Robert E. Werteen
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Robert E. Werteen, 78, of 658 Cumberland Ave., and formerly of Gary, Ind., Indianapolis, Neehah, Wis., and Leesburg, Fla., died Friday, March 6, 1998, at West Volusia Hospital, Deland, Fla.
Born May 18, 1919, in Galesburg, Ill., he was the son of the late Evan J. and Sarah Nason Werteen.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lila J. Lotko Werteen, in 1994.
He was a graduate of Ray Vogue School of Commercial Art in Chicago.
He was employed by American Can for 31 years as a supervisor of graphic arts. He was retired.
He was a veteran of World War II and served with the U.S. Army. He served as a staff sergeant in aerial gunnery in the Pacific Theater.
He was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Chambersburg.
He was a life member of Charles M. Nitterhouse VFW Post 1599, Chambersburg, and member of AARP.
He is survived by two daughters, Juliee Lasack of Broomall, Pa., and Cheryl Shoemaker of Chambersburg; two sons, Michael Werteen of Allentown, Pa., and John Werteen of DuBois, Pa.; three sisters, Charlotte Macaluso, Bette Glueck and Marge Joder, all of Naples, Fla.; and 10 grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 320 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg. Monsignor Thomas R. Brenner will be celebrant. Private burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Pa. Military graveside services will be conducted by Charles M. Nitterhouse VFW Post 1599.
Visitation will be at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, Wednesday from 10 to 10:45 a.m.

Wilton A. Fetterhoff
GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Wilton A. "Wimpy" Fetterhoff, 64, of 37 Edward Drive, died Sunday, March 8, 1998, at Waynesboro (Pa.) Hospital.
Born Aug. 26, 1933, in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late Arthur H. and Ethel M. Frank Fetterhoff.
He retired in 1997 after 26 years of employment with Waynesboro Area School District, where he worked in the maintenance department. He also had worked 16 years at Beck's Nipple Works, Greencastle.
He was a member of Grace United Church of Christ, Greencastle.
He was a life member of Rescue Hose Co. 1 of Greencastle; member of Cumberland Valley Volunteer Fireman's Association; social member of Harry D. Zeigler VFW of Greencastle; and member of Greencastle Sportsman's Association.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Joanna E. Stine Fetterhoff; one aunt; one uncle; and cousins.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Darrius A. Fetterhoff.
Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle. The Rev. Donald L. McBride will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Greencastle.
There will be no viewing; however, the family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday one hour prior to the service.

Matthew L. Deutsch
ORRSTOWN, Pa. - Matthew Levi Deutsch, 31, of Orrstown, died Friday, March 6, 1998, as a result of an automobile accident.
Born Sept. 3, 1966, in Carlisle, Pa., he was the son of Rita Deutsch of Carlisle and the late Barry Deutsch.
He was a 1985 graduate of Littlestown High School.
He was a driver sales representative for Conway Central Express.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Heather O. Deutsch; one son, Jesse Lee Deutsch of Idar-Oberstein, Germany; one sister, Jennifer Deutsch of Dayton, Ohio; and one brother, Jesse N. Deutsch of Carlisle.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Messiah United Methodist Church, 30 S. Penn St., Shippensburg, Pa.

Anna S. Lehman
WILLOW STREET, Pa. - Anna S. Lehman, 84, of West Willow Rest Home, died Monday, March 9, 1998, at the home.
Born Oct. 15, 1913, in St. Thomas Township, Franklin County, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Jacob E. and Salome Ebersole Lehman.
She was employed by H.J. Heinz Co. and Stanley Co., both in Chambersburg, Pa., for many years.
She was a member of Culbertson Mennonite Church, Chambersburg.
She is survived by two brothers, John J. Lehman of Menno Haven, Chambersburg, and Virgil Lehman of Fayetteville, Pa.; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by five sisters and five brothers.
Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Culbertson Mennonite Church, 5730 Sunset Pike, Chambersburg. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be at the church today from 6 to 9 p.m.

Charles A. Kuhn
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Charles A. Kuhn, 68, of 2536 Black Gap Road, died Monday, March 9, 1998, at University Hospital, Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, Pa.
Born May 22, 1929, in Possum Hollow, Franklin County, Pa., he was the son of the late Charles A. Kuhn Sr. and Nettie Glessner Kuhn.
He was a 1946 graduate of Shippensburg High School, Shippensburg, Pa.
He was employed by SKF Industries in Shippensburg in the tool and die department for 43 years and retired in 1991.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was a member of Mount Rock Brethren in Christ Church, Shippensburg. He was a member of Servants of Christ Sunday School Class.
He was a member and president of Chambersburg Mall Walkers Club, Chambersburg; Falling Spring Chapter 2840 AARP, Chambersburg; and Retirees Club of SKF Industries, Shippensburg.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Cook Kuhn, whom he married on June 26, 1952; four daughters, Lois J. Haverstock, Susan K. Henry and Diane M. Bradford, all of Chambersburg, and Linda L. Grove of Shippensburg; five sisters, Edna Paxton of Chambersburg, Clara Hertzler of Carlisle, Pa., Blanche Durff and June Minor, both of Shippensburg, and Esther Gutshall of Fayetteville, Pa.; one brother, I. Russell Kuhn of Shippensburg; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Mount Rock Brethren in Christ Church, 22 Mount Rock Road, Shippensburg. The Rev. Ronald L. Cook, the Rev. Lloyd T. Zimmerman and the Rev. Robert G. Murr will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Chambersburg.

Denver S. Mellott
McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - Denver S. Mellott, 75, of 120 W. Wood St., died Monday, March 9, 1998, at Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital.
Born April 21, 1922, in Fulton County, Pa., he was the son of the late Joseph M. and Elizabeth Eader Mellott.
He worked for PennDOT as a truck driver, until his retirement in 1985.
He was a member of Cito United Methodist Church.
He was a member of McConnellsburg Sewage Authority for 20 years.
He is survived by his wife, Lena L. Black Mellott; five daughters, Linda L. Adams of Manassas, Va., Joyce M. Cover of McConnellsburg, Sally C. Janick of Lawerenceville, Ga., Judy A. Turpin of Greensboro, N.C., and Diane K. Shimer of Severn, Md.; four sons, Joseph D. Mellott of McConnellsburg, Michael J. Mellott of Leadville, Colo., Marshall "Mick" H. Mellott of Gardiner, Mont., and Steven A. Mellott of Bozeman, Mont.; two sisters, Katie Smith and Mary Ellen Morton, both of McConnellsburg; 21 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Virginia Mellott, Ardella Raker, and Helen Secrist; and two brothers, Marshall Mellott and Homer Mellott.
Memorial services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Cito United Methodist Church. The Rev. Donald Bard will officiate.
The family will receive friends Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church.

M. Elizabeth Reeder
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - M. Elizabeth Reeder, 95, a resident of Menno Haven, and formerly of California, died Tuesday, March 10, 1998, at Menno-Haven.
Born June 23, 1902, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Etta Fowler Lindner.
Her husband, Thomas E.H. Reeder, died in 1965.
She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Chambersburg.
She is survived by one nephew, Charles B. Lindner of Chambersburg; a great-niece, great-nephew and a cousin.
A private graveside service will be held at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Chambersburg. The Rev. Paul B. Baker will officiate.
There will be no viewing.

Carl L. Noll
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Carl Lee Noll, 56, of 337 S. Church St., died Monday, March 9, 1998, at Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, Pa.
Born April 16, 1941, in Waynesboro, he was the son of Carl W. Noll and the late Miriam Catherine King Noll.
He attended Waynesboro School District schools.
He was employed as a supervisor at Waynesboro Knitting Mill in Waynesboro for more than 23 years, leaving in 1982. He worked at Quebecor Printing in Fairfield, Pa., from 1984 until the present.
He was of the Protestant faith.
In addition to his Father, he is survived by his wife, Fay M. Gates Noll, whom he married Jan. 11, 1964; one daughter, Denise L. Noll, at home; and aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services will be held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. Pastor Walter A. Stuart will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
