Donovan, Mary Anna

Mary Anna "Mae" Elliott Donovan age 89 years of Concord Twp., and formerly of Chester, PA died on Thursday 11/29/07 at home. Born in Philadelphia, PA Mrs. Donovan had been a longtime resident of Chester before moving to Concord Twp., five years ago.

A woman devoted to her home and family, Mrs. Donovan was a caregiver to her mentally challenge daughter Jacqueline Mary Donovan who died in 2002.A woman who invested her life in care of people, she enjoyed her friends and neighbors. She also enjoyed gardening and walking.

Mrs. Donovan had been a member of the former First Presbyterian Church of Chester. She had also been employed as a sales clerk part time at Cathy's Childrens store in Brookhaven, Pa. for ten years.

She was the wife of the late John Joseph Donovan who she had been married to for over 64 years until his death in 2002 and the mother of late Jacqueline Mary Donovan and grandmother of the late Michael Joseph Warburton, Heather Leigh Warburton and David Daniel Donovan, Jr.

She is survived by 3 daughters: Martha Warburton of Concord Twp., with whom she lived; Elizabeth Ann Mora of Great Falls, Montana, Mary Ann Mc Cormack of Exton, PA. 3 sons: John Donovan of Aston, PA, David Donovan of Boothwyn, PA and Fr. Michael Joseph Donovan O.D.E.M. working in Cleveland at the present time. Also survived by 14 grandchildren 8 greatgrandchildren.

Funeral services on Wednesday 12:00 noon from the Minshall Shropshire Bleyler Funeral Home Middletown (Rte#352) & Knowlton rds., Middletown Twp. where friends may call after 11:00AM. Interment Lawn Croft Cemetery. Memorial contribution to Divine Providence Village 686 Old Marple Rd., Springfield, Pa., 19064.

Doucette, Jeanne M.

Jeanne M. (Hanlon) Doucette, RN, BSN, MSN

AGE: 64 OF: Narberth, PA and formerly of Montgomeryville, PA

Died: Saturday, October 4, 2008 AT: Home

BORN IN: Philadelphia, PA She had been a resident of Montgomeryville, PA for 9 years before moving to Narberth, PA 9 years ago.

EDUCATION: Completed her RN at Misericordia Hospital, Philadelphia, PA
BS Degree from Eastern College
Masters in Health Administration from
St Joseph's University, Philadelphia, PA

EMPLOYMENT: Roxborough Memorial Hospital, Philadelphia, PA, as an Administrator until her retirement in 2003. Mrs. Doucette inspected hospitals in Pennsylvania for the Department of Health and also traveled throughout the United States inspecting hospitals.

Other: Jeanne was a woman devoted to her home and family. She enjoyed bingo, playing volleyball in a neighborhood league and was an avid Phillies fan.

SURVIVORS: Survived by her husband of 41 years, John "Jack" J. Doucette; Two Sons: John (Selvete) Doucette, III of Pottstown, PA and James (Heidi) Doucette of Narberth, PA; One Daughter: Jeanne Doucette of Crozet, Virginia; One Brother: The Rev. Msgr. Andrew J. Hanlon, Pastor of The Church of Our Lady of Charity, Brookhaven, PA; also survived by Two Grandsons and One Granddaughter.

SERVICE INFORMATION Funeral Mass 10:30 a.m. Thursday at The Church of St. Margaret, 208 N. Narberth Avenue, Narberth, PA, where friends and relatives may call after 9:00 a.m. Interment SS Peter & Paul Cemetery, Marple Twp., PA

Had been a resident of Chester, PA for 50 years, moving to Aston where he resided for 25 years.

EDUCATION: Attended St. Michaels Elementary School, Chester, PA

Attended St James High School, Chester, PA

EMPLOYMENT: Dougherty's Bar a family business where he was the Manager and he also worked as a Quality Control Inspector for 25 years at Sun Ship

ORGANIZATIONS: Mr. Dougherty loved to spend time with family and friends at Indian Acres in Cecilton, Maryland

Husband of the late Dolores M. (nee Pusey) Dougherty and son of the late Hugh and Mary (nee Garrett) Dougherty.

SURVIVORS: Survived by Three Sons: John Michael (Gloria) Carrero of Wilmington, Delaware, Robert Joseph (Diane) Carrero of Wilmington, Delaware and Bruce Eric (Kathleen) Dougherty of Milmont Park, PA; Two Daughters: Debra Ann (Walter) Washington of Eden, Maryland and Patricia Ann Michalkiewicz of Concord, PA; One Brother: Hugh R. Dougherty of Exton, PA; Two Sisters: Margaret DiEmidio of Lewes, Delaware and Roseann Geers of Sun City, Florida; Also survived by 20 Grandchildren and 14 Great-Grandchildren.

George T. Dougherty "Doc" AGE: 82

HAD BEEN A RESIDENT OF Glenolden, PA BEFORE MOVING TO Palm Beach Florida where he resided for over 20 years and returning to Brookhaven 8 years ago.

VETERAN: US Marines during World War II in the Philipines and China

EMPLOYMENT: Mr. Dougherty worked for National Airlines in Philadelphia and than for Pan American as Operations Manager for a total of 34 years until his retirement in 1981. After his retirement he worked for Palm Beach County Court System in Security for 12 years until he retired in 1998.

ORGANIZATIONS: A sportsman who enjoyed watching all sports, he especially loved the Eagles and was an avid Phillies fan. He was a member of the Marine Corp League, Upland, PA and the American Legion.

He was the son of the late George & Anna Quinn Dougherty; Brother of the late Mary H. Mandes and Joseph J. Dougherty.

SURVIVORS: Survived by A Niece and her husband who cared for him and with whom he lived Donna and Richard Turturici of Brookhaven, PA and A Nephew who cared for him Tony Mandes of Parkside, PA; Also survived by Three Great=Nephews: Richard and Mark Turturici and Anthony Mandes, Jr.

SERVICE INFORMATION: Funeral Mass Saturday 10:00 a.m. at The Church of St. Rose of Lima, 1901 Chester Pike, Eddystone, PA Friends may call Friday after 7:00 p.m. and Saturday 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at The Minshall-Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home, Middletown (Rte#352) & Knowlton Roads, Middletown Twp., Media, PA. Drennen, Bernice Elizabeth

Bernice Elizabeth Koppenhaver Drennen, 89, formerly of Chester, died August 15, 2009 at Jefferson Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Beaumont, Texas.

Born in Valley View, Pa., she was a 1938 graduate of Hegins High School in Schuylkill County. Following graduation, she worked at Swarthmore College, where she met her future husband of 60 years, Robert Bartlett Drennen.

The Drennens moved to Chester, where they raised two daughters. With her husband away in the Navy, Mrs. Drennen handled parenting duties while holding jobs at Ship 'n Shore clothing, Roger's Department Store and McCrory's five and dime, all in the Chester area.

Along with her husband, she was a longtime member of Providence Avenue Methodist Church and Christ United Methodist Church, both in Chester. After relocating to Texas following Mr. Drennen's death in 2000, she attended Wesley United Methodist Church in Beaumont.

Mrs. Drennen was the daughter of the late Edna Kimmel and Mark Koppenhaver. She was the mother of the late Sandra M. Montag and

Sister of the late Marie Koppenhaver and Mary Wynn.

Survivors: Daughter and son-in-law with whom she lived, Barbara A. and Stan Killian of Beaumont; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews.

Service: 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 19, 2009, Broussard's Mortuary, 1605 N. Major Drive, Beaumont.

Visitation: 9 A.M. Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at the mortuary.

Burial: Chester Rural Cemetery.

Dryden, Alice M.

Alice M. Dryden, a devoted and faithful servant of God AGE: 76 OF: Brookhaven, PA, went to be with her Lord on February 23, 2009. Born on June 3, 1932 in Media, PA, she was the daughter of the late Edlynn Young and Violet Miles Young.

EDUCATION: Mrs. Dryden was educated in the Trainer and Ridley Park Schools.

EMPLOYMENT: Prior to her retirement she worked for Concord Beverage and the former Reynolds Springs.
