Thomas D. Miller

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Thomas D. Miller, 66, of Chambersburg, died Friday, Jan. 23, 1998, at Franklin County Nursing Home, Guilford Township, Pa.

Born Feb. 9, 1931, in the Bronx, N.Y., he was the son of the late Alonzo R. and Anna Darcy Miller.

He was employed for 47 years by Lilco in Long Island, N.Y., as a utility supervisor. He retired in 1993.

He is survived by his wife, Priscilla J. Allen Miller; two  daughters, Patricia A. Furst of Griswold, Conn., and Priscilla J. Kaufmann of Chambersburg; one son, Thomas H. Miller of West Babylon, N.Y.; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, James Miller.

Services were Sunday, Jan. 25, at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Daniel F. Lawler officiated. Burial was in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Franklin County Unit, 452 E. King St., Chambersburg, Pa. 17201.

Dortha V. Summers

EVERETT, Pa. - Dortha V. Summers, 75, of Penn Knoll Village Nursing Home, and formerly of RD 3, Waterfall, Pa., died Friday, Jan. 23, 1998, at the nursing home.

Born Sept. 20, 1922, in Knobsville, Fulton County, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Alvin D. and Nettie Naugle Kerlin.

She was a homemaker.

She was of the Protestant faith.

She is survived by her husband, Milford Ray Summers of the Veterans Home, Hollidaysburg, Pa., whom she married on Jan. 6, 1942; one son, George E. Summers of Mill Creek, Pa.; one brother, Clyde D. Kerlin of Knobsville; three grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Mabel Williams; and three brothers, Alvin Kerlin, Merrill Kerlin and Norman Kerlin.

Services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at M.R. Brown Funeral Home, Hustontown, Pa. The Rev. Kenneth Cornelius will officiate. Burial will be in Hustontown Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.

Eugene T. Spadaccino

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Eugene T. Spadaccino, 54, of Chambersburg, died Sunday, Jan. 25, 1998, at Chambersburg Hospital.

Born Jan. 5, 1944, in Bristol, Pa., he was the son of Eugene S. and Lenora Princevalli Spadaccino of Bristol.

He retired from the Pennsylvania State Police with the rank of corporal in 1995 after 28 years, most served at the Chambersburg barracks.

A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, he served during the Vietnam War.

He was a member of Corpus Christi Church, Chambersburg, and Marian Cenacle Prayer Group.

He was a life member of Charles M. Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW, Chambersburg; member of American Association of State Troopers; Fraternal Order of Police; BPO Elks Lodge 600, Chambersburg; Landis-McCleaf Detachment Marine Corps League, Chambersburg; Hume-McNeil-Byers AMVETS Post 224, Chambersburg; and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 842, Chambersburg.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, M. June Barnes Spadaccino, whom he married on Aug. 31, 1968; two sons, James O. Spadaccino of Chambersburg and Joseph E. Spadaccino of New Cumberland, Pa.; one sister, Jean Wilding of Las Vegas; and two brothers, Almerindo Spadaccino of Bristol and Louis Spadaccino of Edgewater Park, N.J.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10:45 a.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 320 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg. The Rev. Daniel F. Lawler will be celebrant. Private burial will be at a later date.

The Marian Cenacle Prayer Group will recite the rosary Thursday at 10:45 a.m. in the church vestibule.

Following the mass, members of the Pennsylvania State Police Ceremonial Honor Guard will conduct a service at the front of the church.

The family will receive friends following the service at Orchard's Restaurant, 1580 Orchard Drive, Chambersburg, where a buffet luncheon will be served.

The family requests the omission of flowers. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 452 E. King St., Chambersburg, Pa. 17201; or Corpus Christi Church, 320 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, Pa. 17201.

Arrangements are by Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg.

Otis Wilson

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Otis Wilson, 90, of 2024 Lehman Road, died Monday, Jan. 26, 1998, at Shook Home, Chambersburg.

Born March 24, 1907, in Three Springs, Pa., he was the son of the late Porter B. and Olive Brown Wilson.

He was employed for 36 years as an operator with the former E.D. Plummer and sons Construction in Chambersburg, retiring in 1972.

He attended Walnut Grove Church of God, Walnut Grove, Pa.

He is survived by his wife, Irene F. Boyer Wilson; two  daughters, Dorothy Grissinger of Mapleton Depot, Pa., and Betty McMaster of Chambersburg; five sons, Donald O. Wilson of St. Thomas, Pa., Chester L. Wilson of Fort Loudon, Pa., Kenneth C. Wilson of Fayetteville, Pa., James R. Wilson and Ronald R. Wilson, both of Chambersburg; six sisters, Minola Boyer and Margretta Leedy, both of Chambersburg, Freda Cohenour and Esther Grissinger, both of Three Springs, Pa., Bessie Bennett of Edenville, Pa., and Betty Fisher of York Haven, Pa.; 18 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Shirley M. Wilson; three sisters and two brothers.

Services will be Thursday at 11:30 a.m. in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. Chaplain Theodore Hughes will officiate. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Walnut Grove.

Visitation will be at the funeral home Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Isabel R. McKean

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Isabel R. Belle McKean, 88, of 901 Summit Ave., died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 1998, at Waynesboro Hospital.

Born Sept. 22, 1909, in Chambersburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Truman John and Carrie Elizabeth Tarner Kirkpatrick.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur B. McKean, on Sept. 18, 1982. They were married July, 30, 1930.

She is a 1928 graduate of Waynesboro Area Senior High School.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Waynesboro.

She was also a member of Waynesboro Country Club, Waynesboro Hospital Auxiliary, Antietam Humane Society in Waynesboro, BPO Elks Lodge #731 Ladies Auxiliary in Waynesboro, and the National AARP. She belonged to several card clubs in the area and played golf.

She is survived by one son, Wilbur E. Gene McKean of Arlington, Va.; one grandson, Eric E. McKean of Texas; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one son, Richard D. McKean; two sisters, Clara C. Holland and Grace Kirkpatrick; and three brothers, Harold L. Kirkpatrick, Ralph T. Kirkpatrick and Truman C. Kirkpatrick.

Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. The Rev. Jay E. Zimmerman will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.

There will be no public viewing. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Christ United Methodist Church, 6 W. Second St., Waynesboro, Pa. 17268.

Irene M. Schumacher

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Irene M. Schumacher, 80, of Chambersburg, died Monday, Jan. 26, 1998, at the home of her daughter in Greencastle, Pa.

Born Dec. 17, 1917, in Henry, Ill., she was the daughter of the late William and Katherine Hoscheit Daum.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert A. Schumacher, in 1993. They were married May 21, 1938.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Chambersburg.

She is survived by two  daughters, Janet Guarriello of Greencastle and Ellen Kain of Medina, Ohio; three sons, Leon Schumacher of Plano, Texas, Gerald Schumacher of Newton, N.J., and William Schumacher of Wilmington, Del.; one brother, Ralph Daum of Peru, Ill.; 17 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Valentine's Catholic Church, Peru. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Peru.

Visitation will be at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, today from 7 to 9 p.m. and at the church Friday one hour prior to the service. The Rosary will be recited at the funeral home today at 9 p.m.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Franklin County Unit, 452 E. King St., Chambersburg, Pa. 17201.

Harold J. Dice

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Harold J. "Whitey" Dice, 68, of 759 S. Main St., died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 1998, at Chambersburg Hospital.

Born Sept. 20, 1929, in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late Paul M. and Stella M. Shatzer Dice.

He was a farmer. He had been employed by the former Aaron Myers farm in the Greencastle, Pa., area for 10 years. He then was employed on the farm of Roy B. Blesecker in the Waynesboro, Pa., area for 25 years. He retired in 1989. He was employed by Franklin Feed, Chambersburg, from 1989 to 1994.

A U.S. Army veteran, he served during the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Mowen Dice, whom he married on Nov. 21, 1959; one daughter, Karon L. Kiser of Lurgan, Pa.; one sister, Hilda R. Dice of Fayetteville, Pa.; one brother, Paul Dice Jr. of Marion, Pa.; and two grandsons.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and one grandson.

Services will be Friday at 11:30 a.m. in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. John R. Springer will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro, Pa.

Visitation will be at the funeral home Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday one hour prior to the service.

Quentin Lamb

SOUTH MOUNTAIN, Pa. - Quentin Lamb, 79, of 10058 South Mountain Road, died Sunday, Jan. 25, 1998, at South Mountain Restoration Center, South Mountain.

Born Oct. 31, 1918, in Summit, N.J., he was the son of the late John James and Joanna Seacrist Lamb.

He was a butcher in the Haverford, Pa., area.

He was of the Catholic faith.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the auditorium chapel of South Mountain Restoration Center, South Mountain. The Rev. Joseph C. Carolin will be celebrant. Burial will be in St. Andrew's Catholic Church Cemetery, Waynesboro, Pa.

Friends will be received in the auditorium chapel of South Mountain Restoration Center 30 minutes prior to the service Thursday.

Arrangements are by Miller-Grove Funeral Home, Greencastle, Pa.

Otis Wilson

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Services for Otis Wilson, 90, of 2024 Lehman Road, who died Monday, Jan. 26, 1998, will be held Thursday at 11:30 a.m. in the chapel of Thomas L.
