ANTHONY G. ZANNETTI
Anthony G. Zannetti, 70, of Windsor, Conn., beloved husband of June (Miller) Zannetti, died Wednesday, June 28, 2000, at Hartford (Conn.) Hospital. Born in Derry, Feb. 8, 1930, a son of the late Fernando and Santa Zannetti. He graduated from Derry Borough High School in 1948 and lived in Latrobe for 45 years, moving to Windsor eight months ago. Anthony served in the U.S. Air Force during the
Korean War. Before retiring in 1984, he was employed for 36 years as a quality control supervisor at Vulcan Inc. in Latrobe. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, the Latrobe Lodge of Elks B.P.O.E., Derry American Legion Post, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Latrobe. Besides his wife, he leaves a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Annie Zannetti of Glen Allen, Va.; three daughters and sons -in-law, Michelle and Leslie Marsh of Northridge, Calif., Amy and Han's Groschel of Windsor, Conn., and Carol and Rory Peters of Manchester, Conn.; two grandchildren, Sylvia Zannetti and Joshua Groschel; two brothers and sisters -in-law, Robert and Phyllis Zannetti of Orwell, Ohio, and J. Eugene and Mary Zannetti of Hanover, Pa.; and special caregivers, Gloria and Dan Jordan and Abby Collins. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters , Rosalie Smith and Ida Cromling; and a brother, Raymond Zannetti. Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 2, at 10 a.m. at the Connecticut Valley Seventh Day Adventist Church, 354 Foster Road, South Windsor, with the Rev. David Dennis officiating. Burial will be in Windsor Veterans Memorial Cemetery with military honors. His family will receive friends Saturday 5 to 8 p.m. at the CARMON WINDSOR FUNERAL HOME, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor, Conn. Mary (Krescanko) Bartos, of White hall, on Tuesday, June 27, 2000. She was a member of the Christian Mothers of St. Helen Church of Holy Cross Parish. Wife of the late Stephen Bartos; mother of Sylvia and Craig Mulvihill of White hall, Joann Bartos of Blairsville, the late Clement Bartos and the late infant daughter, Margaret; grandmother of Stephen and Donna Bartos, David and Mary Bartos, Gretchen, Charles and Susan Bartos; and great-grandmother of David and Charles. Julius G. "The Milkman" Basista, 72, of Herminie (Keystone), died Tuesday, June 27, 2000, at the Integrated Health Services at Mountain View, Unity Township. He was born Aug. 23, 1927, in Duquesne, a son of the late John and Margaret Basista. Prior to his retirement, Julius was employed by the former Menzie Dairy, McKeesport, as a driver and delivery man. Julius was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of St. Edward Roman Catholic Church, Herminie, and the Teamsters Local #205, White Oak. Mr. Basista, "Julius," is survived by a son, John Basista of Pittsburgh; two daughters , Barbara Basista of Irwin RD1 and Debbie Basista; a brother, Frank J. Basista of Whitsett; a sister, Margaret Pavlik of Greenock; and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends received at the JOSEPH W. Chester F. Brighenti, 90, of Latrobe, died Wednesday, June 28, 2000, in Oak Hill Nursing Center, Greensburg. Born Jan. 24, 1910, in Canonsburg, he was the son of the late Marco and Elide Ferrari Brighenti. A member of Holy Family Church, Latrobe, he retired from Latrobe Construction Company and U.M.W. He was also founder and former owner of The Pond Restaurant in Latrobe, and a member of B.P.O.E. #907, Latrobe, and Local 66, Operating Engineers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Denise Brighenti; a grandson, Scott A. Brighenti; and two sisters , Lillian Marziale and Wilma Malinowski. He is survived by his wife, Virginia L. Donelli Brighenti; two sons , Chester M. Brighenti and his wife, Joyce, of Latrobe and Robert B. Brighenti and his wife, Ginny, of Latrobe; three sisters , Yole Miceli, Marie Orwasky, and Lorraine Palma and her husband, Dom, all of Weirton, W.Va.; four grandchildren, Mark Brighenti, Beth Holtzer, Suzy Smith and her husband, Scott, and Sheri Vadas and her husband, Joe; and six great-grandchildren, Erica and Jamie Brighenti, Emily Smith, Katie Holtzer and Jared and Michael Vadas. Robert D. Cain, 69, of Library, on Tuesday, June 27, 2000. Beloved husband of Veronica E. Gregory T. Grace, 83, of Panorama City, Calif., formerly of Youngwood, died Tuesday, June 27, 2000, in California. Preceded in death by his wife, Fern Costello Grace; and a sister, Mary Stroker. JAMES E. HOLDEN
James E. Holden, 76, of Latrobe, died Wednesday, June 28, 2000, in the Westmoreland Manor, Hempfield Township. He was born Sept. 16, 1923, in Latrobe, a son of the late Charles R. and Ada (Henry) Holden. Prior to his retirement, James was employed by the Latrobe Steel Co. having 34 years of service and had also been employed by the former Hoyman Tire Service in Latrobe. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean conflict, having served as a B-17 Gunner with the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was a member of the First Church of God in Latrobe and enjoyed antique automobiles. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jimmie Raye (Dasinger) Holden; three children, Thomas R. Holden of St. Mary's Ville, Ohio, Lynn E. Holden and wife, Debbie, of Latrobe, and Jeffrey R. Holden and wife, Lynnette, of North Huntingdon; four grandchildren, Eric "Charlie," Holli, Michael, and Lindsey Holden; a stepgrandson, Brandon Messick; two brothers , William F. Holden and wife, Dorothy, of Latrobe RD5 and C. Robert Holden and wife, Erma, of Port Charlotte, Fla.; and a number of nieces and nephews. Robert W. Johnson, 55, of Latrobe, died Wednesday, June 28, 2000, in Latrobe Area Hospital. Born April 18, 1945, in Latrobe, he was a son of the late William and Helen M. Miller Johnson. He was employed by Norton Pakco Industrial Ceramics and was a member of Latrobe United Methodist Church. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of the Kingston Veterans and Sportsmen's Club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Wise; and a sister, Catherine M. Palmer. He is survived by three sisters , Margaret Geisel of Bennettsville, S.C., Helen Loring of Simi Valley, Calif., and Sandra Jones of Monroeville; several nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews. Joseph A. Marhefka, 79, of Fourth Avenue, Scottdale, died Wednesday morning, June 28, 2000, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg, following an extended illness. Margaret Fern Gratzinger Mulertt, 80, of Rutherford, N.J., formerly of Mt. Pleasant, died Wednesday, June 28, 2000, in the Hackensack University Medical Center, New Jersey. She was born March 7, 1920, in East Huntingdon Township, a daughter of the late George C. and Ora Jeannette Stouffer Gratzinger. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Mulertt, in 1994; four brothers , George R., Edwin Ross, James H., and Ronald H. Gratzinger; and two sisters , Carolyn Gratzinger and Louise Lawrence. She is survived by three brothers , William C. Gratzinger of Lehigh Acres, Fla., Richard E. Gratzinger of Pasadena, Calif., and Donald G. Gratzinger of Mt. Mary Hashier Musingo, 95, of Southwest Greensburg, died Tuesday, June 27, 2000, in the Greensburg Nursing and Convalescent Center, Hempfield Township. She was born Nov. 28, 1904, in Moorewood, Pa., a daughter of the late Frank and Mary Strama Hashier. She was a member of the Church of St. Paul, Greensburg, and the Rosary Altar Society of the church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony G. Musingo, in 1973; by a son, Edward A. Musingo, in 1987; a daughter-in-law, Judy Musingo, in 1996; a brother, Frank Hashier; and two sisters , Nellie Malick and Rose Saglime. She is survived by a daughter, Rosemarie and her husband, Joseph Shoplik, of Southwest Greensburg; two sons , Thomas Musingo of Blossburg, Pa., and Albert and his wife, Frances Musingo, of Pomona, Calif.; a daughter-in-law, Jane D. Helen C. Orange, 73, of Jeannette, died Tuesday, June 27, 2000, in the Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh. She was born Nov. 5, 1926, in Jeannette, a daughter of the late Paul and Sally Prugar Bonar. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by the former Jeannette Glass Co., a member of the St. Demetrius Catholic Church of Jeannette and the church's St. Mary's Sodality. Helen was also a pierogi maker for the church. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a granddaughter, Crystal Pedings; and three sisters , Elizabeth Kinser, Josephine Kruse and Pauline Deithorn.
