James D. Vanyo, 74, of Washington Township, formerly of Penn Hills, died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2000. Beloved husband of Jayne Berg Vanyo. Father of Gregory of Mt. Pleasant, Kathryn Matulay of Mt. Pleasant, Kim Fiesta of York, Kristine Vanyo-Weinberg of Hollywood, Fla., and Karolynne Griffiths of Plantation, Fla. Stepfather of Laura Lawson of Pittsburgh and JoEllen Abrams of Philadelphia. Brother of Anne Klick of Tucson, Ariz., Florence Gluvna of West Mifflin, Andrew of Tucson, Ariz., Regis of Rillton and Bernadette Fox of Germany. Also survived by nine grandchildren. Friends will be received Tuesday and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the SOXMAN FUNERAL HOMES LTD./ROTH CHAPEL, 7450 Saltsburg Road, Penn Hills. WILLIAM J. WALKER
William J. Walker, 45, of Latrobe, died Monday, Feb. 28, 2000, in Latrobe Area Hospital. He was born Feb. 17, 1955, in Latrobe, a son of Nancy P. (Fowler) Walker of Youngstown, Pa., and the late William W. Walker. Bill was a 1973 graduate of Latrobe High School, received his bachelor of science degree from St. Francis College in 1977, and was currently employed by Latrobe Area Hospital. He was a member of the Bethany United Methodist Church in Latrobe and served as a home visitor for the church, was a member and current president of the Derry Lions Club, and was an avid Boston Celtic fan. In addition to his mother , he is survived by his wife, Paula (Sandacz) Walker; two stepsons, Christopher W. Peffer and his wife, Wanda, of China Grove, N.C., and Ronnie L. Peffer, currently a student at Slippery Rock State University; his brother, Michael T. Walker and his wife, Teresa, of Latrobe; two sisters , Susan Poponick and her husband, Joseph, and Kathleen Martz, both of Latrobe; his grandparents, Regis and Florence Kent of Ligonier; his mother -in-law, Gerry Sandacz of Latrobe; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Friends will be received at the HARTMAN-GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME INC., 1500 Ligonier St., Latrobe, from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Bethany United Methodist Church with his pastor, the Rev. August B. Twigg, officiating. FRANK R. YOMNICK
Frank R. Yomnick, of Laughlin, Nev., passed away Thursday, Feb. 10, 2000. He was born in Greensburg, Jan. 31, 1930, and was a longtime resident of Orange County, Irvine, Calif. He was a retired self-employed contractor, owner of Frank's Fine Finish. Most recently, he was employed at the Ramada Express Hotel Casino in Laughlin, Nev. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Gazella Weimer Yomnick; a daughter, Debra Lynn Walker and son-in-law, Roscoe Walker, of Allegan, Mich.; a grandson, Ryan C. Mortensen of Laughlin, Nev.; a brother, Edward Yomnick of Pahrump, Nev.; and five sisters , Emma Pryor of Fullerton, Calif., Dolores Sabers of Palm Springs, Calif., Elizabeth Brinker, Dorothy Carr, and Sally Plevelich, all of Greensburg. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Toni Yomnick.
RUTH E. HAMILTON BOTTONFIELD
Ruth E. Hamilton Bottonfield, 86, of Indiana, Pa., formerly of Ligonier, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2000, at the Village House, St. Andrew's Village, Indiana. A daughter of Silas Clark and Cora Mae Hamilton, she was born April 7, 1913, in Indiana, Pa. Mrs. Bottonfield was an avid golfer. She was a former member of the Ligonier Country Club, where she was the Lady's Champion for several years. Her husband, Joe, had been employed as golf pro at the Rolling Rock Club, where she had assisted him in the pro shop. Surviving are a niece, Peggy Cook Albright and husband, Charles, of Penn Run; nephews, John Cook and wife, Carol, of Indiana, Pa., and Vernon Cook and wife, Olga, of Hyattsville, Md.; and many other nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and -nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents mentioned above; her husband, Joseph X., whom she married June 22, 1939, and who died in 1997; three brothers , John, William and George Hamilton; and two sisters , Emma Hamilton and Gertrude Cook. Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the BOWSER-MINICH FUNERAL HOME, Indiana. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Richard Sanford officiating. Chelsea ``Chuckie" DeLotto, 80, of Spring Hill, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2000, in Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. There will be no public viewing or visitation. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Connellsville, with the Rev. John Butler as celebrant. Interment will be private. Helen Frances Dinkel, 75, of Fairmont Street, North Huntingdon, died Friday evening, Feb. 25, 2000, at her home. Born June 7, 1924, in Export, a daughter of the late Jacob and Julia Belczyk Pietrusza. She was a former employee of Action Hardware in Norwin Shopping Center. She was a member of the Ascension Catholic Church, Jeannette and the Hillview Senior Citizens Bowling League, Greensburg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers , Eugene, Art and Celestyn Pietrusza. She is survived by her husband, Salem F. Dinkel; two sons , Robert N. and his wife, Palma, of Irwin and Mark Allen Dinkel and his wife, Anna, of Swissvale; grandchildren; three brothers , William Pietrusza of Cleveland, Ohio, Rudy of Rossiter and Phillip of Jeannette; two sisters , Natale Hank of Jeannette and Irene Pietrusza of Youngwood; and numerous nieces and nephews. Allison Luraye Holt, infant daughter of Brian R. and Dana Moses Holt, of North Huntingdon, died Friday, Feb. 25, 2000, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. In addition to her parents, she is survived by paternal grandparents, Wayne L. and Judy Smith Holt of Irwin; maternal grandparents, Richard and Mary Coyne Moses of North Huntingdon; paternal great-grandmother, Doris Holt Stark of North Huntingdon; also aunts, uncles, and cousins. Cecelia L. Lipniskis, 79, of Hutchinson, died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2000, at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Pittsburgh. She was born Dec. 1, 1920, in Sutersville, a daughter of the late Vincent and Cecelia Rainer Swager. She was a member of the Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, West Newton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew W. Lipniskis, in 1981; two brothers , Vincent and Joseph Swager; and a sister, Dorothy Lubinski. She is survived by a son, Joseph Lipniskis and his wife, Emma Jean, of Hutchinson; two grandsons, Jeffrey Lipniskis and his wife, Antoinette, of Sarver and Kurt Lipniskis and his wife, Laurie, of North Huntingdon; three great-grandchildren, Andrew, Zachary, and Sarah Anne Lipniskis; a brother, John Swager of West Newton; and three sisters , Bertha Tananis of Pittsburgh, Mary Ledbetter of Belle Vernon, and Anne Bittner of New Albany, Ind. Nioma R. (Pinkerton) Mason-Sly, 51, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2000, as a result of an auto accident. Wife of Michael J. Sly; mother of Charles L. Mason III, Nioma Grace and Patrick E. Nicholson. Daughter of Ruth Baldinger Runco and the late Melvin L. Pinkerton Sr. Sister of Ramona C. Dunn, Melvin L. Pinkerton Jr., and Jesse Pinkerton. Grandmother of Chad, Heather, and Joshua Mason. Glenn Thomas ``Tom Cat" Weisner Jr., 61, of Latrobe, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2000, at his residence. He was born Oct. 15, 1938, in Latrobe, a son of the late Glenn Thomas Sr. and Pearl B. (Hunter) Weisner. Prior to retirement, he was co-owner and operator of G&S Builders and Remodelers, and had also been employed by the former Highland Cable Company. He was a member of the Bible Baptist Church, Kingston, and the First Reformed United Church of Christ, Greensburg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Weisner. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Susanna C. (Mewherter) Weisner; six children, Cynthia A. Withrow of Ligonier, Karen S. Shawley and husband, Homer, of Tampa, Fla., Timothy A. Weisner and wife, Jennifer, of Newport News, Va., John Brian Weisner Bradley of Pitcairn, Dolores Marie Weisner of Greensburg, and Kimberly Ann Hanscom of Trafford; 12 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a brother, Paul Weisner and wife, Myra, of Manassas, Va.; a half brother, Robert Weisner and wife, Nancy, of Greensburg; three sisters , Mrs. Michael (Rosemarie) Glesky, Catherine Weisner, and Mrs. Paul (Judy) Solo, all of Greensburg; three aunts, Erma Weisner, Katherine Murphy and Edna Clemens; and numerous nieces and nephews. Julia Coffer, 91, of West Newton, died Monday, Feb. 28, 2000, at Harmon House, Mt. Pleasant. She was born Feb. 16, 1909, in West Newton, a daughter of the late Simon and Mary Gamery Lux. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, West Newton, and a member of the Faith Lutheran Women's Society. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tony Coffer; a son, Norman Coffer; three sisters , Mary Wilson, Emma Simmons, and Anna Smith; and two brothers , James and Michael Lux. She is survived by three children, Julia Kopko and Dorothy Robinson, both of West Newton, and Robert ``Woog" Coffer of Lowber; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. RALPH J. DELMASTER
Ralph J. Delmaster, 69, died Monday, Feb. 28, 2000, at his residence in Port Vue. Born in McKeesport, July 23, 1930, the son of the late Ralph and Margaret Noll Delmaster. He was a retired electrical and mechanical engineer for Jacob Engineering of Green Tree, with more than 30 years of service. He also did consulting work with various companies in the Pittsburgh area until his retirement in 1995. He was a member of St. Mark's Parish, and a U.S. Army veteran of the
Korean War. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Stojakovich Delmaster; three sons , Steven Delmaster of Elizabeth, David Delmaster of Aliquippa and Richard Delmaster of Greensburg; a daughter, Cynthia Langford of Olney, Texas ; and 10 grandchildren. Virginia K. Taylor Duffey, 72, of Blairsville (Burrell Township), passed away Tuesday, Feb. 29, 2000, at St. Andrew's Village, Indiana, Pa. A daughter of Lloyd R. and Nora L. Howard Taylor, she was born Aug. 6, 1927, in Graceton, Pa. Mrs. Duffey lived the last 22 years in Blairsville. She was a member of Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church. She is survived by a son, Kenneth Duffey and his wife, Anna, of Blairsville; two daughters , Kathleen Freeman and her husband, Thomas, of Greensburg RD2, and Kimberly Blanton of New Alexandria; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Betty Sandolfini of Black Lick. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James P. Duffey, on Jan. 3, 1999; and a daughter, Nancy Collins, in 1987. The family will receive friends at the RICHARD L.
