VETERAN: U S Army as an Army Missile Specialist during the Vietnam War.
ORGANIZATIONS: Mr. Burns was an avid lover of all sports and a black lab named Cleopatra. Ron played both offense and defense for Penncrest football and West Chester University. He was a member of the all DELCO football team in 1967.
Son of the late John L. and Dorothy Hanna Burns, brother of the late John Burns, Jr and nephew and stepson of the late Helen Forrester.
SURVIVORS: Survived by his wife Margaret (nee Helander) Burns; He was the brother of Elaine Forrester of Media, PA, Richard Forrester of Daytona Beach, Florida, Susan (Henry) Federowicz of Mt Joy, PA, Kathy McKniff of Upland, PA and Eileen Seaman of Parkside, PA. Also survived by numerous other family and friends.

Elizabeth Warren Bynum, 87,
Longtime Aston Resident
Elizabeth Warren Bynum, 87, a longtime resident of Aston, died July 16 at home.
Born in Woodlyn, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Andrew L. and Mabel R. Warren, and the wife of the late Terrell W. Bynum. She lived in the Green Ridge section of Aston for 63 years.
Mrs. Bynum, who was known to her high school friends as Libby Warren, graduated from Chester High School in 1938. During her senior year, she won a county-wide poetry contest, sponsored by the Pennsylvania School Press Association, for the best published poems in a high school newspaper (Chester High's "Welcome"). She continued to write poetry for the rest of her life.
After graduation, Mrs. Bynum entered nurse's training at Chester Hospital, and in that same year she married Terrell W. Bynum. In 1944 the couple moved their family to Green Ridge in Aston Township, where Mrs. Bynum became very active in community organizations. She was a founder of the Green Ridge Cub Scout Pack in which she served as Den mother, committee secretary and coordinator of the "Aid to Navajos Project, " which gained national recognition and funding. She was an active participant in Aston PTA-sponsored plays and shows; and she was troop leader of the Aston Brownies of the Girl Scouts of America. In later years, she was secretary of the Rangers Drum and Bugle Corps of Ridley Township, as well as a charter member and officer of the Lydia Wade Chapter of the International Toastmistress Club. In this capacity, she traveled to Wolverhamption, England to give a speech. Mrs. Bynum was an avid doll collector who started her own toy-making business and doll "hospital". She was co-founder of a local doll-collector's club, and she had more than a thousand dolls and hundreds of teddy bears in her collection. At age 85, Mrs. Bynum founded her own Chapter of the Red Hat Society.
Mrs. Bynum always enjoyed learning, and after high school she took courses in a variety of subjects, including human relations, salesmanship, typing, humanities, sociology and psychology at schools that included Temple University, Chester High School Adult Education, Sleeper's Business College, Sun Valley High School Adult Education, and Widner College.
During her working years, Mrs. Bynum was employed at the Montgomery Ward Store in Chester, Merrimac Toys in Rockdale, Speare Brothers Department Store in Chester, and Spensers' Stationery Store in Chester. Beginning in 1964, she worked at Scott Paper Company in Chester until she retired in 1985.
Survivors: Five children including Elizabeth Sabatino of Media, PA; Terrell Ward Bynum of New Haven, CT; Clare Bowersox of West Chester, PA; Karen Wright of Red Lion, PA; and Deborah McKinney of Brookhaven, PA; a brother, Andrew L. Warren Jr. of New Berne, NC; a sister, Winifred Newill of Forestville, CA; eleven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
