: Wawa Corporation as a Bookkeeper until her retirement in 1996.

ORGANIZATIONS: Mrs. Hahey was devoted to her family, enjoyed her home and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Red Hats and the American Legion Auxiliary. She also was a volunteer at Riddle Memorial Hospital and supported the Spina Bifida and the Blind Association.

SURVIVORS: Survived by her husband of 55 years, Ronald Hahey; Two Sons: William Blair Hahey of Ashland, Oregon and Brian Davis Hahey of Chadds Ford, PA; One Daughter: Brenda G. Wolf of West Chester, PA; Two Sisters: Janet Hippo of Eddystone, PA and Pam Pedokus of Renova, PA; Also survived by her Grandson, Logan.

Wanda L. (nee Wirth) Hagis age 70 years of Eddystone, Pa & formerly of Baltimore, Md., died on Tuesday 9/19/06 at the Belvedere Nursing Home, Chester, PA.

Born in Baltimore, Md., she had been a resident of Eddystone, PA for over 30 years.She had formerly owned Nicki, s Deli in Eddystone.

She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church in Eddystone, PA.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years George A. Hagis; 3 sons: Nicholas Hagis of Eddystone, PA & Thomas Hagis of Philadelphia, PA; 1 daughter Debra Hagis of Eddystone, PA., also survived by 2 grandsons.

Memorial Mass on Wednesday 10:00 from the Church of St. Rose of Lima, Eddystone, Pa. Interment private.

BORN IN: Chester, PA to the late John M. and Margaret J. Hagerty. Had been a resident of Marcus Hook, PA for 17 years before moving to Prospect Park where she resided for 72 years.

EDUCATIION: Graduate Chester High School

Graduate West Chester University with a B.S. Degree

Graduate Temple University with a Masters Degree

EMPLOYED: Marcus Hook Elementary School as a Teacher for 43 years Retired in 1973

ORGANIZATIONS: Church: Member St. Paul Episcopal Church, Chester, PA

Other: Member of the Evening Section of the Century Club and the Senior Citizens of Prospect Park. She enjoyed doing needlepoint and reading.

Predeceased by a sister Doris R. Hagerty

SURVIVORS: Survived by a friend who cared for her Rose Friel of Norwood, PA; Also survived by many cousins.

Haebel, James C.

James Charles Haebel AGE: 78

OF: Media, PA And Formerly of Marcus Hook, PA

DIED: Wednesday, September 22, 2004 AT Home

Born: Chester, PA to the late William and Blanche Haebel of Marcus Hook, PA. HAD BEEN A RESIDENT OF New York City BEFORE MOVING TO Delaware County, PA, 37 YEARS AGO.

EDUCATION: Graduate Washington College, Chestertown, Maryland

While at Washington College he was an active member of the forensic society, which helped him develop his great love of politics and debate.

EMPLOYMENT: Federal Bureau of Investigation. Jim became a Special Agent in 1952 and remained an agent for 25 years. After retiring from the Bureau he became the Director of the Independent Monitoring Unit of Delaware County Manpower and also taught courses in criminal justice at Penn State University.

VETERAN: US Navy WAR World War II SERVED ON THE on the hospital ship USS Tranquility. After the war he continued his service in the Naval Reserve for 38 years, attaining the rank of Lieutenant.

SURVIVORS: Survived by his wife of 42 years Patricia E. Haebel; His Children Beth, Chris, Megan, Amy, Greta, Greg, Kim and Brenna all of Pennsylvania and Delaware; Two Sisters: Betty Benjamin of Media, PA and Ruth Leary; A Brother: Major General Robert E. Haebel, The United States Marine Corp of California; Also survived by Five Grandchildren; Brother of the late William Haebel.

SERVICE INFORMATION: Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 pm Friday at The Minshall-Shropshire Funeral Home, Middletown (Rte#352) & Knowlton Roads, Middletown Twp., Media, PA. Interment is private.

Prior Employment: Penn Delco School District AS Cafeteria Server Working at Sun Valley, Parkside and Coebourn Schools.

Also worked as a Drill Press Operator at Congoleum For 4 years

ORGANIZATIONS: CHURCH: Member Mt Hope United Methodist, Aston, PA where she was honored as the oldest member and also the oldest living member of the Kirkpatrick family. Member of the Joy Class at Mt Hope.

Other: A woman devoted to her home and family.

SURVIVORS: Wife of the late Lucian M. Haas, Sr; She is survived by Three Daughters: Lorraine M. Kilmer of Aston, PA, Lucille M. Austin of Indianapolis, Indiana and Jo-Ann Birzes of Aldan, PA; Also survived by Eleven Grandchildren, Sixteen Great-Grandchildren and Six Great-Great Grandchildren; Also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
