Dora I. McCann Rosborough, 73, of Delmont, died Sunday, July 2, 2000, at Monsour Medical Center, Jeannette. She was born Sept. 15, 1926, in New Alexandria, a daughter of the late Harry V. and Louella Bennett McCann. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son, David Rosborough; a son-in-law, William Little; and a brother, Ben McCann. She was a homemaker and a member of the Order of White Shrine of Jerusalem, Westmoreland Shrine #18. Dora is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Odis M. Rosborough; a daughter, Donna Little of North Huntington; two sons , Ronald Rosborough and his wife, Cherie, of Hot Springs, Ark., and Raymond Rosborough and his wife, Becki, of Greensburg. She was the loving grandmother of Billy and wife, Diane Little, Ray and Renee Little, Brian and wife, Lynn Rosborough, Heather and husband, Chad Porter, Michelle and husband, William Fickle, and Meredith and Patrick Rosborough. She had six beautiful great-grandchildren: Christopher Davis, Billy, Dylan and Nika Little, Tyler Valerio and Zachery Rosborough. Three brothers and two sisters survive her, Harry McCann and wife, Mary, of Henderson, Nev., Kathryn Bates of Latrobe, Donald McCann of New Alexandria, Eleanor Miller and husband, Robert, of Seminole, Fla., and George McCann and wife, Ruth, of Latrobe. Also many nieces and nephews. Friends and relatives received at the VAIA FUNERAL HOME INC. Paul A. Sandvig, 55, of Murrysville, died Saturday, July 1, 2000. He was born May 5, 1945, in Menomonie, Wis., a son of the late Arthur and Lois Halpin Sandvig. He was previously employed by Westinghouse Energy Center, Monroeville, with 29 years of service, and was currently employed by Allegheny Power as a computer systems analyst. He is survived by his wife, Marie Checchi Sandvig; a son, Christopher of Pittsburgh; a daughter, Renee of Arlington, Va.; and a brother, Gene Sandvig of Racine, Wis. Visitation Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the JOHN T. HART FUNERAL HOME, Murrysville, where a service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. with Father John Moineau officiating. M. Fidelis Stairs, 91, formerly of Greensburg, died Monday, July 3, 2000, at Edgewood Nursing Center, Youngstown, Pa. She was born Sept. 23, 1908, in New Stanton, a daughter of the late Ambrose and Mary T. (Short) Kintz. She was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral, Greensburg, and was a former member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and St. Cecilia Catholic Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Stairs; a stepson, Carl H. Stairs; four brothers , William, Clarence, Clyde, and Leonard Kintz; and a sister, Hilda Kintz. She is survived by three sons , Charles E. Buchanan and wife, Donnie, of Latrobe RD1, Francis J. Buchanan and wife, Ruth, of Beaver Falls, and James L. Buchanan and wife, Jane, of Taylors, S.C.; two daughters , Mrs. Harry (Mary Jane) Carr of Greensburg RD12 and Mrs. Ross (Lois) Campbell of North Huntingdon; a stepson, Robert Stairs and wife, Vern, of Whitney; 27 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; a brother, Louis Kintz of Gray Station; a sister, Bertha Sparber of Cortland, Ohio; a daughter-in-law, Margaret Stairs of Aliquippa; and a number of nieces and nephews. JACK R. WRIGHT
Jack R. Wright, 75, of McCandless, died Monday, July 3, 2000, in Manor Care Nursing Home, Ross. Born September 27, 1924 in Laurel, Miss., he was the son of the late Willie Wright and Otzie Rhee Anderson. Mr. Wright graduated from Mississippi State University in 1950. He worked as an accountant at US Steel Co. for 33 years and was a US Navy veteran of the
Korean War. He was also a member of the North Hills Community Baptist Church, Ross. Survivors include his wife, Gloria "Peggy" F. Wright; one daughter, Melanie Affinito of McCandless; one son, R. Alan Wright of McCandless; one sister, Evelyn Holcombe of Laurel, Miss.; five brothers , Harold Wright of New Orleans, La., Ellis Wright of Alamogordo, N.M., and Gerald Wright, Joseph Wright and George Wright, all of Laurel, Miss. He was also survived by two grandsons and two grand- daughters . In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, William Wright. Robert K. "Bob" Barger Sr., 63, of Latrobe RD5, died Tuesday, July 4, 2000, at Latrobe Area Hospital. He was born Feb. 2, 1937, in Latrobe, a son of the late Arthur and Ethel R. Shirey Barger. Employed by Nu-Kote, Derry, and a U.S. Air Force veteran, he was a member of Kingston Veterans and Sportsmen's, White Eagles, St. Joseph's Club, Latrobe VFW, and the Lloydsville Fire Company. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters and two grandsons. Bob is survived by his wife, Phyllis A. Zemba Barger; children, Robert K. Floyd S. Bloom, 93, of Unity Township, died Monday, July 3, 2000, in the St. Anne Home, Greensburg. He was born Sept. 20, 1906, in New Millport (Clearfield County), a son of the late Allen H. and Cornelia Tobias Bloom. He was a member of the Charter Oak United Methodist Church of Greensburg. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Alyce Ankeny Bloom; and several siblings. Prior to his retirement in 1971, he had been employed as a math teacher at the Greensburg Salem Senior High School. He was the last member of his family and is survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the BARNHART FUNERAL HOME, 505 E. Doris M. (Peters) Bossart, 76, of Indio, Calif., formerly of Greensburg, died Monday, July 3, 2000, at home. She was born Oct. 15, 1923, in Greensburg, the daughter of the late John and Emma Kate (Cover) Peters. She was a member of the O.E.S. Chapter 400, Irwin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne H. Bossart, in 1984; and a brother, John Peters. Larry S. Bridge, 37, of Morgan City, La., formerly of Latrobe, died Friday, June 30, 2000, in Louisiana . He was born Feb. 28, 1963, in Latrobe, a son of Iona M. Zeltner Bridge of Florida and the late Joseph G. Bridge. He was a former member of Sacred Heart Church, Youngstown, Pa. He was employed by the Candies Fleet of Louisiana . He served with the U.S. Marine Corps in Beirut, Lebanon, attaining the rank of lance corporal. In addition to his mother , Iona, and her close friend, Robert Ramsey, he is survived by four brothers , Joseph L. Bridge and his wife, Roberta, of Sophia, N.C., Rodney A. Bridge and his wife, Susan, of Latrobe, Timothy C. Bridge and his wife, Lisa, of Latrobe and Barry G. Bridge of Louisiana ; a sister, Sandra D. Kelly A. Burtt-Edgar, 40, of Export, died Monday, July 3, 2000, in UPMC Presbyterian, Oakland. She was born Sept. 2, 1959, in DuBois, the daughter of Robert E.S. and Aileen Anderson Burtt of Mt. Lebanon. She was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and studied at the University of Toulouse, France. She was co-owner with her husband of Play It Again Sports, Greensburg. She was a member of the Christ's Lutheran Church, Murrysville, Scandinavian Society of Western Pa., and the Clan Ramsay Association of North America. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Jeffrey L. Edgar; a son, Leif; a daughter, Greta; two brothers , Robert E. Burtt of Cranberry Township and Anders J. Gladys Marwick Calhoun, 85, of Slickville (Salem Township), died Tuesday, July 4, 2000, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. She was born Jan. 28, 1915, in Patton (Loyalhanna Township), a daughter of the late Nicholas and Anna Buskovich Marwick. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed at the Federal Laboratories (Breeze Industries) in Tunnelton. She attended the Slickville Presbyterian Church for more than 50 years, and was a member of the Slickville Senior Citizens. She will be remembered as a loving mother , grandmother, and great-grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph A. Calhoun, in 1977; a daughter, Kathleen E. Hornock, in 1993; two brothers , George and Patrick Marwick; and a sister, Annis "Bonnie" Amschler. She is survived by four daughters and a son, Jean C.
