Carl A. Eicher
Ligonier

Carl A. Eicher, 93, of Ligonier RD4, died Friday, July 7, 2000, at the home of his daughter, Peggy Telford. He was born Sept. 26, 1906, in Cook Township. He was the oldest member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. He was employed by Westland Dairy, Greensburg, was a lumberjack, and also employed by Shuster's Building Components, North Huntingdon, and was caretaker of Fairmount Cemetery for many years. Carl enjoyed gardening and was a great pinochle player and would play with anyone who would play cards with him. He was preceded in death by his mother , Laura Dillon Smith, and infant sister, Mary Jane, who were killed in the 1912 train crash on the Ligonier Valley Rail Road; his wife, Daisy Lenhart Eicher, on Oct. 31, 1995; two daughters , Dorothy Kennedy, in 1994, and Stella Lankey, in 1998; a grandson, Chris Musick, in 1981; a sister, June Smith Millison; and brother, Wayne Smith. He is survived by 10 children, William Lenhart and his wife, Shirley, of Latrobe RD4, Ralph Eicher and his wife, Shirley, of Catharpin, Va., Carl Eicher and his wife, Myrna, of Puerto Rico, Glenn Eicher and his wife, Carol, of Santa Cruz, Calif., Laura Eicher of Ligonier RD4, Edna and her husband, Russell Erickson, of Upper St. Clair, Jacob Eicher of Duncannon, Pa., Ray Eicher and his wife, Kim, of Greensburg, Audrey and her husband, Dennis Henrie, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Peggy and her husband, Joseph Telford, of Ligonier RD4; 33 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends at the SNYDER FUNERAL HOME INC. & CREMATORY, Bell and East Church streets, Ligonier, from noon to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Additional viewing will be from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, where services will be held at 11:30 a.m. with the Rev. Audrey J. Bell officiating. Interment will be in Fairmount Cemetery. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, RR4, Box 101, Ligonier, PA 15658. Helen M. Evans
Formerly of Greensburg

Helen M. Evans, 92, formerly of Greensburg RD3 (Salem Township), died Thursday, July 6, 2000, at her home. She was born May 22, 1908, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late John and Mary McGowan Young. She was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ in Delmont, the Delmont Women's Club, and the Alwine Civic Center. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton E. Evans, in 1991; a daughter, Shirley Ostroswski, in 1986; six brothers and sisters ; and an infant granddaughter in 1962. She is survived by her daughter, Mary E. Klingensmith of Penn Township, with whom she resided; four grandsons and a granddaughter, Edward Ostroswski and his wife, Lorie, of Ligonier, Dean Ostroswski and his wife, Lisa, of McKeesport, Clayton Klingensmith and his wife, Nancy, of Piney Flats, Tenn., Helen Steel and her husband, Mac, of Penn Township, and Glenn Klingensmith Jr. and his wife, Cammie, of Saltsburg RD2; and seven great-grandchildren. Mrs. Evans' family will receive friends at the JOHN L. BASH FUNERAL HOME, 152 Abbe Place, Delmont, (724) 468-8381, Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral home hours: Saturday 2:00 - 9:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held in the Trinity United Church of Christ, East Pittsburgh Street, Delmont, Sunday at 12:30 p.m., following the church's morning worship service, with Pastor Peter P. Bortz officiating. Interment will be private. Should friends desire, memorial remembrances may be made in Helen M. Evans' name to the Westmoreland Hospice, 532 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, PA 15601.
Mary Alice Graham
Latrobe

Mary Alice Graham, 78, of Latrobe, died Wednesday, July 5, 2000, at Ligonier Gardens, Ligonier. She was born Jan. 18, 1922, in Derry Township, a daughter of the late Garland and Mabel "Ruth" Barclay Friedline. Prior to retirement, she was a teacher with the Greater Latrobe School District for 35 years, and was a member of Latrobe United Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Alton E. "Bill" Friedline; a sister, Thelma M. Fannie; and a nephew. Mary Alice is survived by a sister, Doris M. Fannie of Derry RD1; three nephews; a niece; and several grandnieces and grandnephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday in the MICHAEL J. QUINLISK FUNERAL HOME INC., 548 N. Chestnut St., Derry, where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. Donald Graff officiating. Interment will follow in Blairsville Cemetery.

Frank Hitlan

Frank Hitlan, 70, of Connellsville, passed away Friday, July 7, 2000, at his home with his family. He was born April 5, 1930, in Melcroft, a son of the late Bert and Mary Vinosky Hitlan. Frank was a longtime resident of Connellsville. Prior to retirement, he was an employee of U.S. Steel Homestead Works for more than 33 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict, and was a member of the Connellsville American Legion. He was active in the Connellsville Little League, where he served as a coach for many years. He was also an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a member of St. Raymond of the Mountain Roman Catholic Church, Donegal. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Wanda Black Hitlan; two sons , David Hitlan and his wife, Faye, of Irwin and Richard Hitlan of Woodbridge, Va.; a daughter, Susan Sandusky and her husband, Fred, of Connellsville; two grandchildren, Jason and Danielle Sandusky; two brothers , William Hitlan and his wife, Pat, of Acme and Bert Hitlan and his wife, Betty, of Indian Head; and four sisters , Ann Stroka of Greensburg, Helen Majot of Indian Head, Kathryn Humbert of Acme and Margaret Legas of Indian Head. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Michael James Hitlan; a daughter, Mary Beth Hitlan; a sister, Mary Demsey; and two brothers , John and Joseph Hitlan. Friends will be received in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 111 E. Green St., Connellsville, Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m., Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., the hour of a funeral service in the funeral home with the Rev. Frank Lesniowski and Pastor David Bashor co-officiating. A committal service and interment will follow in the Normalville Cemetery.

Elwood H. Jones
Pittsburgh

Elwood H. Jones, 79, of Pittsburgh, died July 5, 2000, in Allegheny General Hospital. Born April 16, 1921 in Chicago, Ill., he was the son of the late Harry Jones and Maverta Gasmire Jones. Survivors include his wife, Verna Anderson Jones; one daughter, Christine J. Waltz and husband, Frank, of McCandless; one son, Kenneth E. Jones and wife, Kimberly, of Chapel Hill, N.C.; one brother, Manford G. Jones; and two grandchildren. Friends will be received for a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday in Northmont Presbyterian Church, 8169 Perry Hwy., McCandless. Memorial contributions may be made to: Salvation Army, 424 3rd. Howard N. Keibler Jr.

Howard N. Keibler Jr., 62, of Kennesaw, Ga., formerly of the Greensburg area, died Wednesday, July 5, 2000, at the Kennstone Hospital in Kennesaw, Ga. He was born May 5, 1938, in Greensburg, a son of the late Howard N. and Kathleen M. (McClain) Keibler. He was a 1956 graduate of Greensburg High School and received his degree from the University of Pittsburgh. He was formerly employed at Westinghouse, Blairsville, and the Elliott Co. of Jeannette. He is survived by his daughter, Dr. Kimberly D. Keibler-Gatien and her husband, Daniel, of Acworth, Ga.; two grandchildren, Rachael and Tyler; a sister, N. Kathleen Lenz and her husband, Albert C., of Ligonier; an uncle; and several cousins. He was predeceased, in addition to his parents, by a grandson, Brandon Daniel Gatien; and a brother, William D. Keibler, D.C. Friends will be received at the BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 516 Stanton at Green streets, Greensburg, Monday from 11 a.m. until noon, the time of service in the funeral home. Private interment will follow in the Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.

James C. King Jr.

James C. King Jr., 72, of Latrobe RD1, died Thursday, July 6, 2000, in Latrobe Area Hospital. He was born Feb. 13, 1928, in Unity Township, a son of the late James C. King Sr. and Lena Hogan King. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother, Thomas King; and a sister, Ruth Grover. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Ruth A. Griffith King; a son, Richard A. and wife, Vickie King, of Latrobe RD1; three grandchildren, Michael, Lisa and Daniel King; a sister, Mrs. Walter (Betty) Poole of Latrobe RD6; and a brother, George "Bud" and wife, Marie King, of Ligonier. Prior to retirement in 1988, he worked for the Fisher Body Plant of General Motors in Pittsburgh for 38 years. He was a member of the Bell Memorial Church, Whitney, and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Jim was devoted to serving his Lord, and served his church in many capacities. The love he shared with his wife and family was surpassed only by the love he had for God. Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the J. PAUL McCRACKEN FUNERAL CHAPEL INC., 144 E. Main St., Ligonier, where services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. John George officiating. Interment Lebanon Cemetery, Ligonier. Gifts may be made in his memory to the Bell Memorial Church, Whitney. Full military honors will be accorded at the graveside.

Amy Sue Brownfield Moskios
Baltimore, Md.
Formerly of Ligonier

Amy Sue Brownfield Moskios, 36, of Baltimore, Md., died Friday, June 23, 2000, in Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, Wash. She was born Aug. 14, 1963, in Ligonier, a daughter of Basil and Mary Brownfield of Ligonier. She had a sales and marketing career in eye care in Baltimore, was a loving and caring mother , and will be sadly missed by her family. She is survived by her daughter, Courtney; her mother and Father ; her sister, Laurie L. Butler and her husband, Chris, and son, Joby, of Seattle, Wash.; her brother, Christopher T. and his wife, Selina, and son, Tyler, of Seattle; her great-grandmothers, Margaret F. Brownfield of Ligonier and Margaret Glessner of Latrobe; and fiance, Dr. Robert Korman of Baltimore. A small memorial service was held for the immediate family and friends on Sunday, June 25, in Spanaway, Wash. A memorial service is being planned for family and friends in Ligonier, and the date will be announced at a later time.

Marjorie B. Morrison

Marjorie B. Morrison, of Upper St. Clair, formerly of Mt. Lebanon, died Tuesday, July 4, 2000. Beloved wife of Jacob B. Morrison. mother of Michal M. Kusick. mother -in-law of Harry F. Kusick Jr. Sister of the late Captain Bud K. Beaver, USN. There will be no visitation or viewing. A memorial service will be held at Friendship Village of the South Hills, 1290 Boyce Road, Upper St. Clair, Monday, July 10, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to South Hills Interfaith Ministries, 1900 Sleepy Hollow Road, Library, PA 15129. Mae Caroline Onder
North Huntington

Mae Caroline Onder, 75, of North Huntingdon, died Friday, July 7, 2000, in Monsour Medical Center, Jeannette. She was born July 23, 1924, in Braddock, a daughter of the late Tom and Hazel Humberson Murrey. Prior to retirement, she was employed as a waitress by the Holiday House. She was a member of the Christ United Presbyterian Church, North Huntingdon, and the VFW Post 781 Ladies Auxiliary. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Nora McDonough. She is survived by her husband, Andrew B. Onder; a son, Bruce A. Onder; and a sister, Virginia McConnell. There will be no public visitation. A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 15, 2000, at 11 a.m. in the SHIRLEY-KUKICH FUNERAL HOME INC., Clay Pike, Circleville, North Huntingdon, with the Rev. Dr. Robert J. Anderson officiating.

Douglas Ward Page
Greensburg

Douglas Ward Page, 43, of Greensburg, passed away Thursday, July 6, 2000, in UPMC Montefiore, Pittsburgh, after a valiant 13-month battle. He was born July 24, 1956, in Pittsburgh, a son of Elinor Jean Smith Page and the late Merle K. DeVos. He was raised by his stepfather, the late John R. Page. Surviving are his wife, Stephanie Polink Page; two sons , Chad Page and his wife, Joanna, of Corsica, Pa., and Shawn Page of Clarion; two grandchildren, Skybree and Chad; a sister, Dawn Baldinger and her husband, Jeff, of White hall; two brothers , Dan Page and his wife, Cathy, of West Newton and Darrill Page and his wife, Erin, of Norristown; and two nieces, Rachel and Amber Baldinger. Doug was an estimator for State Farm Insurance in the Bethel Park area and also worked for Becker and Company of Carnegie. A 1974 graduate of Norwin High School, Doug also received an associate degree from Vale Tech in Blairsville. He was on the board of directors of the National Kidney Foundation of Western Pennsylvania , and was a gifted speaker; he also volunteered and spoke for the CORE and TRIO organizations. Doug was a member of Ardara United Presbyterian Church. A memorial service will be held at the church at 3380 Nehrig Hill Road, Route 993 (halfway between Irwin and Trafford) Sunday at 4 p.m. with the Rev. Carlisle V. Lloyd officiating. Interment will be private in St. Joseph Cemetery, Fairchance. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Douglas Page Primary Nurse Care Program, Beckwith Institute, c/o Shadyside Hospital Foundation, 532 S. Aiken Ave., Suite 302, Pittsburgh, PA 15232. Arrangements are under the direction of the GOLDSBORO-TOMI FUNERAL HOME, 21 E. Church St., Fairchance, PA 15436..
