Agnes M.B. Grimes
QUINCY, Pa. - Agnes M. Brown Murdorf Grimes, 75, a resident of Quincy United Methodist Home, and of 449 N. Church St., Waynesboro, Pa., died Saturday, Feb. 21, 1998, at the nursing home.
Born Jan. 21, 1923, in Sabillasville, Md., she was the daughter of the late Charles A. and Hilda M. Arnsperberger Brown.
Her first husband, Norman C. Murdorf Sr., died in 1968. They were married Oct. 25, 1958.
Her second husband, John L. Grimes, died in 1993. They were married Aug. 27, 1971.
She was a machine operator at various shoe factories in Waynesboro, Gettysburg, Pa., and Thurmont, Md., and was last employed at Fairfield Shoe Factory.
She attended Glenn Furney Assembly of God Church in Waynesboro.
She is survived by three sons, John F. Henning Jr. and Ashley E. Murdorf, both of Waynesboro, and Norman G. Murdorf of Augusta, W.Va.; one sister, Pearl E. Renner of Ladiesburg, Md.; three brothers, Robert M. Brown and Paul R. Brown, both of Thurmont, Md., and Donald L. Brown of Rocky Ridge, Md.; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles W. Brown and Harold E. Brown.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. The Rev. Neville H. West will officiate. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Cemetery in Thurmont, Md.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.
Jeanne L.R. Barnett
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Jeanne L. Rock Barnett, 72, of 7851 Tomstown Road, died Sunday, Feb. 22, 1998, at Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Pa.
Born Feb. 27, 1925, in Guilford Township, near Pond Bank, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Charles I. and Myrtle I. Dull Rock.
Her husband, John R. Barnett, died in 1983. They were married June 13, 1944.
She attended school in Duffields, W.Va.
She was employed by the Mont Alto campus of Pennsylvania State University in the food service department for 19 years, retiring in 1984.
She was a member of Waynesboro Bible Church and received shut-in tapes from Five Forks Brethren in Christ Church, Waynesboro.
She also was a member of Mont Alto Volunteer Fire Co. Auxiliary and national AARP.
She is survived by two sons, Terry W. Barnett of Waynesboro, and Daniel L. Barnett of Chambersburg, Pa.; one sister, Mary E. West of Springfield, Tenn.; four brothers, John D. Rock of Mont Alto, Glenn W. Rock of Quincy, Pa., Robert E. Rock and Charles I. Rock Jr., both of Waynesboro; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Lois J. Barton; two sisters, Mildred P. True and Cora J. Rock; and three brothers, Elsworth B. Rock, Gerald C. Rock and R. Wayne Rock.
Services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. Pastor Wilbur F. Besecker will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery near Quincy.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. There will be no viewing.

H. Wayne Decker
McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - H. Wayne Decker, 80, of 1060 Myers Ave., died Friday, Feb. 20, 1998, at Fulton County Medical Center in McConnellsburg.
Born Feb. 20, 1918, in Needmore, Pa., he was the son of the late Chester A. and Mary Jane Mellott Decker.
His wife, Georgia C. Decker, died in 1997.
He was a farmer; a school bus contractor for more than 40 years; Fulton County auditor for 37 years; and Licking Creek Township auditor for a number of years.
He was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Needmore, and the church treasurer for 40 years.
He is survived by two daughters, Jean Bauer of Columbia, S.C., and Nancy Pittman of Mercersburg, Pa.; two sons, Arnold L. Decker of St. Thomas, Pa., and Willis L. Decker of Harrisonville, Pa.; four sisters, Edna Bard of Harrisonville, Cleo Fisher of Cleona, Pa., Vera Woodcock of Waynesville, N.C., and Iva Strait of McConnellsburg; one brother, George Wendell Decker of Windber, Pa.; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Needmore. Pastor Charles E. Gummo will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Donald Bard and the Rev. Vernon Bauer.
Visitation will be at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc., Harrisonville, today from 2 to 9 p.m.; and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
Wayne P. Martin
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Wayne P. Martin, 87, a resident of Shook Home in Chambersburg, and formerly of 745 E. Washington St., Chambersburg, died Friday, Feb. 20, 1998, at The Chambersburg Hospital.
Born Aug. 19, 1910, in Shippensburg, Pa., he was the son of the late Crist V. and Jane Sard Parks Martin.
His wife, Helen I. Bender Martin, died in 1996. They were married in 1936.
He was owner and operator of the former Martin's Grocery Store on Washington Street in Chambersburg. After closing the store in 1961, he went on to drive a delivery truck for the former Capitol Bakery in Chambersburg. He then retired as a delivery truck driver from the former Barton's Cookie Jar in Chambersburg.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army.
He was a member of King Street United Brethren Church in Chambersburg, and the Burton's Men Bible Class. He also served as an usher and greeter, and delivered tapes of church services to shut-in church members.
He was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels in Chambersburg.
He is survived by one son, Ted G. Martin of Shippensburg; two sisters, Helen Martin of Shippensburg, and Edna Eyer of Fayetteville, Pa.; one granddaughter; one grandson; and two great-granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
Services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Patrick B. Jones will officiate. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery in Chambersburg.
A viewing will be at the funeral home Tuesday one hour prior to the service.

Roger C. Eckstine
GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Roger C. Eckstine, 82, of 144 Addison Ave., died Sunday, Feb. 22, 1998, at his home.
Born Dec. 12, 1915, in Halfway, he was the son of the late Clifford C. and Blanch Dietrich Eckstine.
He was a retired lifelong farmer.
He was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church in Greencastle, and the Men's Bible Class of the Sunday school.
He was a charter member of Kauffman Ruritan Club in Kauffman, Pa.
He is survived by his wife, Janet M. Shelly Eckstine, whom he married June 3, 1939; two sons, Charles R. Eckstine and Gerald W. Eckstine, both of Greencastle; one sister, Emma Jane Miller of Greencastle; four granddaughters; one grandson; and two great-granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Doris Jean Eckstine; an infant son, Dennis Shelly Eckstine; and four brothers, Paul Eckstine, Ralph Eckstine, Kenneth Eckstine and Charles Eckstine.
Services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Evangelical Lutheran Church, 130 N. Washington St., Greencastle. The Rev. Perry Hanson will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Greencastle.
The family will receive friends at Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m., and at the church 30 minutes prior to the service on Thursday.

Jean E. Fisher
MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Jean E. Fisher, 79, formerly of Fort Loudon, Pa., and who formerly resided with her daughter, Olive A. Harmon at 5675 Oakwood Drive, died Sunday, Feb. 22, 1998, at Shippensburg Health Care Center in Shippensburg, Pa.
Born Dec. 30, 1918, in Waynesboro, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Ethel Whittington Gress.
Her husband, Howard W. Fisher, died in 1987.
She worked as a licensed practical nurse for 26 years at The Chambersburg Hospital in Chambersburg, Pa.
She was a member of Fort Loudon United Methodist Church, where she taught in the nursery department for 35 years. She last attended Clayton Memorial Church of God in Mercersburg.
She enjoyed putting together jigsaw puzzles and watching sports on television.
In addition to her daughter, she is survived by two sons, Arthur L. Fisher of Harrisonville, Pa., and Donald L. Fisher of Fort Loudon; one brother, James Gress of Mercersburg; 16 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Clayton Memorial Church of God. The Rev. Kelly Shope and the Rev. Ronald K. Strader will officiate. Burial will be in Stenger Hill Cemetery in Fort Loudon.
A viewing will be at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home, 47 N. Park Ave., Mercersburg, Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m., and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church.
Lee C. Droneburg
WALKERSVILLE, Pa. - Lee Carroll Droneburg, 53, of Woodsboro Pike, died Saturday, Feb. 21, 1998, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Born June 18, 1944, in Frederick County, Md., he was the son of the late George Hanson Droneburg and Ruth Mae Masser Droneburg.
He retired in 1997 as an operations aide at BioWhittaker Inc. in Walkersville, after 30 years of service.
He was a member of Mount Zion United Methodist Church in Mount Pleasant, Md.
He also was a member of Glen W. Eyler American Legion Post 282 in Woodsboro, Md., and River Bend Boat Club in Falling Waters, W.Va.
He was a past vice president and coach of Glade Valley Athletic Association, and a former coach of the Shookstown Baseball Little League.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Pamela Jean Snoots Droneburg; five children, Kenneth Lee Droneburg of Jefferson, Md., Tammie Lea Watson of Waynesboro, Pa., Jarrett Lee Droneburg of Frederick, Md., Laura Jean Droneburg and Kimberly Jean Droneburg, both at home; three sisters, Mildred Wisner of Frederick, Virginia Smith of Woodsboro, and Grace Altman of Mount Pleasant; two brothers, Paul "Babe" Droneburg of Walkersville, and Roger Droneburg of Frederick; six grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Glen Droneburg and Clyde Droneburg.
Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Edgewood First Church of God, 8204 Edgewood Church Road, Frederick. The Rev. Duanne L. Beck will officiate. Burial will be in Glade Cemetery in Walkersville.
