Ardolino, Ralph John
Ralph John Ardolino passed away unexpectedly May 31, 2007 in Allentown, PA while visiting friends. He was born August 2, 1941 in Long Branch, NJ to Daniel and Josephine Ardolino. A member of the graduating class of 1963 of Muhlenberg College in Allentown, he received a BA in psychology. Ralph was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity and very active in student government.
Ralph returned to Muhlenberg in 1968 as Alumni Director and kept that position until 1973 when he once again entered the private business sector, first as Vice President of CanAm Securities and later as President of Ardolino Associates, doing historical restorations in the Lehigh Valley. Most prominent of those was the Dery Silk Mill conversion into apartments in Catasauqua, PA. He was also Vice-President of Sales of Mr. Nugget, Inc. a fish processing and sales company headed by his father-in-law, Alexander Brokans.
Upon moving to Palm Beach Gardens, FL Ralph became further involved with the food industry and founded RJA Foods, Inc. He became associated with Sea Coast Sea Foods, Inc. and increased their sales to the point that the company was sold for $ 58 million dollars to a major stock exchange company, He was currently part owner of Simply Simmered Foods, LLC a food manufacturer and distributor to major retail supermarket chains., under the brand names Simply Simmered and most recently Hibachi House. He was predeceased by his granddaughter Cathleen Mary Rudgers in 2006 and by his father Daniel Ardolino.
Ralph is survived by a loving wife of 42 years, Inese. He is also survived by a son Peter and his wife Barbara of Fair Haven, NJ and a daughter Kari Rudgers and her husband Kyle of Kensington, MD and three grandchildren, Benjamin Ardolino, Ethan Ardolino, and Josette Aria Rudgers. His mother, Josephine Ardolino of Long Branch, NJ. His sister Carolyn Perri and her husband Robert of Oceanport, NJ, goddaughter, Robin Gurniak and her husband David of Upper Montclair, NJ, goddaughter Karina Nance of Young, Australia, nephew Robert Perri of Lewes, DE and in-laws, Aria and Alexander Brokans of Denton, MD and sister in-law Anita Brokans of Baltimore, MD Also surviving are numerous cousins and wonderful, dear friends.
A voracious golf fan, Ralph was a charter member of PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens and his biggest thrill was attending the Masters with his son in 2005.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 3 from 2-5 pm at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave., (corner of Third Ave.), Long Branch. Funeral Monday, 10:30 am at the funeral home with a service at the Lutheran Church of Reformation in West Long Branch at 11:30 am officiated by the Rev. Al Acer and Rev. Leslie L. Hague. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel cemetery, West Long Branch. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ralph Ardolino and Cathleen Rudgers can be made to Neuron Sciences Research Group, Attn: Dr. Roger Packer, Children's National Medical Center, 111 Michigan Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20010-2970.
