Dale W. Winegardner
BURNT CABINS, Pa. - Dale W. Winegardner, 72, of Burnt Cabins, died Friday, Aug. 7, 1998, at Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Pa.
Born Aug. 30, 1925, in Fort Littleton, Pa., he was the son of the late Thad M. and Emma Gelvin Winegardner.
He was employed as a truck driver, security guard and as a township maintenance employee.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1946; and in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1947 to 1949.
He was a member of Dry Run American Legion Post 232, Aerie 4274 Fraternal Order of Eagles, Bishop-Raker Post 655 VFW in McConnellsburg, Pa., and Armed Guard Veterans of World War II National Organization.
He is survived by his wife, Geraldine E. Mask, whom he married June 28, 1948; two daughters, Sandra Orth of Fort Littleton, and Catherine Hall of Burnt Cabins; four brothers, Steve Winegardner of Fort Littleton, Rodney Winegardner of Needmore, Pa., Darin Winegardner of McConnellsburg, and Derrick Winegardner of Burnt Cabins; three sisters, LaVerne Brown of Hustontown, Pa., Lois Frehn of Shade Gap, Pa., and Emma Lee Brown of Shippensburg, Pa.; two brothers, Glenn Winegardner of Fort Littleton, and Galen Winegardner of Willow Hill, Pa.; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at M.R. Brown Funeral Home in Hustontown. The Rev. Belvy White will officiate. Burial will be in Fort Littleton Cemetery.
Friends will call at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m., and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday.
Edward A. Rock Sr.
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Edward Arthur Rock Sr., 83, of 513 N. Franklin St., died Sunday, Aug. 9, 1998, at ManorCare Health Services in Chambersburg.
Born May 29, 1915, in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late Clyde P. and Rose Hoffman Rock.
His wife, Madeline V. Johns, died in 1990.
He was employed as a truck driver for 40 years by Shively Dairies and worked as a janitor for Grove Manufacturing, and for Public Opinion Circulation.
He was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church.
He also was a member of Knights of Columbus and Izaak Walton Coin Club.
He is survived by three daughters, Nancy Marie Worthing of Waterfall, Pa., Barbara J. Garland of Chambersburg, and Norma Yvonne Gsell of Greencastle, Pa.; four sons, Edward A. Rock Jr. of Chambersburg, Joseph C. Rock Sr. of Fayetteville, Pa., Regis E. Rock of Orange Park, Fla., and Stephen D. Rock of St. Thomas, Pa.; 22 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn J. Caldwell; and a sister, Martha Hoover.
Services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 320 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg. The Rev. Luis Rodriguez will officiate. Burial will be in Corpus Christi Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, 6492 Lincoln Way West, St. Thomas, where a wake service will be held at 8 p.m. The funeral home will be open from 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
Timothy J. Wyborski
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Timothy Jude Wyborski, of Waynesboro, died Thursday, Aug. 6, 1998.
He was the son of the Rev. Deacon Nicholas and Wanda Wyborski.
He is survived by his grandmother, Frances Reinhart; two sisters, Johanna Naccash and Catherine Hess; two brothers, Joseph Wyborski and Adam Wyborski; and aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
An Office of Christian Burial will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Nativity Orthodox Church, 8916 Center St., Manassas, Va.
Friends may call today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Murphy Funeral Home of Arlington, 4510 Wilson Blvd., Arlington, Va., where a memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the building fund of St. Mary's Orthodox Church in Chambersburg, Pa.
Arnold L. Shindledecker
FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - Arnold L. Shindledecker, 66, of 378 Valley Drive, died Monday, Aug. 10, 1998, at Chambersburg Hospital, Chambersburg, Pa.
Born March 20, 1932, in Fairfield, Pa., he was the son of the late Loyd G. and Ruth N. Lightner Shindledecker.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pola M. Bagienski Shindledecker, in 1994.
He was a truck driver at Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg for 31 years, retiring in 1993.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served in the Korean War.
He was a member of Burt J. Asper Post 46, American Legion and Hume, McNeal, Byers AMVETS Post 224, both of Chambersburg; and Catholic War Veterans Association, Bonneauville, Pa.
He is survived by a daughter, Lori M. Suders of Fayetteville; and two granddaughters, Christina L. Suders and Jenifer E. Suders, both of Fayetteville.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Lemaster.
Services will be private.
There will be no viewing.

Sara F. Eshleman
HARRISONBURG, Va. - Sara Frances Eshleman, 90, of Harrisonburg, died Monday, Aug. 10, 1998, at Oak Lea Nursing Home, Harrisonburg.
Born Aug. 13, 1907, in Pulaski, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Enoch J. and Mary Emma Spiker Zook.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Merle Weaver Eshleman, in 1991.
She had worked with her husband, a medical missionary to Tanzania, East Africa, from 1940 to 1954. She then worked as office manager for her husban's private medical practice in Harrisonburg.
She was a member of Park View Mennonite Church, Harrisonburg.
She is survived by a son, David Eshleman of Harrisonburg; a daughter, Dr. Miriam E. Warner of Walnut Creek, Calif.; a sister, Mary Emma Barkley of Scottdale, Pa.; two brothers, Oren Zook of Gerard, Ohio, and Homer Zook of New Wilington, Pa.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Parkview Mennonite Church, Harrisonburg. The Rev. Shirlee K. Yoder, the Rev. Owen Burkholder and the Rev. Richard Martin will officiate. Private burial will be Friday at Weaver's Mennonite Cemetery, Harrisonburg.
There will be no viewing.

Tony E. Bigler
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Tony E. Bigler, 35, of 2381 Falling Spring Road, died Tuesday, Aug. 11, 1998, at his home.
Born Feb. 15, 1963, in Chambersburg, he was the son of Roy D. Bigler of Shippensburg, Pa., and the late Beatrice M. Divelbiss Bigler.
He was a member of the Marine Corps League, Hume-McNeal-Byers AMVETS Post 224 and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 842, all of Chambersburg.
He hunted and rode motorcycles.
In addition to his Father, he is survived by his wife, Ginger Appleby Bigler; two sisters, Cynthia S. Henry of Biglerville, Pa., and Lydia D. Flory of St. Thomas, Pa.; a brother, Albert L. Bigler of Chambersburg; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be Friday at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Paul B. Baker will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.
The viewing will be Friday one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
Glenn W. Rock Sr.
QUINCY, Pa. - Glenn W. Rock Sr., 77, a resident of Quincy United Methodist Home and formerly of 8233 Anthony Highway, Waynesboro, Pa., died Tuesday, Aug. 11, 1998, at the nursing home.
Born Dec. 19, 1920, in Mont Alto, Pa., he was the son of the late Charles I. Rock Sr. and Iva Myrtle Dull Rock.
He attended Quincy schools.
Early in his life, he was employed by Knouse Foods in the orchards. Before retiring, he worked as a custodian at Penn State/Mont Alto Campus for 10 years.
A U.S. Army veteran, he served in the European Theater during World War II. He also served in Korea during the Korean War. He earned the Purple Heart, the Good Conduct Medal and the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with five Bronze Stars.
He was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Waynesboro.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret E. "Peg" Heckman Rock, whom he married Dec. 14, 1951; a sister, Mary West of Springfield, Tenn.; three brothers, Charles I. Rock Jr. of Waynesboro, John Rock of Mont Alto and Robert Rock of Zullinger, Pa.; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Glenn W. "Sam" Rock II, in 1995; and two sisters, Mildred True and Jeanne L. Barnett.
Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Grace Baptist Church, 400 N. Grant St., Waynesboro. Pastor John F. Huff will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro, with military graveside services by Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW Honor Guard, Chambersburg.
The family will receive friends Friday one hour prior to services at the church.

Patricia A. Robinson
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Patricia A. Robinson, 57, of 226 N. Hackberry Drive, died Wednesday, Aug. 12, 1998, at her home.
Born July 11, 1941, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Chester R. Rosenberry and Isabell Gilbert Hykes.
She was a 1959 graduate of Chambersburg High School, Chambersburg.
She had been employed in the laundry department of Chambersburg Hospital.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald E. Robinson; two sons, John W. Gilbert of Chambersburg and Robert L. Carbaugh of Shippensburg, Pa.; a brother, Edward P. Hykes of Chambersburg; and three grandchildren.
Services will be Friday at 11:30 a.m. in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Paul B. Baker will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Chambersburg.
The viewing will be Friday one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
Cora B. Bernhardt
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - Cora Belle Bernhardt, 99, of 730 Palas, died Tuesday, Aug. 11, 1998, in Cambridge Manor Nursing Home in Fairfield, Conn.
Born Feb. 24, 1899, in Shippensburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late John M. and Clara M. Deihl Coy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert W. Bernhardt, in 1964.
She was employed by the Lutz Factory in Shippensburg. She later was employed as a domestic worker for various families, retiring in 1974.
She helped to raise Cheryl Chamberlain Swetz.
She is survived by a niece, Mary Jane Cool of Waynesboro, Pa.
Graveside services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in Norland Cemetery in Chambersburg, Pa. The Rev. Lynn D. Trutt will officiate.
