Glenn G. Bartmas

January 27, 1958 - October 26, 2004

Glenn George Bartmas, age 46 of 125 Alpine Lane, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Tuesday, October 26, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at his residence.

Born Monday, January 27, 1958 in Butler, Pennsylvania he was the son of Glenn O. Bartmas and Winona Stamm Bartmas.

Mr. Bartmas was in the carpenter's union Local 2274 as a heavy carpenter in western Pennsylvania area building locks, dams and bridges.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, reading and nature.

He was an army veteran serving in Fort Knox infantry and Stuttgart Germany as a specialist 5th class.

Mr. Bartmas is survived by his wife Sharon Bartmas whom he married in October of 1980, by three sons, Luke Bartmas, Seth Bartmas, and Glenn "Scooter" Bartmas; one daughter, Shirley Bartmas, by his parents, Glenn O. and Winona Bartmas; by two brothers, Tim Bartmas, and Doug Bartmas; by three sisters, Gloria Pink, Teresa Lechine, and Dianna Stewart; all of Butler, Pennsylvania and by six nieces and eight nephews.

Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Thursday, October 28, 2004 from 7 to 9 p.m..

Services will be held at the North Main Street Church Of God on Friday, October 29, 2004 at 11:00 with Reverend Kenneth C. Hall officiating.

Armand R. Cingolani

July 2, 1929 - October 25, 2004

Armand R. Cingolani, Jr. age 75, born July 2, 1929 of Butler, died October 25, 2004 at 10:50 a.m. at Concordia Lutheran Home.

He was a prominent trial attorney accomplished in civil, divorce, criminal and appellate litigation.

He was a life long member of Saint Paul’s Roman Catholic Church. Armand graduated from Butler High School in 1947, Georgetown College of Arts and Sciences in 1951 and Georgetown University’s School of Law in 1953.

Then he wed the elegant and beautiful Jane Ellen Blissell and was immediately inducted into the United States Army.

He performed his service obligation as a military policeman during the Korean War.

Armand was admitted to the practice of law in Butler in 1956 and conducted a multi-disciplinary practice until May 26, 1998 when he suffered a traumatic brain injury after over 43 years of practice.

He worked with his father A. R. Cingolani, Sr. in the firm of Cingolani and Cingolani which was first established in 1925.

Throughout his school years he was active in theatre, debate, and the arts.

Armand excelled in portraiture and painting.

He met his wife in high school where both were finalist in the art show.

Together the couple traveled the world and especially enjoyed sailing at Lake Arthur, the Chesapeake Bay and the Caribbean Sea.

Ellen and Armand were married for 43 years until her death on February 26, 1996.

Armand enjoyed H.O. model railroading and the Oshkosh Air show.

His avocation was the practice of jazz music.

He was a gifted pianist and played in several groups throughout his life.

He studied advanced jazz piano until the end of his life.

Along with his gentle nature and sense of humor,

Armand had an exceptionally acute intellectual ability and a relentless curiosity about the world and humanity.

He was a listener and dedicated his life to serving his clients.

Bringing together deep reasoning skills with broad learning he was a formidable adversary in a courtroom and an experienced negotiator.

He had three children, Armand R. Cingolani, III, Esquire of Butler, Pennsylvania, Joan Carol Roth of Delray Beach,Florida and Paul W. Cingolani of East Quogue, New York.

Armand had five grandchildren, Armand R. Cingolani; III is the father of Armand R. Cingolani, IV, Joan is the mother Kira and Keenan Roth and Paul is the father of Miles and Logan Cingolani.

His father Armand R. Cingolani, Sr. and mother Clare Lucille Cingolani nee Koch predeceased him in May 1983 and February 1996 respectively.

Armand was one of four children, and he is survived by his brother Charles L. Cingolani of Hoechenschwand, Germany, John K. Cingolani of Butler, Pennsylvania and Nancy Sofis of Mount Lebanon, Pennsylvania.

He is survived by four nieces and three nephews.

Friends will be received at Thompson-Miller funeral home on Wednesday, October 27, 2004 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, October 28, 2004 at 10:00 a.m.

Interment will follow at Calvary cemetery, Butler, Pennsylvania.

Family suggest memorial donations be given to the Butler Memorial Hospital, 911 East Brady Street, Butler, Pennsylvania 16001 or to Concordia Lutheran Ministries, 615 North Pike Road, Cabot, Pennsylvania 16023.

Dolores L. Cumberland

June 28, 1926 - October 24, 2004

Dolores Leanore Cumberland, age 78 of Mar-Vel Drive, Butler, Pa, died Sunday, October 24, 2004 at 1:05 p.m. at 125 Mar-Vel Drive.

Born Monday, June 28, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Harvey Olney and the late Alice Hobby.

Mrs. Cumberland was a homemaker.

She was a member of Westminister Presbyterian Church in America.

She taught two year olds in Sunday School for 16 years.

She attended Houghton College in Houghton, New York.

Mrs. Cumberland is survived by three sons, Robin Cumberland of Ashtabula, Ohio, Christopher Cumberland of Butler, Pennsylvania, Joel Cumberland of West Sunbury, Pennsylvania; three daughters, Mrs. George (Deborah) Hoover of Butler, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Darryl (Shelley) Brown of Butler, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Brad (Colleen) Magill of Melbourne, Florida; thirteen grandchildren, a brother, Parker Olney of Tampa, Florida Number of nieces and nephews;

Mrs. Cumberland was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Roy Cumberland and, and by brother.

Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on no public visitation.

Services will be held at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in America Tuesday, October 26, 2004 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Dr. H. Curtis McDaniel officiating.

Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.

Dorothy H. Dellen

May 8, 1925 - October 17, 2004

Dorothy H. "Glory" Dellen, 79 of East Brady, died Sunday, October 17, 2004 in Allegheny General Hospital.

Born May 8, 1925 in Butler, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of George Gordon and Nellie Anthony.

Mrs. Dellen worked as a waitress for Vin and Joes retiring in 1986 after 25 plus years of service.

She was Lutheran by faith.

She was active with the Oneida Valley Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and active with the East Brady American Legion Auxiliary.

Mrs. Dellen is survived by one son, George V. Dellen of East Brady, Pennsylvania, one granddaughter, one grandson, one great grand daughter, one brother, Norman Gordon of Holly Hill, Florida, and by one sister, Mrs. William (Ruth) Stivenson of Butler, Pennsylvania.

Mrs. Dellen was preceded in death by her husband Silvester H. "Steve" Dellen, who passed away on March 6, 1991, by a daughter and a sister.

Friends will be received at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, PA, on Tuesday, October 19, 2004 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., Wednesday, October 20, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend Denis W. Molnar, pastor of Trinity Presbyterian church officiating.

Interment will follow in North Butler Presbyterian Church cemetery.

William F. Browning

February 15, 1924 - October 15, 2004

William F. Browning, 80 of North Main Street, Butler, died Friday, October 15, 2004 at 2:00 a.m. at his residence.

Born February 15, 1924 in Scottdale, he was the son of Frank Browning and Ruth Long.

He worked as a crane operator for Union local #137, New York. He was a member of St. Andrew's United Presbyterian Church.

He was a veteran of WWII where he fought in the European Theater with U. S. Army 71st Infantry Division.

He was a member of local 137 International Union of Operating Engineers.

He was a member of Philipstown lodge #236 F & AM and the Valley of White Plains Consistory.

Mr. Browning is survived by one brother, Robert Browning, three nieces and two nephews.

Mr. Browning was precede in death by his wife, Lila M. Browning, who passed away on November 9, 2002, and by two sisters.

A memorial service will be held at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home on Thursday, October 21, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Kate Filer pastor at St. Andrews U. P. Church officiating.

Interment will be in Rockland cemetery, Rockland, Pennsylvania.

Benjamin Warren Eberle

March 29, 1994 - October 8, 2004

Benjamin Warren Eberle, 10 of Heist Road, Butler, died Friday, October 8, 2004 at 8:45 p.m. at his residence.

Born March 29, 1994 in Butler, Pennsylvania, he was the son of William David Eberle and Audrey Farr.

He was a fifth grade student at Clearfield Elementary School. He was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints.

He played the trumpet and belonged to the school chorus. He was a Webelo in Cub Scout Pack 29.

He loved science, nature, art and building things with his hands. He wanted to be a geologist.

In addition to his parents, Benjamin is survived by two brothers, David Lyle Eberle, Charles (Charlie) William Eberle, three sisters, Kathryn (Kate) Shirleen Eberle, Audrey Margret Eberle, Hannah Elizabeth Eberle, all at home, by his maternal grandparents, E. Lyle and Shirleen T. Farr of Greensburg, Pennsylvania, and by a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.

Friends will be received at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, PA, on Tuesday, October 12, 2004 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Wednesday, October 13, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. with Bishop Richard C. Hartung officiating.

Interment will follow in Greenlawn Burial Estates.
