Baker, Sr, Frederick K.
Frederick K. Baker, Sr., 86 years of Vero Beach, Florida and formerly of Bryn Mawr and Media, PA. Died on Monday, September 10, 2007 at Indian River Medical Center, Vero Beach, Florida. Born in Chester, PA, he had been a resident of Media before moving to Bryn Mawr in 1969, residing there until 1987, when he moved to Vero Beach, Florida.
A graduate of Valley Forge Military Academy, Class of 1941 he attended Syracuse University where he graduated cum laude. He was a veteran of both WWII and the Korean War. During WWII he was in France and Germany with the 95th Infantry where he was a 2nd Lt. He received two Purple Hearts and the Distinguish Service Cross. After WWII he served stateside during Korea.
He was the former owner and president of the Baker Equipment Co., Marcus Hook, PA, until he retirement in 1986. His father founded the company.
After WWII he received his pilots license and was an avid pilot. He enjoyed golf and was a member of the following clubs: Philadelphia Country Club, Overbrook Country Club, Radley Run Country Club and John's Island Club.
He is survived by 3 sons: Frederick K. Baker, Jr., of Winter Springs, Florida, Thomas M. Baker of Edgemont, PA and Robert Baker of New Lexon, IL. Also survived by 6 grandchildren.
Funeral services followed by interment in Chester Rural cemetery with military honors will be private.

Baker, Sr., Elmer L. "Jim"
Elmer L. 'Jim' Baker, Sr., 76, of York, died at 1:44 p.m., Tuesday, September 25, 2001, at Memorial Hospital.
The service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 28th, at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 1551 Kenneth Road, York. Burial will be in Prospect Hill cemetery. The viewing will be 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. Baker was born February 14, 1925, in York, PA. He was the son of the late Howard L. and Bessie L. (Wentzel) Baker.
Mr. Baker was employed by the former Cole Steel in York for thirty-one years, retiring in 1979. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church and a United States Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Baker is survived by three sons, Dudley Baker, Joseph H. Baker and Elmer L. Baker, Jr., all of York; a daughter, Barbara Hershey of York; thirteen grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Baker of York. Mr. Baker was also preceded in death by a son, Barry Baker in 1996.
Officiating at the service will be the Rev. James Ward.
