HELEN M. CAMPBELL
Helen M. Campbell, 86, formerly of Jeannette, more recently a resident of Redstone Highlands, Greensburg, died Saturday, June 24, 2000, at Redstone. She was born in Wilkinsburg, March 16, 1914, a daughter of the late Frank E. and Florence L. Ryan Hulme. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Jeannette, where she was formerly an active member of the choir, and was an elder and deacon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John M. Campbell, in 1978; and two brothers , Richard M. and Frank E. Hulme. She is survived by a son, Dr. Arthur John Campbell and his wife, Judith, of Chandler, Ariz.; a daughter, Joye Love and her husband, John, of Sutherland Road, Jeannette; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends in the sanctuary of the First Presbyterian Church, Thursday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., after which time services will be conducted with her pastor, the Rev. D. Hunt, officiating. Interment will follow in Jeannette Memorial Park, Penn Township. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the First Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund. DORIS A. OVERLY COLE
Doris A. Overly Cole, 75, of Hunker RD1, passed away early Monday morning, June 26, 2000, in Westmoreland Manor, Hempfield Township. Doris was born Jan. 6, 1925, in Foxtown, Hempfield Township, a daughter of the late William C. and Minnie Goswick Overly. She married William J. Cole on Dec. 18, 1948. Doris was a caring and devoted wife, mother , grandmother and sister to her family and was noted for braiding beautiful handmade rugs. She was a member of the Armbrust Wesleyan Church and the Ladies Joy Fellowship Class. She also assisted during the annual church bible school. Years ago, she was employed at the former Robertshaw Controls Division in Youngwood and the former Imperial Lighting Co. in Greensburg. Doris is survived by her loving family: her husband of 51 years, William J. Cole; three children, James William Cole and wife, Becky Jo, of Hunker RD1, Beverly Bea Holsopple and husband, Gary, of Cambridge, Vt., and William Allen Cole and wife, Carol, of Greensburg; six grandchildren, Michael Cole, Jeffrey Holsopple, David Cole, Ross Holsopple, Brian Cole and Jason Cole; three great-grandchildren, Joshua Welling, Kristyn Holsopple and Sean Cole; two sisters , Helen Shuster and husband, Ray, and Elva Blackburn and husband, Kenneth, all of Alverton; a brother, Donald Overly and wife, Carol, of Grapevine, Texas ; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters , Hilda and Lillian Achtziger; and two brothers , William and Charles Overly. Family and friends will be received at the ROBERT B. VELVA R. FAIR LOWE
Velva R. Fair Lowe, 57, of Tarrs, died Monday, June 26, 2000, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. She was born Nov. 24, 1942, in Mt. Pleasant, a daughter of Velva R. Gradwohl Lesight of Tarrs and the late George F. Lesight. She was a licensed practical nurse, having worked in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg, and Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. She was a member of the Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church of Tarrs. Velva attended W.C.C.C., where she attained the dean's list. In addition to her mother , she is survived by her husband, Merle J. Lowe of Tarrs; loving children, Elizabeth Ann Fair Newcomer and her husband, Clyde W. III, of Mt. Sterling, Ky., and George M. Fair and his wife, Michele L., of Pittsburgh; a stepson, Merle J. Lowe and his wife, Bonnie R., of Greensburg; a stepdaughter, Crystal L. Malone and her husband, Robert D., of Mendon; three grandchildren, Larry Burkhart, Clyde W. Newcomer IV and Rebecca Ann Newcomer; and four stepgrandchildren, Stephanie Lowe, Angela Lowe, Kayla Malone and Randall Malone. Herbert Charles McWilliams, 90, of Pitcairn, formerly of Monroeville, peacefully on Sunday, June 25, 2000. Son of the late Herbert H. and Della Monica (Conville) McWilliams. Husband of the late Margaret E. Miller for 63 years, and the late Elva Keeler for 4 ½ years. Survived by four loving children, Herbert H. McWilliams and his wife, Jean, of Monroeville, Naomi "Nancy" Hardy and her husband, Larry, of Plum, Carol J. McDevitt and her husband, Bill, of Monroeville, and Joanne Toomey (Butch) of North Braddock. Also survived by 12 loving grandchildren; 24 loving great-grandchildren; eight loving great-great-grandchildren; and by two sisters , Gail Leeds and Gladys Zima. He retired from Westinghouse Electric, East Pittsburgh, after 37 years of service. John S. Miller, 87, a resident of Los Angeles, Calif., for the past 2 ½ years, formerly of Lincoln Avenue, Export, died Saturday, June 24, 2000. Born Feb. 16, 1913. Member of Masonic Order, Forbes Trail Lodge, the Tall Cedars of Lebanon, and the Newlonsburg Presbyterian Church. Survived by his wife, Sara Visnic Miller; and a daughter, Lois Miller.
EARNEST BRUNO MIONE
Earnest Bruno Mione, 70, of Export, died Sunday, June 25, 2000. Born March 28, 1930, in Export, a son of the late Modesto and Mary DeBona Mione. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers , Arthur and Richard J. Mione; and a sister, Elizabeth Phillips. Mr. Mione was a member of St. Mary's Church and the Italian American Club, both of Export, and the I.A.C. General Laborers Union #373. Surviving are a brother, John of Warren, Mich.; nieces and nephews, Lisa Chalmers and husband, Bill, of Export, John Mione, Caroline Volk, Michael and Anne Marie Mione, all of Michigan, and Richard Mione of California; cousins, Angie Moutet of Export, Gordon Fidei of Delmont, and Frank Fidei of Florida. Helen Louise Nason, 77, formerly of North Huntingdon, died Thursday, June 22, 2000, in Rosegate Care Center, Columbus, Ohio. She was born June 12, 1923, in McKeesport, a daughter of the late Charles Sr. and Edna Trusdale Kramer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Nason; and two brothers , Charles F. Jr. and Walter E. Kramer Sr. Mrs. Nason was a member of the Long Run Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Tom (Linda) Erlenbusch of Columbus, Ohio; and four grandchildren. There will be no public visitation. A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in Grandview Cemetery, Route 30, North Versailles, with the Rev. William P. Wood officiating. J. DONALD PARKER
J. Donald Parker, 63, of Uniontown, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2000, in Pittsburgh. Born Sept. 12, 1936, in Dearth, Pa., a son of Helen Torcha Parker and the late Harold S. Parker. In addition to his Father , he was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Mahoney Parker; and a son, James David Parker. Mr. Parker was a prominent Uniontown businessman and automobile dealer. Surviving are his children, Chris Parker and wife, Sally, Barbara Parker and Brad Parker; his mother , Helen Torcha Parker; six grandchildren; brother- and sisters -in-law; nieces and nephews; and cousins. WILLIAM S. PERKINS
William S. Perkins, 75, a 36-year resident of Fox Chapel, died Sunday, June 25, 2000, in Harmar Village, Harmar Township. He was born June 4, 1925, in Philadelphia, the son of the late Ernest Fay and Ruth Scott Perkins. He was a graduate of Mt. Lebanon High School, the Carnegie Institute of Technology and Harvard Business School. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and the Korean conflict, rising to the rank of 1st lieutenant. He attended the officers training schools at Cornell University and Georgia Tech, and was a halfback on the Yellow Jacket football team that played in the 1944 Orange Bowl. He spent the first 17 years of his career at Westinghouse Electric, where he rose to the position of corporate director of worldwide purchasing and traffic. He left Westinghouse in 1971 and assumed the position of president and CEO of Wooding Verona Tool Works. Mr. Perkins was a past president of the Carnegie Institute of Technology Alumni Association, the Harvard Business School Club of Pittsburgh and the Free Enterprise Business Mentoring Partnership. He was also a member of the Fox Chapel Golf Club and the Duquesne Club, and was a Steeler season ticket holder for more than 40 years. He is survived by his wife, Nancy R. Perkins; two daughters , Abbie P. Emery of Pittsburgh and Sally P. Rossiter of Christ Church, New Zealand; three sons , Peter D. Perkins of Pittsburgh, William S. Perkins Jr. of Chicago, Ill., and Tristram C. Perkins of New York, N.Y.; eight grandchildren, Ben, Eliza and Sally Emery, Peter, Callie and Addie Perkins, and Hannah and Tristram Rossiter; and a sister, Nancy R. Scarton of Plum Borough. No visitation. A memorial service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church, 384 Fox Chapel Road. Ronald C. Siems, 66, of North Huntingdon, died Monday, June 26, 2000, in the Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. He was born March 9, 1934, in Braddock, a son of the late Charles and Dorothy Rudy Siems. He was a retired employee of U.S. Steel Homestead Works and a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Irwin, where he was a member of the choir. He is survived by his wife, Audrey D. Smith Siems; three daughters , Cheryl L. Coulter and her husband, David, of Vandergrift, Charlene A. Siems and Susan M. Siems, both of North Huntingdon; two grandchildren, Benjamin and Brittany Coulter; and a sister, Eileen Siems of Plum Borough. Walter K. brothers , 89, of Scottdale, died Sunday, June 25, 2000, at his residence. He was born Sept. 8, 1910, at Prittstown, Bullskin Township, a son of the late Charles C. and Nellie McGregor brothers . Walter was a member of the Pennsville Baptist Church and was a student of the former Mudd School. Prior to his retirement, he was a coal miner having worked for the H.C. Frick Co. and the U.S. Steel Corp. Member of the U.M.W.A. and an avid hunter and fisherman. Walter is survived by his devoted wife, Agnes M. (Cale) brothers , with whom he would have celebrated their 64th anniversary on Oct. 14; his loving children, Charles H. brothers and wife, Janet, of Dunbar, David A. brothers and wife, Dianne, of Butler, Evelyn Ruth Shupe and husband, Edwin, of Scottdale, and Janice E. Basinger and husband, Harry, of Connellsville; 18 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Also several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers , Charles brothers and Ernest brothers ; and two sisters , Mary Yothers and Betty Belmont.
