ANDREW GELET
Andrew Gelet, 76, of Ruffsdale RD2, died Tuesday, July 4, 2000, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born Oct. 21, 1923, in Wyano, a son of the late Thomas and Julia Pinchot Gelet. He retired after 38 years from U.S. Steel Corp., Duquesne Works. Before the war, he worked for the CCC Camps in New Mexico, then during World War II served his country as a Merchant Marine. Later, he joined the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Berlin Airlift and the
Korean War. He was a member of the Barren Run United Methodist Church and the Men's Bible Sunday school class, and was a member of the VFW #8659, Wyano. He is survived by his wife, Diane (Brunner) Gelet; two stepsons, Robert J. Kohuth Jr. and wife, Cathy, and William W. Kohuth and wife, Sherry; two stepgranddaughters, Amanda Marie White and Natalie Rose Kohuth; a stepgrandson, Johnathan Torok; two brothers , Dan of Warren, Ohio, and John Gelet of Glassport; and a sister, Julia Christner of Acme. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Anna (Penska) Gelet, in 1970; three brothers , Charles, Harry, and Richard Gelet; and two sisters , Mary Fulmer and Eva Ulery. Friends were received at the J. WILLIAM McCAULEY JR. FUNERAL HOME INC., West Newton, Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and will be received Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Service will be held Saturday in the funeral home at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Clifford Moore and the Rev. Herbert Peterson co-officiating. Interment West Newton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Barren Run United Methodist Church Building Fund.
MARY ALICE GRAHAM
Mary Alice Graham, 78, of Latrobe, died Wednesday, July 5, 2000, at Ligonier Gardens, Ligonier. She was born Jan. 18, 1922, in Derry Township, a daughter of the late Garland and Mabel "Ruth" Barclay Friedline. Prior to retirement, she was a teacher with the Greater Latrobe School District for 35 years, and was a member of Latrobe United Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Alton E. "Bill" Friedline; a sister, Thelma M. Fannie; and a nephew. Mary Alice is survived by a sister, Doris M. Fannie of Derry RD1; three nephews; a niece; and several grandnieces and grandnephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday in the MICHAEL J. QUINLISK FUNERAL HOME INC., 548 N. Chestnut St., Derry, where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. Donald Graff officiating. Interment will follow in Blairsville Cemetery.
PATRICIA S. HUSKEY
Patricia S. Huskey, 68, of Glenshaw, formerly of Ligonier, died Wednesday, July 5, 2000, in ManorCare, Ross Township. She was born Jan. 29, 1932, in Penn, a daughter of the late William J. Sr. and Gertrude Kahl Shaw. Patricia was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Ligonier. Throughout her life, she had devoted herself as a caregiver and as a nanny. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Morrow. She is survived by four daughters , Mrs. Robert (Monica) Dean of Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif., Mrs. Robert (Trudy) Ward of Pittsburgh, Mrs. Mark (Amy) Heintzelman of Glenshaw and Mrs. Carl (Melissa) Meltzer of Fort Collins, Colo.; three sons , Stanley P. (and wife, Candace) Huskey of Commerce, Ga., Brian E. (and wife, Kristin) Huskey of Allison Park and Patrick A. Huskey of Pittsburgh; seven grandchildren; and two brothers , Robert E. (and wife, Mary Jane) Shaw of Ligonier and William J. (and wife, Marge) Shaw Jr. of Ligonier. Friends will be received at the J. PAUL McCRACKEN FUNERAL CHAPEL INC., 144 E. Main St., Ligonier, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Friday. A vigil for the deceased service will be held in the funeral chapel Friday at 3:30 p.m. A blessing service will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Ligonier, with the Rev. Joseph P. Maddalena as celebrant. Interment in Ligonier Valley Cemetery, Ligonier.
BESS D. HUTCHINSON
Bess D. Hutchinson, 103, died Tuesday, July 4, 2000, in Fosnight Nursing Home. Born Feb. 14, 1897, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Alice Adair Dean. Mrs. Hutchinson was an active member of First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown and the Westminster Circle. She was employed in 1920 with Briscoe Auto Dealership. Survivors include a son, Robert E. Hutchinson of San Marcos, Calif.; a daughter, Eleanor H. Elsenbarth of West Deer; 11 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph E. Hutchinson Sr.; a son, Joseph E. Hutchinson Jr.; three brothers and a sister. Services and burial were private. Arrangements were by Schellhaas Funeral Home, Richland.

Elwood H. Jones, 79, of Pittsburgh, died July 5, 2000, in Allegheny General Hospital. Born April 16, 1921 in Chicago, Ill., he was the son of the late Harry Jones and Maverta Gasmire Jones. Jones and wife, Kimberly, of Chapel Hill, N.C.; one brother, Manford G. Jones; and two grandchildren. Patricia A. King, 69, of Ruffsdale RD1, died Thursday, July 6, 2000, at Mt. Pleasant. Born April 3, 1931, in South Huntingdon Township, a daughter of Mae Miller McCune of Greensburg and the late Hays E. McCune. She was a member of First Trinity United Church of Christ in Youngwood. Besides her Father , she was preceded in death by her son, Timothy J. King. Surviving, in addition to her mother , are her husband, James E. King; a daughter, Mrs. Ronald (Kimberly Ann) Ellison of North Myrtle Beach, S.C.; two sisters , Jean Sheppard of Scottdale and Connie McCune of Pittsburgh; and a stepbrother, James Boyle of Greensburg. EUGENE A. KREPIN
Eugene A. Krepin, 78, died Thursday, July 6, 2000 in UPMC St. Margaret, Pittsburgh. Born Nov. 14, 1921 in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Alexander and Anna Golubski Krepin.Mr. Krepin was a Navy veteran of both World War II and the
Korean War. He was a member of Carpenters Local 211.
Survivors include his wife, Florence Krepin; a daughter, Donna Krepin of Slippery Rock; and three sisters , Marie Oleniczak and Helen Szymanski, both of Lawrenceville, and Vicki Jatkowski of Millvale. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers , Edward Krepin and Joseph Krepin. Friends will be received from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday in Neely Funeral Home, 2208 Mt. John M. Mages, Sr., 65, died Wednesday, July 5, 2000, in UPMC Passavant, McCandless. He was born Dec. 19, 1934, to the late Leonard and Gertrude Mages. Mr. Mages was a
Korean War veteran. He was a retiree. Survivors include his wife, Bernice Borres Mages; a son, John Mages Jr. of Ross; three daughters , Debbie Critchlow of Cabot and Bonnie Handyside and Kim Mages, both of Shaler; three brothers , Ronald Mages of McCandless, James Mages of Shaler and David Fox of Zelienople; and six grandchildren. Mary L. (Passarelli) Moffa, 80, of Greensburg, died Wednesday, July 5, 2000, in the St. Anne Home, Greensburg. She was born April 3, 1920, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late John and Donina DePasquale Passarelli. She formerly had been employed by the Bell Telephone Co., Greensburg, and was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Greensburg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Ann Padula; and two brothers , Emilio and Anthony Passarelli. She is survived by her husband, Ernest E. Moffa; five sisters , Emily and her husband, Ernest Gennaccaro, of North Braddock, Mafalda Arrigonie of Forbes Road, Eva and her husband, John Cardella, of Midland, Mich., Carmella and her husband, Joseph Rock, of Gahanna, Ohio, and Lucille and her husband, Jon Fink, of Jeannette; and several nieces and nephews. Jane Carthew Muir, 82, of Lindenhurst, Ill., formerly of Wilmerding, died Wednesday, July 5, 2000, in Waukegan, Ill. She was born April 20, 1918, in Hollidaysburg, a daughter of the late John and Margaret Curry Carthew. She was a 1936 graduate of Union High School, Turtle Creek, and a graduate of Seton Hill College, Greensburg. She was a retired employee of Westinghouse Electric, Forest Hills, and a former member of St. Maurice Church, Forest Hills. Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles D. Muir; and a brother, Jack Carthew. She is survived by four children, John Muir of Glendale, Calif., David Muir of North Barrington, Ill., Dennis Muir of Gibsonia and Mary Jane Muir of Fox Lake, Ill.; nine grandchildren; a niece and nephew. ELSIE M. NEWQUIST
Elsie M. Newquist, 95, of Connersville, Ind., died Tuesday, July 4, 2000, in the emergency room of Fayette Memorial Hospital, Connersville. She was born Sept. 21, 1904, in Madison, Pa., the oldest of four daughters of William M. and Margaret Taylor Potts, and had lived her childhood years in Greensburg. On June 15, 1929, she was married in State College to Ralph R. Newquist of Youngwood, and in 1946, they moved to Connersville, Ind., for residence. Mr. Newquist was former president of Roots Blower. He later founded Relcon Inc. of Connersville and was former mayor of Connersville. Mr. Newquist died April 6, 1997. She was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church, a member of the Fayette County Garden Club and the John Conner Chapter of the daughters of the American Revolution. Survivors include a son and a daughter, William A. Newquist and wife, Sue, and Barbara Stine and husband, Paul, both of Connersville, Ind.; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two nieces and a nephew. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; and three sisters , Anna B. McIntyre, Helen G. McMurray and Sara C. Potts. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 7, at the Peace Lutheran Church, Connersville. Burial will be made in Dale Cemetery, Connersville.
