Ralph A. Gaeta AGE: 88 OF: Clifton Heights, PA DIED: Sunday, August 9, 2009 at the Delaware County Hospital Born on June 6, 1921 in Philadelphia, he was a resident of Clifton Heights for 51 years.
VETERAN: Ralph joined the United States Army in 1942 with the 84th Divison and served in World War II. He landed in France and fought at the Battle of Normandy, pushed through Europe, fought at the Battle of the Bulge, his unit was the first American Division to cross over the Rhine River and capture Germany. For his bravery during combat, he received numerous awards including - The European Theater Medal, The Silver Star Medal, The Bronze Star Medal, The Distinguished Unit Medal, The Performance Medal and the Purple Heart Medal.
EMPLOYMENT: Westinghouse Company, Lester, PA as a Pipe fitter for 30 years until his retirement.
A man devoted to his family. He enjoyed hunting and antique cars.
SURVIVORS: Survived by his wife of 63 years Amelia (nee Palumbo) Gaeta; Two Sons: Ralph (Virginia) Gaeta, Jr. of Middletown Twp, PA and John Gaeta of Clifton Heights, PA; One Daughter: Frances Gaeta Ollis of Edgmont, PA; Three Grandsons: Ralph Gaeta, III, Steven Gaeta and James William Ollis.

PRIOR EMPLOYMENT: Swift Canning Company, US Navy Yard, US Dept. of Agriculture and Thomas Robert Company as a Secretary.
ORGANIZATIONS: Church: Member Union Methodist Church, Havertown, PA. She served as a Sunday School teacher for beginners at Union Methodist and Ninth Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia where she was a former member.
Other: A woman devoted to her family. Mrs. Galloway enjoyed Bridge and was a very proficient player. She also enjoyed swimming and reading. She was the past President of Chi Sigma Sorority.
Wife of 38 years to the late Charles Boyd Galloway who died in 1975.
