Jane B. Christman
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Jane B. Christman, 80, of 200 N. Main St., and formerly of 7390 Lincoln Way West, St. Thomas, Pa., died Thursday, April 30, 1998, at Chambersburg Hospital.
Born Aug. 16, 1917, in Battle Township, Iowa, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Lula May Dunkleberger Brownlee.
Her husband, Morris S. "Buck" Christman, died in 1992.
She retired as a legal secretary in the office of attorney J. Glenn Benedict. Before that she was employed as a court reporter in Franklin County, Pa., for a number of years.
She was a member of Spirit of Christ Community Church in Chambersburg, where she served as missions secretary for many years. She opened her home to missionaries. She also coordinated the publication of the church's first cookbook.
She also was a member of Franklin County Rose Society and a former member of St. Thomas Fire Co. Auxiliary.
She is survived by two sons, Mark L. Christman of Chambersburg and David R. Christman of Antelope, Mont.; a brother, Reynold R. Brownlee of Lewistown, Mont.; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.
Services will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Spirit of Christ Community Church, 1985 Wenger Lane, Chambersburg. The Rev. W.K. "Russ" Lee will officiate. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery.
A viewing will be held at the church one hour prior to the service on Sunday.

Vernon B. Barr
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Vernon B. Barr, 74, of 2244 Fisher Road, died Wednesday, April 29, 1998, at Penn Hall Nursing Center in Chambersburg.
Born Jan. 22, 1924, in Downsville, he was the son of the late Nevin and Mamie Bitner Barr.
He was employed as a welder by Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg, retiring after 30 years of service.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army.
He was of the Protestant faith.
He was a life member of Harry D. Zeigler Post 6319 VFW in Greencastle, Pa.
He is survived by his wife, Lavenia Snyder Barr; one daughter, Debra Barr of Charlotte, N.C.; one sister, Delores Kelly of Hagerstown; and one granddaughter, Lauren Barr Sollenberger of Charlotte.
Graveside services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m., at Lincoln Cemetery in Chambersburg. The Rev. Paul B. Baker will officiate.
There will be no viewing.

Thomas S. Short Sr.
MARLTON, N.J. - Thomas S. Short Sr., 69, of 26 Brittany Blvd., and formerly of Chambersburg, Pa., and Las Vegas, died Wednesday, April 29, 1998, at West Jersey Hospital in Marlton.
Born April 27, 1929, in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late David M. and Marion Monn Short.
He attended Chambersburg High School.
He was a manager at various social and veterans' clubs in the Chambersburg and Waynesboro, Pa., areas.
He attended King Street United Brethren Church in Chambersburg.
He is survived by his wife, Jean E. Glessner Short, whom he married Dec. 25, 1947; a daughter, Barbara J. Norris of Poway, Calif.; a son, Thomas R. Short Jr. of Marlton; two brothers, Arthur Short of Waynesboro and Kenneth Short of Chambersburg; five grandsons; and a great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Short; and two brothers, Milton Short and Clarence Short.
Services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Paul B. Baker will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens in Chambersburg.
A viewing will be held at the funeral home Saturday one hour prior to the service.
Frank E. Belinc
ST. THOMAS, Pa. - Frank E. Belinc, 84, of 6204 Jack Road, died Tuesday, April 28, 1998, at his son's home.
Born Sept. 23, 1913, in Bonn, Germany, he was the son of the late George and Johanna Belinc.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Loscar Belinc, in 1993.
He was a mechanic at Letterkenny for 33 years, retiring in 1975.
He served with the U.S. Army in World War II and with the U.S. Air Force in the Korean War.
He was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church.
He is survived by a son, Michael F. Belinc of State College, Pa.; a stepdaughter, Elizabeth Swales III Of Edison, N.J.; two sisters, Joan Miles of Dennisport, Mass. and Mary Grybel of Wyandotte, Mich.; four brothers, Joseph Belinc of Southgate, Mich., Ernie Belinc of Trenton, Mich., Martin Belinc of Wyandotte and Ludwig Belinc of Newark, N.J.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Robert G. Sellers Funeral Home, 297 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, Pa. The Rev. Jude Dawson-Amoah will officiate. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday one hour prior to services.
David R. Taylor
FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - David R. "Ronnie" Taylor, 59, of 383 Westview Road, died Wednesday, April 29, 1998, at Chambersburg (Pa.) Hospital.
Born April 11, 1939, in Chambersburg, he was the son of Katherine Moore "Kitty" Ryder of Fayetteville; and the late Ronald E. Taylor. He was the stepson of Harold K. Ryder of Fayetteville.
He was a retired broadcasting engineer in radio and television.
He served in the U.S. Army.
He was of the Lutheran faith.
He is survived by several cousins.
Graveside services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Norland Cemetery in Chambersburg. The Rev. Frank O. Monroe will officiate.
There will be no viewing, however, friends are invited to the graveside service.

Iris C. Henicle
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Iris Cawkwell Henicle, 88, of 11269 Mentzer Gap Road, died Thursday, April 30, 1998, at Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown.
Born May 27, 1909, in Sheffield, England, she was the daughter of the late George and Edith Harvey Cawkwell.
Her husband, Paul F. "Casey" Henicle, died in 1986. They were married in October 1935.
She was employed as a beautician.
She is survived by a son, Paul M. Henicle of Hagerstown; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Edith Holland; and a brother, George Cawkwell.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Burns Hill Cemetery in Waynesboro. Pastor Richard A. Seaks will officiate.
There will be no public viewing.

Glenn E. Naugle
FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - Glenn Edward Naugle, 79, of 12691 Loop Road, died Thursday, April 30, 1998, at his home.
Born March 2, 1919, in South Mountain, Pa., he was the son of the late Harry and Helen Wagaman Naugle.
He was employed as a truck driver for East Fayetteville Elevator Co. for 23 years. He then was an equipment operator for the Department of Forest and Waters in Caledonia State Park for 19 years, retiring in 1984.
He is survived by his wife, Isabel Brown Naugle, whom he married March 22, 1943; three daughters, Nancy L. Kauffman, Linda M. Shepard and Angela S. Baker, all of South Mountain; five sons, Thomas E. Naugle of Fayetteville, and Larry J. Naugle, Rodger L. Naugle, Anthony C. Naugle and Jeffery L. Naugle, all of South Mountain; eight sisters, Gladys Kauffman, a resident of Quincy United Methodist Home, Myrtle Butler of York, Pa., Leona Hartman, Ruth Snively and Miriam Gardenhour, all of Waynesboro, Lillian Monn of South Mountain, Charlotte Lachman of Gettysburg, Pa., and Delores McCardle of Neelyton, Pa.; two brothers, Harry Naugle of Quincy and Harold D. Naugle of Fayetteville; 19 grandchildren; a stepgrandson; and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Glenn E. Naugle Jr.; two sisters, Pansy Bigham and Genieve Runk; two brothers, George Naugle and Carroll Naugle; and a grandson.
Services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. Pastor C. Roy Daywalt will officiate. Burial will be in Strang's Cemetery in South Mountain.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Charles R. Schwarck Sr.
MONT ALTO, Pa. - Charles R. Schwarck Sr., 85, of 40 Reynolds Ave., died Thursday, April 30, 1998, at his home.
Born March 17, 1913, in New York, N.Y., he was the son of the late Charles and Freda Eller Schwarck.
He attended public schools in Staten Island, N.Y.
While living in Staten Island, he was employed as a butcher. He then worked as a butcher at South Mountain Restoration Center in South Mountain, Pa., and various stores. From the late 1960s until his retirement in 1975, he owned and operated Charlie's Deli in Mont Alto.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Navy.
He was a member of Huguenot Lodge 381 A.F.&A.M. in Staten Island, where was a member for more than 50 years, and was a master in 1962. He also was a member of Tall Cedars of Lebanon in Staten Island, Joe Stickell American Legion Post 15 and Eagles Club Inc., both of Waynesboro, and AARP. He was past commander of Staten Island Post 6 Masonic War Veterans.
He is survived by his wife, Rose K. Szasz Schwarck, whom he married May 31, 1947; a daughter, Lois R. Hershberger of Waynesboro; a son, Charles R. Schwarck Jr. of Frankfurt, Germany; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
Services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. Pastor Robert L. Bason will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery in Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m., where a masonic memorial service will be conducted at 8 p.m. by Acacia Lodge 586 A.F.&A.M., Waynesboro.
