Jerry L. Zimmerman, 64 of Butler, died at 2:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 31, 2003 in U.P.M.C. Presbyterian Hospital, Oakland.
Born January 23, 1939 in Butler, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Daniel W. Zimmerman and Gertrude E. (Dolly) Piper.
Mr. Zimmerman was employed by the Castle Rubber Company in East Butler as a Banbury mixer and he retired on February 28, 2001. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army.
Surviving are his wife, Wilma Jean Meier Zimmerman whom he married
June 23, 1973, four daughters, Mrs. John (Tracy) Fields of Rimersburg, PA, Mrs. Ronald (Pamela) Marburger of East Brady, PA, Mrs. Michael (Amy) Sheaffer of Butler, PA, and Mrs. Michael (Leigh Ann) Marzullo of Butler, PA, twelve grandchildren and one great grandson, a sister, Mrs. Morgan (Mildred) Geibel of East Butler, PA and a number of nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his two sons and two brothers.
Friends will be received at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, PA, Friday January 2, 2004 from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m.
A Blessing Service will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., Saturday January 3, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Jack Nanz pastor of St. Peter's Catholic Church of Butler officiating. Interment will be private.
Thomas Charles Robson
October 17, 1928 - December 22, 2003
Thomas Charles (Chuck) Robson, 75 of Hooker Road, Karns City, died Monday, December 22, 2003 at 9:18 a.m. at his residence.
Born October 17, 1928 in Grove City, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Thomas William Robson, Jr. and Florence Whitesell.
He worked as a Rolling Mill Operator for Magnetics, Inc., East Butler retiring in 1992 after 37 1/2 years of service. He was a member of National Rifle Association and A.A.R.P. He enjoyed hunting, camping and boating. Mr. Robson was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War serving his country in Germany.
Mr. Robson is survived by his wife, Hazel Buchanan Robson, one son, Thomas Charles Robson, Jr. of Connoquenessing, Pennsylvania, one daughter, Debora Lynn Robson of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, two grand-daughters, Amanda Lou Robson, and Angelia Marie Robson, and also two nephews.
Mr. Robson is preceded in death by his brother.
Friends will be received at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania, on Friday, December 26, 2003 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., Saturday, December 27, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Robert Mathias officiating. Interment will follow in Concord cemetery.

William Robert "Bill" Riding
November 14, 1928 - November 18, 2003
William Robert "Bill" Riding, 75 of Butler, died at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 18, 2003 at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born November 14, 1928 in Butler, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Edward Riding and Eva Christine Foster.
He retired in 1993 as a Fleet Mechanic for BMI Refineries in East Butler. He attended the Butler Free Methodist Church. Mr. Riding was a veteran of WW II serving as a sergeant in the U. S. Army. He served during the occupation of Japan. He received the Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal of Japan. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed tinkering. He was a life member of the Teamsters Union.
Surviving are his wife, Ida Mae Elizabeth Reges Riding who he married
June 30, 1950, two daughters, Crystal Ann Riding of Butler, Pennsylvania, Cynthia I. Riding of Florida Keys, one sister, Shirley Skillman of New Castle, Pennsylvania, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Riding is preceded in death by eight sisters and 8 brothers.
Friends will be received at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania, on Thursday, November 20, 2003 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., Friday, November 21, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend David V. Hastings officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Burial Estates.

Shirley J. Patten
December 16, 1940 - September 19, 2003
Shirley J. Patten, 62 of Hoon Road, Butler, died Friday, September 19, 2003 at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Patten was born December 16, 1940 in Butler, PA, she was the daughter of Charles Clifford (Cliff) Aggas and Guyla Morrow Aggas.
She was formerly employed as a secretary for Barron Radio before her marriage. After her family was raised, she worked for over 10 years for the Bon-Ton Christmas Shop. Mrs. Patten probably was most recognized for operating her roadside sweet corn stand on the corner of Route 38 and Pine Tract Road at the site of the former Aggas Service Station, which she operated for 29 years. She enjoyed gardening, lawnwork, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are her husband Duane A. Patten, who she married
on November 8, 1963, one Son, Daryl Patten of Butler, Pennsylvania, one Daughter, Mrs. Scott (Renee) Campbell of Montery, California, two Grandchildren, Nicholas and Lucas Patten, her Mother, Mrs.Guyla Aggas of Chicora, Pennsylvania, one Brother, James Robert Aggas of West Mifflin, Pennsylvania, three Sisters, Virginia Hobbs of Butler, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Robert (Vera) Niggel of Chicora, Pennsylvania and Mrs. Robert (Carol) Scott of Butler, Pennsylvania, Peg Aggas her Sister-in-Law of Butler, Pennsylvania, Gary Shay her Brother-in-Law of Fenelton, Pennsylvania, and Paul Patten her Father-in-Law of Butler, Pennsylvania, and her beloved Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.
Preceding her in death were her Father, Charles Clifford Aggas, one Brother, Charles Clifford Aggas, Jr and one Sister, Geraldine Marie Shay.

Services will be held at the Springdale Lutheran Church, West Sunbury, Pennsylvania Monday, September 22, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. with David Adams officiating. Interment will follow in the Concord cemetery.

Kathryn Beatrice Monjar

Kathryn Beatrice "Bea" Monjar, 89 of New Castle Road, Butler, died Tuesday, November 18, 2003 at 6:30 p.m. at Sunnyview Home.
Born October 20, 1914 in Butler County, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Samuel George Martin and Martha Romaine Black.
Mrs. Monjar worked for Moyers Level Works in Parker, Pennsylvania. She was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church. She was a former deacon at her church, past Royal Matron of Ameranth Lodge of Chicora, past president of Mount Chestnut Women's Club and a former member of Armco golf club. Mrs. Monjar was a member of Parker City chapter #60 Order of Eastern Star.
Mrs. Monjar is survived by her husband Chester Maxwell Monjar, one sister, Mrs. Margaret Ellen Miller of Eau Claire, Pennsylvania, three brothers, Kenneth W. Martin of North Washington, Pennsylvania, Robert J. Martin of Dayton, Ohio, Charles F. Martin of Butler, Pennsylvania, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death was one sister and two brothers.
Friends will be received at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania, on Friday, November 21, 2003 from 11:00 a.m to 12:30 p.m.

Terry Jean Mitchell

Terry Jean Mitchell, 46 of Meadow View Lane, Butler, died Tuesday, September 16, 2003 in at her residence.
Born November 25, 1956 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Richard A. Wilson and Faye Doan.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of Cannan Baptist Church in Covington, Georgia.
Surviving are her husband Rex Leroy Mitchell, a daughter, Mirinda Ellen Wilbert of Butler, Pennsylvania, one grand-daughter, her mother, Mrs. Faye Wilson of Butler, Pennsylvania, four sisters, Joy Skal, Chris Andler, Gayle Wise and Holly Cooper all of Butler, Pennsylvania, and a number of nieces and nephews.
There will be no public visitation.

Marjorie H. Miller
October 16, 1914 - August 14, 2003
Marjorie Helen Miller, 88, of Bradyview Manor, East Brady, died Thursday at Bradyview.
Born in Tamaqua, Schuykill County, Oct. 16, 1914, she was the daughter of Arthur B. and Jennie S. Fleming.
She retired in 1972 as a home economics teacher for the Moniteau School District and enjoyed traveling and visiting family and friends.
Mrs. Miller was a member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are two sons, Jeffrey E. Miller of East Brady and Jon C. Miller of Harrisville; a daughter, Mrs. James (Judith L.) Weigle of Butler; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A brother, Charles Fleming of Binghamton, N.Y., and a number of nieces and nephews also survive. Her husband, Charles L. "Chuck" Miller, died March 9, 2003. A brother and a sister also preceded him in death.
MILLER - Friends of Marjorie Helen Miller, who died Thursday, Aug. 14, 2003, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from noon to 2 p.m. Monday at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St. Services will follow at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dennis Molnar, her church pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Butler County Memorial Park, Butler Township.

Doris Dittmer Forbs Mechling
June 14, 1914 - November 5, 2003
Doris Dittmer Forbs Mechling, 89 of Butler, died Wednesday, November 5, 2003 in Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born June 14, 1914 in Butler, PA, she was the daughter of George Albert Dittmer and Adda Ethel Garrard.
She attended St. Peter's Parochial School and was a graduate of Butler High School.
Mrs. Mechling worked for Jaffee's in the better dress department for 30 years.
Mrs. Mechling was a member of Middlesex Presbyterian Church, Lake Arthur Country Club and the Women's Wednesday Golf League.
She is survived by a daughter, Antoinette Forbes Tomko, and is the aunt of Gail Ciccarello, Melissa, Geoffry and Beth Gitlin, Lynne Wells and Sharon Day.
Preceding her in death were her husband John Laing Forbes, who was deceased in August 19, 1973, two sisters and also her second husband, Thomas Fritz Mechling, deceased in 1987.
Friends will be received at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, PA, from Sunday November 9, 2003 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., Monday November 10, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in North Side cemetery.
