Harvey A. Mellott Jr.
FORT LOUDON, Pa. - Harvey A. Mellott Jr., 77, of 12807 Main St., died Monday, Aug. 31, 1998, at Avalon Manor Health Care Center, Hagerstown.
Born May 7, 1921, in Peters Township, Pa., he was the son of the late Harvey A. and Minerva Walker Mellott Sr.
He operated a dairy farm on Route 75 South, Mercersburg, Pa., for 33 years, retiring in 1986. He later worked for Mount Parnell Fisheries, Inc. of Fort Loudon, Pa., for five years.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
He was a member of Clayton Memorial Church of God, Mercersburg. He attended Evangel Assembly of God Church in McConnellsburg, Pa.
He was a former member of Pennsylvania Farmers Association.
He hunted.
He is survived by his wife, Betty M. Snyder Mellott, whom he married Nov. 8, 1947; three daughters, Ruby I. Bard of Lemasters, Pa., Nancy M. Mellott and Penny S. Mellott, both of Chambersburg, Pa.; two sisters, Helen Armstrong and Ethel McLaughlin, both of Mercersburg; and a grandson.
He was preceded in death by a grandson; a sister, and a brother.
Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home, 47 N. Park Ave., Mercersburg. The Rev. Belvy C. White and the Rev. Floyd E. Myers will officiate. Burial will be in Stenger Hill Cemetery, Fort Loudon. Military graveside services will be conducted by Charles Nitterhouse VFW Post 1599 Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Marie M. Shank
FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - Marie Martha Barnhart Shank, 83, of Lincoln Way East, Fayetteville, Pa., and formerly of Warfordsburg, Pa., died Tuesday, Sept. 1, 1998, at Chambersburg Hospital.
Born Nov. 24, 1914, in Warfordsburg, she was the daughter of the late James McCllan and Mary Ella Divelbliss Barnhart.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd L. Shank, in 1993.
She was retired from Musselmans Inc. in Biglerville, Pa., where she was a cannery worker.
She was a member of Harbor Light Temple in Chambersburg.
She is survived by three daughters, Verna M. Stevens of Needmore, Pa., Deloris Meek of Harrisburg, Pa., and Phyllis Patterson of Chambersburg; three sons, Lauren J. Shank of Chambersburg, E. Dean Shank of St. Albans, W.Va., and Thomas Boyd Shank of Ortanna, Pa; one brother, William Barnhart of St. Thomas, Pa.; 16 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, John Barnhart.
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Buck Valley Methodist Church in Buck Valley, Pa. The Rev. E. Dean Shank and the Rev. Arnold W. Gooden will officiate. Burial will be in the adjoining Buck Valley Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 141 W. Main St., Hancock; and on Friday one hour prior to the service at the church. The funeral home will be open Thursday from noon to 9 p.m.
Dennis J. Seaman
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Dennis J. Seaman, 47, of 840 Siloam Road, died Sunday, Aug. 30, 1998, at Chambersburg Hospital.
Born Oct. 1, 1950, in Chambersburg, he was the son of John and Evelyn L. Corwell Seaman, of Chambersburg.
He was employed as a truck driver for Lehman's Egg Service in Greencastle, Pa., for two years. He had been employed by Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Highway Department from 1973 to 1980. He then was employed by Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, from 1980 to 1995.
A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served in the U.S. Army.
He attended Calvary Baptist Church, Chambersburg.
He was a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 842, Chambersburg and Charles M. Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW, Chambersburg.
He played in the Chambersburg Softball League and had been active in bowling leagues in the Chambersburg area.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Brenda D. McDannell Seaman, whom he married on Oct. 27, 1968; one daughter, Kendra D. Berry of Chambersburg; one son, Shane J. Seaman of Chambersburg; one brother, Jerry L. Seaman of Chambersburg; and one granddaughter.
Services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Dan McClintock will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg, with military graveside services by Charles M. Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW.
Visitation will be at the funeral home Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Ruth M. Kegerreis
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Ruth M. Kegerreis, 95, a resident of Penn Hall Nursing Center, and formerly of 150 Highland Drive, died Monday, Aug. 31, 1998, at the nursing center.
Born Dec. 22, 1902, in Pitcairn, Pa., she was the daughter of the late John C. and Ella Jayne Mills Keebaugh.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald M. Kegerreis, in 1976.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of King Street United Brethren Church, Chambersburg, and a member of Buds of Promise Sunday School Class.
She crocheted and knitted.
She is survived by three daughters, Geraldine C. Weand of Pine Grove, Pa., Lois Louise Stambaugh and Sara Jayne Underkottler, both of Chambersburg; one son, James R. Kegerreis of Wilmington, Del.; two sisters, Anna Koser of Mansfield, Ohio, and Florence Fritz of Waynesboro, Pa.; one brother, Donald Keebaugh of Newville, Pa.; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by one son, Arthur Kegerreis; two sisters; seven brothers; and one granddaughter.
Services will be Thursday at 11:30 a.m. in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Lester F. Stine will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Jeanne Marie Monn, 67, of 11752 Carol Ave., who died Sunday, Aug. 30, 1998, is survived by a sister, Maxine Marcey of Arlington, Va.
James R. Hudson
FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - James R. Hudson, 67, of 5962 Fairway Drive West, and a former resident of Terre Haute, Ind., and Morris, Ill., died Sunday, Aug. 30, 1998, at DeWitt Memorial Army Community Hospital, Fort Belvoir, Va.
Born June 24, 1931, in Terre Haute, he was the son of the late S. Luther and Besse M. Klippert Hudson.
He was a graduate of the former Valley High School, West Terre Haute. He attended the University of Illinois.
He was employed by DuPont in Martinsburg, W.Va., for 36 years, retiring in 1988.
He was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church of Christ, Chambersburg, Pa.
He had been a Little League coach in Halfway for 10 years.
He was a golfer.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley A. Wassmer Hudson, whom he married on March 25, 1951; one daughter, Janet S. Boyers of Hagerstown; one son, James S. Hudson of Franklin, Tenn.; one brother, Robert E. Hudson of Urbana, Ill.; three granddaughters; and three grandsons.
A memorial service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. John's United Church of Christ, 1811 Lincoln Way East, Chambersburg. The Rev. Stephen W. Hoffman will officiate. Burial will be private.
There will be no viewing.
