Leighton Cissna
SOUTH MOUNTAIN, Pa. - Leighton Cissna, 74, of South Mountain Restoration Center, and formerly of Clarks Summit, Pa., died Sunday, June 28, 1998, at the center.
Born July 14, 1923, in Bayonne, N.J., he was the son of the late Robert and Eva Clark Cissna.
He worked as a janitor.
He was a veteran of World War II.
He is survived by one brother, Robert Cissna of Belmont, Calif.
Services will be today at 2 p.m. in the auditorium of South Mountain Restoration Center. The Rev. Richard Stumply will officiate. Burial will be private.

Virginia M. Cordell
GETTYSBURG, Pa. - Virginia M. "Ginny" Cordell, 72, of 15 Regency Circle, died Wednesday, July 1, 1998, at her home.
Born Feb. 11, 1926, in Waynesboro, Pa., she was the daughter of the late David and Della Harnish Martin.
She was a 1943 graduate of Greencastle (Pa.) High School and graduated from Thompson's Business School of York, Pa.
She worked in the Gettysburg tourist industry, working for T.E.M. Inc. of Gettysburg as manager of the accounting department. She also worked for the former Leroy Smith Enterprises.
She was a member of Lower Marsh Creek Presbyterian Church near Gettysburg, where she sang in the church choir.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Donald E. "Don" Cordell, three daughters, Donna Ruth Genoese of York, Diane Lynn Cordell of Maple Shade, N.J., and Holly Martin of Gettysburg; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Alta Ruth Koontz; and two brothers, Harold Martin and Ralph Martin.
A memorial service will be Saturday, July 11, at 11 a.m. at Lower Marsh Creek Presbyterian Church, 1865 Knoxlyn Road, Gettysburg. The Revs. Clyde Brown, Robert MacAskill, Spencer VanGulick and Dale Williams will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Lower Marsh Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery near Gettysburg.
There will be no public viewing.

Geneva Fessler
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Geneva Kathrine Finney Fessler, 84, of 216 W. King St., Waynesboro, died Thursday, July 2, 1998, at Manorcare Health Services, Chambersburg, Pa.
Born Feb. 19, 1914, in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late George and Ruth Addlesberger Finney.
She attended Waynesboro schools.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Albert Fessler, in 1974. They were married Nov. 7, 1931. She moved to King Street in 1975.
She was a member of the Ringgold Church of Christ in Ringgold.
She is survived by five daughters, Joyce A. Mason of Hagerstown, Sally K. Angle, Bonnie S. Bricker and Connie R. Fessler, all of Waynesboro, and Cindy L. Brindle of Chambersburg; three sons, Richard Eugene Fessler, Paul L. Fessler and Terry R. Fessler, all of Waynesboro; 21 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Robert L. Fessler and Gary L. Fessler; and two brothers, Paul Finney and Edward Finney.
Private services were held Friday, July 3, 1998, at Grove Funeral Home, Waynesboro. Rev. John F. Huff officiated. Burial was in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.

Laban A. Wadel
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Laban A. Wadel, 85, a resident of Menno-Haven and formerly of Pinola, Pa., died Friday, July 3, 1998, at Menno-Haven.
Born May 11, 1913, in Franklin County, Pa., he was the son of the late John P. and Katie Nye Wadel.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Frances Hock Wadel, in 1936; and by his second wife, Grace Lehman Wadel, in 1980.
He retired from Knouse Foods, Ortanna, Pa.
He was a member of Rowe Mennonite Church, Shippensburg, Pa.
He is survived by two daughters, Almeda Martin and Naomi G. Wadel, both of Shippensburg; four sons, Clyde L. Wadel of Martinsburg, Pa., Nathan L. Wadel and Ray E. Wadel, both of Chambersburg, and Marvin J. Wadel of Orrstown, Pa.; two sisters, Lydia Lehman and Anna Crider, both of Chambersburg; 28 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Harold L. Wadel; three grandchildren; a great-grandson; three sisters and three brothers.
Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Rowe Mennonite Church. Ellis Martin, John Horst, Kenneth Wadel and Allen Martin will officiate. Burial will be in Rowe Cemetery.
Viewing will be today from 4 to 9 p.m. at Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, 112 W. King St., Shippensburg; and following services at the church Monday.

Marjorie L. Haines
MILLERSVILLE, Pa. - Marjorie L. Haines, 69, of 604 Lynne Lane and formerly of Hagerstown, died Friday July 3, 1998, at Essa Flory Hospice Center, Lancaster, Pa.
Born in Samples Manor, Md., she was the daughter of the late Ralph E. and Mary Louise Milburn.
She had been a secretary in the OB-GYN Division at Washington County Hospital for more than 22 years, retiring in 1986.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Lancaster.
She formerly taught Sunday school in Hagerstown.
She is survived by her husband, Glenn W. Haines Sr.; a son, Glenn W. Haines III of Lancaster; a sister, Alice Harris of Pleasant Valley, Va.; a brother, Ralph E. Milburn of Ohio; and two grandsons.
Services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 530 Milton Road, Lancaster. Burial will be in Millersville Mennonite Cemetery.
Viewing will be Tuesday one hour prior to services at the church.

Thomas F. Sloan
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Thomas F. Sloan, 83, of 144 Village Square and formerly of North Second Street, McConnellsburg, Pa., and Zullinger, Pa., died Thursday, July 2, 1998, at Chambersburg Hospital.
Born Oct. 1, 1914, in McConnellsburg, he was the son of the late Walter Reed and Mabel Leon Trout Sloan.
He was a 1932 graduate of McConnellsburg High School and a 1937 graduate of Pennsylvania State University.
He retired as a refrigeration engineer from Frick Co., Waynesboro, Pa.
He was a member of McConnellsburg United Presbyterian Church.
He was a member of sons of the American Revolution and Narrows Gun Club. He was an elder of McConnellsburg United Presbyterian Church and a former trustee of Presbyterian Church of Waynesboro.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah I. "Sally" Viehdorfer Sloan, whom he married Nov. 10, 1934; a daughter, Kay Sloan Hanna of Oak Park, Ill.; a son, James F. Sloan of Newnan, Ga.; a sister, Matilda Sloan Wine of Greencastle, Pa.; and four grandchildren.
Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at McConnellsburg United Presbyterian Church. The Revs. Trent Hancock and Angela Hancock will officiate. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, McConnellsburg.
Visitation will be today from 2 to 9 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 7 to 9 p.m. at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, McConnellsburg, and on Monday one hour prior to services at the church.
David J. Hollabaugh
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - David J. Hollabaugh, 42, of 323 S. Main St., died Thursday, July 2, 1998, at Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, Pa.
Born April 9, 1956, in Altoona, Pa., he was the son of Marjorie E. Conrad Hollabaugh of Altoona and the late Arthur L. Hollabaugh.
He attended Altoona High School.
He was a member of Open Door Church of Chambersburg.
He was a life member of Chambersburg Fire Police and a member of Franklin County Fire Policeman's Association.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Donna Lene Crider Hollabaugh, whom he married July 17, 1984; three daughters, Toshia L. Hollabaugh, Jessica M. Hollabaugh and Susan G. Hollabaugh, all at home; three sisters, Mary Jane Wolf, Sharon A. Beere and Verna M. Schroeder, all of Altoona; two brothers, Arthur L. Hollabaugh Jr. and Robert L. Hollabaugh, both of Altoona; nieces and nephews.
Services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Miller-Grove Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington St., Greencastle, Pa. The Rev. Arthur Brown will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Greencastle.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Steven R. Jones Sr.
STEELTON, Pa. - Steven R. Jones Sr., 46, of 432 Lincoln St., died Wednesday, July 1, 1998, at Rainbow Home of Berks County, Wernersville, Pa.
Born May 24, 1952, in Chambersburg, Pa., he was the son of Rachel G. Jackson Jones of Philadelphia and the late Ferdinand R. Jones Sr.
He had attended Harrisburg (Pa.) Area Community College.
He had been employed at New Cumberland Army Depot, New Cumberland, Pa.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a daughter, Chy Colbert of Harrisburg; three sons, Steven R. Jones Jr., Damien Jones and Rendell Jones, all of Harrisburg; seven sisters, Phyllis Tasker and Shianne Johnson, both of Harrisburg, Jacqueline McCray of Steelton, Deborah L. Colbert of Greensboro, N.C., Beverly Spoonhour of Fayetteville, Pa., Clarissa Evans of New Orleans and Faye Taylor of Darby, Pa.; six brothers, Ferdinand Jones Jr. and Daniel Johnson, both of Philadelphia, Michael Jones of Los Angeles, Reginald Jones of Washington, D.C., and Gregory Jones and Gary O. Johnson, both of Scranton, Pa.; aunts and uncles.
Services will be at noon Thursday at Mount Moriah Baptist Church, 230 Mount Moriah St., Chambersburg. The Rev. G. Nathan Bell will officiate. Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery, Chambersburg.

Ellis I. Lee
GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Ellis I. Lee, 72, of 11440 Worleytown Road, died Friday, July 3, 1998, at Chambersburg (Pa.) Hospital.
Born Dec. 11, 1925, in Altoona, Pa., he was the son of the late James and Miernae Satterfield Lee.
He attended Cochran High School, Johnstown, Pa.
He was employed as a forklift operator at the former James River of Chambersburg plant, retiring in 1988 after 22 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Irene D. Doell Lee, whom he married Feb. 14, 1948; two sons, Raymond E. Lee of Maxton, N.C., and Mark B. Lee of Greencastle; three grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Lorraine A. Lehman and Doris Crum; and a brother, Hubert A. B. Lee.
Memorial services will be Monday at 7 p.m. at Macedonia United Brethren Church, 11887 Worleytown Road, Greencastle. The Rev. Gayle L. Ruble Sr. will officiate.
