Served as Parish Council Member, St. Joseph Church, Port Vue, PA, Former President McKeesport Chapter of Pennsylvania Credit League, Board Member of Aston Business and Professional Association, Member of the Chichester Rotary, Chairman of the Finance Committee for the United Way of Southeastern, PA, member Knights of Columbus Father James A Donnelly Council #11782, Aston and 4th Degree member Cardinal Dougherty Assembly and a member of the Finance Committee for Church of St. Joseph, Aston, PA. He enjoyed golf, horseshoes and being a semi-pro bowler in Southwestern, Pennsylvania. Received a liver transplant in 1996.
SURVIVORS: Survived by his wife of 46 years Helen Elaine (nee Koroneos) Flanyak; Two Sons: Robert J. Flanyak, Jr of Eatontown, New Jersey and Steven Flanyak of Kernersville, North Carolina; Two Daughters: Susan Petrak of Chadds Ford, PA and Teresa Flanyak Howell of Waynesburg, PA; Also survived by Seven Grandchildren. Predeceased by father John Flanyak and mother Mildred Kosic Flanyak and brother William Snips Flanyak.
