Mollie (Stohr) Desmond 79 of Newtown Square, PA. Died on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at Riddle Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Born September 10, 1930 in Springfield, PA, one of two children to the late William and Mollie Stohr.
Graduate West Chester College Class of 1952
Then worked as a Teacher. She married Jack, the love of her life, and raised three daughters in Media, PA. Later in life she volunteered at The Red Cross, and most recently she "found her voice" in the Choir at White Horse Village.
She was generous and loving, devoted to her husband, daughters, and grandchildren. A baker, gardener, seamstress, traveler, photographer and Phillies fan, Mollie danced the Mummer's Strut and Alley Cat with abandon. She never met a holiday she didn't like, celebrating Groundhog Day and Christmas with eq ual enthusiasm.
Survived by her husband: John "Jack" W. Desmond; Three Daughters: Suzette (Tom) Desmond Davis of Shelby, NC, Ginger (Chris) Desmond-Martin of Wellesley, MA and Sandra (Ben) Desmond Stokes of San Francisco, DA; One Brother: William (Beverly) Stohr of Bedford, VA; Also survived by four granddaughters.
There will be a Fireside Gathering 4:00 p.m. Thursday at White Horse Village, 535 Gradyville Road, Newtown Square, Pa 19073. Interment private.
