Education: Delina Mae Barbacane attended St. Michael's Elementary School where she skipped the seventh grade passing to the 8th. She graduated in 1929 and then attended Chester High School. Lena was the first person in her family to attend high school paving the road for the other children. She graduated with both academic and art honors in 1933. Lena was eligible for a four year scholarship but had to turn it down for family reasons.
Employment: Lena's her first job was at Commission Row. She was so small she needed a box to stand on to reach the cash register. After high school Lena worked at Rupert's Jewelry Store. Her and her husband owned and operated the Texaco Station on 5th and Pusey Street as well as a dinette during WWII and then turned it into apartments just after the war. Lena also held bookkeeping and office manager position in the following: Columbus Center on Pusey Street, Paulson's Rug Co., Chester Morton Electronics Powder Coating Company, Community Nursing. She was the acting Controller of Irving Worsted Company on McDowell Avenue until it closed. Lena was President of Cherrystone Inc. owners of the property of the Firestone building and Wright's Bar at 9th Street and Avenue of the States, Chester, PA. She also owned and operated Wright's Bar until it closed. Lena will be remember for many talents especially being a seamstress, needle work and watercolor artist
Organizations: Charter Member of Columbus Center, PTA President's of St. Anthony's Catholic School, Altar Society and Sodality of St. Anthony's Catholic Church of Chester, Instrumental in getting the Boy Scout Charter for St. John Chrysostom Church. She ran for Committee Woman and worked for various Republican Party members.

EMPLOYMENT: County of Delaware in Parks and Recreation for 15 years until his retirement in 1992.
ORGANIZATIONS: Church: Active Member Christ United Methodist and Crozerville Methodist Church.
Other: A man devoted to his home and family. He served as a Judge of Elections 2nd District Middletown Twp., PA. Active member of Rose Tree Media Optimist Club. He was the Distinguished Governor of Optimist International of Delaware and Eastern PA District serving from 1978 to 1979. Enjoyed sports and was an avid bowler and golfer and was a member of The Hilltoppers.

She was the companion and dear friend of the late Joseph Bateman and the sister of the late Blanche Saylor, Dorothy Curtis, John, Oliver, William and Frank Creshine.
