John loved his family, sports, and spending time outdoors. Marion C. Benz, of Oceanport, died Wednesday, September 7 at home. She was a technical Librarian at Fort Monmouth, Eatontown for 25 years before retiring. She was a member of Red Bank Methodist Church; Order of the Eastern Star # 214; Olmstead Family Association; a member of Daughters of American Colonist and past member of the Long Branch Women's Club. Born in Long Branch, she lived in Eatontown before moving to Oceanport 35 years ago. She was predeceased by her husband, Hermenn Benz in 1955; a brother, Kenneth C. Kirby and a sister, Ruth E. Kirby. She is survived by a daughter and son in law, Carol and Allan White of Oceanport. All services were private. Damiano Funeral Home, Long Branch was in charge of arrangements.

Other: A devoted wife and mother who while raising her children was the Owner/Operator of Childhood Discovery a Day Care Center. She was a Delaware County Girl Scout Leader and was involved with Rose Tree School PTA. She also did volunteer work with literacy programs.

Black; A Son: Jeffrey (Lorrieann) Carey of Earleville, Maryland; Three Daughters: Dawn Black of Philadelphia, PA, Pamela Black of West Chester, PA and Kelly Black of Aston, PA; Also survived by her Grandchildren: Zachary, Kendall, Elizabeth and Svetlana.
