Huber G. Exline
WARFORDSBURG, Pa. - Huber G. "Bick" Exline, 87, of 3948 Adrian Drive, N.E., Warren, Ohio, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 1998, at the home of his nephew, Carl Souders of Warfordsburg.
Born Oct. 12, 1910, in Hancock, he was the son of the late Benjamin Hayes and Emma Hixon Exline.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth E. Souders Exline, in 1997. They were married Aug. 21, 1937.
He retired from MRI Steel Mills in Warren after 37 years.
A veteran of World War II, he served with the U.S. Army in the Infantry Division from 1943 to 1945. He was a german prisoner of war for several months.
He was of the Protestant faith.
He is survived by one sister, Frances B. Deneen of Hagerstown; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by sisters and brothers.
Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Damascus Christian Church, Big Cove Tannery, Pa. The Rev. Loy Garber will officiate. Burial will be in Damascus Cemetery, where military graveside rites will be conducted by Tri-State Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 141 W. Main St., Hancock; and Sunday from 1:30 to 2 p.m. at the church. For the convenience of friends, the funeral home will be open Saturday from noon to 9 p.m.
Edward L. Rosenberry
SCOTLAND, Pa. - Edward L. Rosenberry, 68, of 3662 Main St., died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 1998, at his home.
Born Sept. 6, 1929, in Chambersburg, Pa., he was the son of the late Ralph G. and Ethel M. Dunkle Rosenberry.
He retired in 1991 as owner and operator of the former Rosenberry's Roofing, Chambersburg after 38 years. He then operated Rosy's Custom Frame Shop on Stouffer Avenue in Chambersburg until 1997.
A veteran of the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
He was a member of St. Luke Evangelical Lutheran Church, Chambersburg.
He was a member of George Washington Lodge 143 F & AM, Chambersburg, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Valley Forest 145, Shippensburg, a life member of Charles M. Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW, Chambersburg, a life member of Landis-McCleaf Detachment Marine Corps League, Chambersburg, a life member of Chambersburg Rod and Gun Club, Chambersburg, a life member of National Rifle Association; member of Detrich-Brechbill Post 612 American Legion, St. Thomas, Pa.; and Franklin County Trap League and National Wild Turkey Federation.
He is survived by his wife, Rose E. McClure Rosenberry, whom he married Aug. 5, 1950; one son, Mark L. Rosenberry, at home; one sister, Ruth M. Stevens of Chambersburg; and one brother, Lynden H. Rosenberry of Enterprize, Ala.
Services will be Friday at 11:30 a.m. in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Beth R. Lupolt will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg, with military graveside services conducted by members of Charles M. Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW, Chambersburg.
The viewing will be Friday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Richard C. Twiddy
McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - Richard C. Twiddy, 72, died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 1998, at Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg.
Born May 9, 1925, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Charles Twiddy and Ethel Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Clarke Twiddy, in 1997.
He was of the Protestant faith.
He retired from the Civilian Employee U.S. Coast Yard, Curtis Bay, Md.
He served with the U.S. Army during World War II.
He is survived by one son, Richard C. Twiddy of Sykesville, Md.; one brother, C. Elmer Twiddy of McConnellsburg; and two granddaughters, Regina Twiddy and Laura Twiddy.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Pa. Pastor William Swope will officiate. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, McConnellsburg.
Visitation will be Friday from 9 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Dixie E. Martin
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Dixie Ellis Martin, 85, a former resident of Waynesboro and Chambersburg, Pa., died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 1998, at Sunset Haven Convalescent Hospital, Cherry Valley, Calif.
She was born Oct. 18, 1912, in Logan, W.Va.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nathaniel Martin, in 1968.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Presbyterian Church, Waynesboro.
She was a member of Eastern Star of Charleston Shrine, Charleston, W.Va.
She is survived by one son, Robert Adkins of Redlands, Calif.; four brothers, Fred Ellis of Michigan, Bernie Ellis and Ernie Ellis, both of West Virginia, and Merl Ellis of Florida; one sister, Ersie Stangle of Indiana; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Greencastle, Pa. The Rev. Chuck Jessen will officiate.
Arrangements were by Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Greencastle.
Anna M.E. Mitzel
YORK, Pa. - Anna M. Eckstine Mitzel, 82, of York, died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 1998, at York Hospital.
Born Oct. 21, 1915, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Clarence G. and Mary V. Miller Eckstine.
Her husband, Walter A. Mitzel, preceded her in death.
She worked at W.T. Grant Co. and McCrory's in downtown York for 30 years.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, where she was on the church council, and was chairman of the Altar Guild.
She was a member of Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Salome Rebekah Lodge 30, and Harrisburg Ladies Auxiliary Patriarch's Militant 54.
She is survived by one daughter, Beverly A. Bowers of York; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Walter A. Mitzel Jr.
Services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Workinger-Semmel Funeral Home, 849 E. Market St., York. The Rev. Stanley W. Combs will officiate. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery in York.
A viewing will be held at the funeral home Friday one hour prior to the service.

Myrtle V. Collins
SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Myrtle V. Collins, 74, of 6080 Molly Pitcher Highway North, died Sunday, Feb. 15, 1998, at her daughter's home in Duncannon, Pa.
Born March 14, 1923, in Doylesburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Martin and Jeannetta McLaughlin Yocum.
She was a 1941 graduate of Orbisonia High School.
She was employed as a seamstress for J. Schoeneman in Chambersburg for 32 years, retiring in 1985.
She was a member of King Street United Brethren Church, Chambersburg.
She also was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to American Legion Post 606, Fort Loudon, Pa.; the Ladies Auxiliary to VFW Post 6241, Mercersburg, Pa.; AMVETS Auxiliary Post 224, Chambersburg; and the Chambersburg chapter of AARP.
She is survived by her husband, John J. Collins; two daughters, Stella M. Burgard of Duncannon, and Diana K. Keebaugh of Chambersburg; two granddaughters and one grandson.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Blanche Lillian; and five brothers, Andy Yocum, Morris Yocum, Johnson Yocum, Earnest Yocum and Clarence Yocum.
Services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Patrick B. Jones will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m., and one hour prior to the service on Friday.

Jeannette H. Strand
CARLISLE, Pa. - Jeannette H. Strand, 61, a resident of Thornwald Home, and formerly of 611 Willow St., Chambersburg, Pa., died Friday, Feb. 13, 1998, at Carlisle Hospital.
Born April 25, 1936, in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Carl F. and May R. Mohus Strand.
She was a retired inventory control clerk with Johnson & Johnson Co. in Pinellas Park, Fla.
She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Chambersburg.
She is survived by one sister, Joan N. Vitale of Chambersburg; one niece, one nephew; and one great-niece.
Private services will be at the convenience of the family.
There will be no viewing.

Alice D. Mellott
GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Alice D. Mellott, 75, of 49 S. Carlisle St., died Saturday, Feb. 14, 1998, at her home.
Born Oct. 15, 1922, in Broad Top City, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Forrest and Nora Lavelle Black.
Her husband, Raymond Mellott, died in 1978.
She worked as a cashier at the former Town and Country Store in Hagerstown, and the former Rocky Ridge Supermarket in State Line. She also worked at the former Newberry's in Hagerstown and Baer Packing in Greencastle.
She was of the Protestant faith.
She was a member of Ladies Auxiliary to Rescue Hose Co. 1 in Greencastle, and a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 842 in Chambersburg.
She is survived by one daughter, Barbara Spangler of Waynesboro, Pa.; two sons, Robert Mellott of Hagerstown, and Dick Mellott of Greencastle; four sisters, Glendora Dick of Hesston, Pa., Phyllis Ehrhart of Huntingdon, Pa., Patsy Hoover of Tucson, Ariz., and Grace Thomas of Lancaster, Pa.; three brothers, Allen Black of Lancaster, Omer Black of Saxton, Pa., and Darlee Black of Huntingdon; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Douglas Charles Mellott; and two sisters, Regina Black and Zelda Black.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle. The Rev. Brian Triller will officiate. Burial will be in Broad Top City Cemetery in Broad Top City.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
