Gregory T. Grace, 83, of Panorama City, Calif., formerly of Youngwood, died Tuesday, June 27, 2000, in California. Preceded in death by his wife, Fern Costello Grace; and a sister, Mary Stroker. Survived by three sisters , Patricia Rumbaugh, Rita Rowe, and Felicia Corsi. Private services will be held at a later date.
HAZEL R. HAINES
Hazel R. Haines, 79, of Sebring, Fla., died Saturday, June 24, 2000. Born in Middletown, Hempfield Township, the daughter of the late Lewis and Bertha Keener Mensch. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd S. Haines; and three brothers , Lewis J. Mensch, Frank E. Mensch, and Clyde Mensch. She is survived by a nephew, Franklin L. Mensch; and two great-nephews. Private funeral services and burial were held in Sebring, Fla.
JAMES E. HOLDEN
James E. Holden, 76, of Latrobe, died Wednesday, June 28, 2000, in the Westmoreland Manor, Hempfield Township. He was born Sept. 16, 1923, in Latrobe, a son of the late Charles R. and Ada (Henry) Holden. Prior to his retirement, James was employed by the Latrobe Steel Co. having 34 years of service and had also been employed by the former Hoyman Tire Service in Latrobe. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean conflict, having served as a B-17 Gunner with the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was a member of the First Church of God in Latrobe and enjoyed antique automobiles. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jimmie Raye (Dasinger) Holden; three children, Thomas R. Holden of St. Mary's Ville, Ohio, Lynn E. Holden and wife, Debbie, of Latrobe, and Jeffrey R. Holden and wife, Lynnette, of North Huntingdon; four grandchildren, Eric "Charlie," Holli, Michael, and Lindsey Holden; a stepgrandson, Brandon Messick; two brothers , William F. Holden and wife, Dorothy, of Latrobe RD5 and C. Robert Holden and wife, Erma, of Port Charlotte, Fla.; and a number of nieces and nephews. ROBERT W. JOHNSON
Robert W. Johnson, 55, of Latrobe, died Wednesday, June 28, 2000, in Latrobe Area Hospital. Born April 18, 1945, in Latrobe, he was a son of the late William and Helen M. Miller Johnson. He was employed by Norton Pakco Industrial Ceramics and was a member of Latrobe United Methodist Church. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of the Kingston Veterans and Sportsmen's Club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Wise; and a sister, Catherine M. Palmer. He is survived by three sisters , Margaret Geisel of Bennettsville, S.C., Helen Loring of Simi Valley, Calif., and Sandra Jones of Monroeville; several nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews. Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe, where services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Aimee W. HELEN KAMINSKY
Helen Kaminsky, of McKeesport, passed away Monday, June 26, 2000, at St. Anne Home, Greensburg. She is survived by her husband, Edward Kaminsky; a daughter, Mary J. Steinmetz of North Huntingdon Township; two sons , Edward M. Kaminsky of Mechanicsburg and Daniel B. Kaminsky of Lancaster; two sisters , Ann Ciul of Smiths Creek, Mich., and Martha Vojtek of Port Huron, Mich.; and five grandchildren. She was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church in McKeesport. Friends are being received in the WILLIAM H. CRAIG FUNERAL HOME, 3000 Versailles Ave., McKeesport, Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A 2:15 p.m. Panahata service will be held Thursday, followed Friday by a 9:30 a.m. memorial service in the funeral home and a 10 a.m. Office of Christian Burial in St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, McKeesport. Anthony Lawlor, 70, of Haddonfield, N.J., died Monday, June 26, 2000. Born March 24, 1930, in Los Angeles, Calif., a son of the late Louis and Dorothy Head Lawlor. He is survived by his cousin, Rose Marie Sassen Shea of Hartford, Conn. A Funeral Mass was celebrated Wednesday at Christ the King Catholic Church in Haddonfield, N.J. ELIZABETH D. YONEK LEVENDOSKY
Elizabeth D. Yonek Levendosky, 74, of Youngwood, died Tuesday, June 27, 2000, at Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. She was born Sept. 17, 1925, in Weltytown, Pa., a daughter of the late John Joseph and Mary Yanek Yonek. Elizabeth was retired from Millstein Industries in Youngwood. She was a member of Holy Cross Church and worked part time at the Youngwood Park & Pool. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward "Pete" Levendosky, on Dec. 14, 1992. She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Donna Breckenridge; son, Edward W. Levendosky and wife, Joyce; and a daughter, Mrs. Lou (Karen) Bompiani, all of Youngwood; five grandchildren, Mrs. Cris (Dawn) Bee, Scott Gramlich, Christopher Levendosky and wife, Heather, Edward J. Levendosky and Jonathan Bompiani; two great-grandchildren, John Gramlich and Scott Williammee; two sisters , Mrs. William (Ann) Repko of Latrobe and Mrs. Eleanor Rodgers of Mt. Pleasant; and a brother, John Yonek and wife, Sharon, of Elizabeth City, N.C. Friends will be received at the C. F. WAYNE LONG
F. Wayne Long, 82, of New Kensington, died Monday, June 26, 2000, in Citizens General Hospital, New Kensington. Born July 28, 1917, in Greensburg, he was a 1935 graduate of Greensburg High School. He had been a resident of New Kensington since 1937. He retired in 1976 as a cable foreman from Bell of Pennsylvania , New Kensington, having been employed there for 39 years. Mr. Long was a member and Past Master of Bethel Lodge Free and Accepted Masons of Lower Burrell, the Coudersport Consistory, Syria Temple of Harmarville of which he was a Past Deputy, Allegheny Valley Caravan of Syria Temple, Lower Burrell Elks, and the American Association of Retired Persons in New Kensington. A ham radio operator with the call letters, K C 3 Z U, he was a member of the Skyview Radio Society. He was also a certified scuba diver, and a licensed private pilot. He enjoyed playing the organ. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Mary L. Chesney Long; two daughters , Eileen Long of Prescott, Wis., and Mrs. Robert (Marilyn) Lasher of West Deer; two granddaughters; and a sister, Vivian Garrett of Hillsville, Va. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Noble and Ruth Taylor Long; and a brother, Russell Dean Long. Private visitation and services were held Wednesday in the ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., a family owned and operated funeral home, 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington. Private burial was made in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Greensburg. JOSEPH A. MARHEFKA
Joseph A. Marhefka, 79, of Fourth Avenue, Scottdale, died Wednesday morning, June 28, 2000, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg, following an extended illness. He was born March 19, 1921, in Everson, a son of the late Andrew J. and Mary P. Dulin Marhefka. Joe was a life member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic church, Scottdale, and of the community. He was employed as an expediter for U.S. Steel, Irvin Works, with 39 years of service. He had been previously employed by Christy Park with eight years of service. Joe was a veteran of the armed forces serving with the U.S. Army, 258th Engineer Combat Battalion in Germany/France during World War II, attaining the rank of staff sergeant. He was the recipient of the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He was involved in the Battles of Central Europe and Rhineland. Joe was a member of Jednota Slovak Lodge, Connellsville, and Hecla Sportsmen's Club and the Scottdale VFW Post. Joe leaves to cherish his memories, his loving and devoted wife, Helen Mae Blackburn Marhefka, with whom he celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on March 3, 2000; six children, Joseph F. Marhefka and his wife, Judy (Detwiler), of Mt. Pleasant, Robert A. Marhefka of Scottdale, Thomas A. Marhefka and his wife, Marcy (Stoner), of Mt. Pleasant, Carolyn J. Raygor and her husband, Robert, of Scottdale, Nancy M. Miedel and her husband, William, of Alverton, and Michelle M. Warburton and her husband, David, of Mt. Pleasant; 11 grandchildren, Daniel Marhefka, Lesley Marhefka, Kristen Marhefka, Jill Raygor, Sara Marhefka, Jenna Raygor, Katelyn Marhefka, Julie Raygor, Adam Warburton, Chad Miedel, and Brandi Warburton; a great-granddaughter, Madison Giacomelli; and the following brothers and sisters : Louise H. Martin of California, Frank L. Marhefka of Scottdale, Christina A. Ferrari of Youngwood, Albert J. Marhefka of Scottdale, Cecelia C. Decker and her husband, Charles, of Greensburg, Mildred M. Marhefka of Scottdale, and Pauline G. Marhefka of Scottdale. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers in infancy, Bernard and Andrew Marhefka; and his mother -in-law, Margaret V. Kapr Blackburn, who died May 5, 1999. Margaret Fern Gratzinger Mulertt, 80, of Rutherford, N.J., formerly of Mt. Pleasant, died Wednesday, June 28, 2000, in the Hackensack University Medical Center, New Jersey. She was born March 7, 1920, in East Huntingdon Township, a daughter of the late George C. and Ora Jeannette Stouffer Gratzinger. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Mulertt, in 1994; four brothers , George R., Edwin Ross, James H., and Ronald H. Gratzinger; and two sisters , Carolyn Gratzinger and Louise Lawrence. She is survived by three brothers , William C. Gratzinger of Lehigh Acres, Fla., Richard E. Gratzinger of Pasadena, Calif., and Donald G. Gratzinger of Mt. Pleasant RD3; and four sisters , Ruth Hyde and husband, Stuart, of Palm Harbor, Fla., Helen Bedner and husband, Edward, of Richmond, Ohio, Nancy Monticue and husband, Ray, of Stahlstown, and Betty Lenhart and husband, Paul, of Latrobe. Mary Hashier Musingo, 95, of Southwest Greensburg, died Tuesday, June 27, 2000, in the Greensburg Nursing and Convalescent Center, Hempfield Township. She was born Nov. 28, 1904, in Moorewood, Pa., a daughter of the late Frank and Mary Strama Hashier. She was a member of the Church of St. Paul, Greensburg, and the Rosary Altar Society of the church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony G. Musingo, in 1973; by a son, Edward A. Musingo, in 1987; a daughter-in-law, Judy Musingo, in 1996; a brother, Frank Hashier; and two sisters , Nellie Malick and Rose Saglime. She is survived by a daughter, Rosemarie and her husband, Joseph Shoplik, of Southwest Greensburg; two sons , Thomas Musingo of Blossburg, Pa., and Albert and his wife, Frances Musingo, of Pomona, Calif.; a daughter-in-law, Jane D. Musingo of Greensburg; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters -in-law, Rose Condo and Mary Musingo, both of Greensburg; and several nieces and nephews. Helen C. Orange, 73, of Jeannette, died Tuesday, June 27, 2000, in the Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh. She was born Nov. 5, 1926, in Jeannette, a daughter of the late Paul and Sally Prugar Bonar. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by the former Jeannette Glass Co., a member of the St. Demetrius Catholic Church of Jeannette and the church's St. Mary's Sodality. Helen was also a pierogi maker for the church. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a granddaughter, Crystal Pedings; and three sisters , Elizabeth Kinser, Josephine Kruse and Pauline Deithorn. She is survived by her husband, Wesley Orange; two daughters , Joyce Koreen and husband, Harry, of North Huntingdon and Deborah Clark and husband, Tim, of Rector; three sons , Wesley M. Orange and wife, Phyllis, of New Alexandria, John Orange and wife, Sherry, of Jeannette, and Mark Orange and wife, Susan, of Greensburg; a sister, Agnes Marsolo and husband, David, of Jeannette; six grandchildren, Michael Koreen and wife, Brenda, Tim Orange and wife, Amy, Kelly Koreen, John Orange Jr., Shelly and Lara Orange; and numerous nieces and nephews.
