JOSEPHINE R. BEITER YURISINEC

Josephine R. Beiter Yurisinec, 84, of Irwin (Paintertown), died Wednesday, June 21, 2000, in the Forbes Regional Health Center, Monroeville. She was born June 2, 1916, in Hunker, a daughter of the late Frank and Gertrude Long Beiter. She was a former employee of the produce department of Sandson's Grocery Store, Irwin. She was a member of Paintertown Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Irwin Country Club Bowling League, the Paintertown Civic Club and a former member of the Paintertown Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Yurisinec; and three brothers , Eugene, Marion and John Beiter. She is survived by three daughters , Connie Lusebrink and her husband, Melvin, and Karen Morgan and her husband, David, both of Paintertown, and Theresa Firestone and her husband, James, of North Huntingdon; a son, Peter R. Yurisinec Sr. and his wife, Lou Ann, of Harrison City; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters , Almeda Brentzel of North Huntingdon, Kate McSweiney of Paintertown and Marie Smetak of Herminie; four brothers , William Beiter of Paintertown, Richard Beiter of Adamsburg, Robert Beiter of North Huntingdon and James Beiter of Paintertown; also nieces and nephews. Friends received at the WILLIAM SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 521 Main St., Irwin, Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Norman E. Nething officiating. Interment will follow in Irwin Union Cemetery, North Huntingdon.

JEAN C. CONNER ASKEY
Jean C. Conner Askey, 73, of South Broadway, Scottdale, died Saturday morning, June 24, 2000, in her residence. She was born June 19, 1927, in Scottdale, a daughter of the late Charles Conner, who died in 1953, and Anne Leonard Conner, who died in 1960. Jean was a lifelong member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Scottdale. She leaves to cherish her memories, her loving and devoted children, Barbara A. Gossett and her husband, Glenn, of Fayette City, George R. Askey and his wife, Pamela (Randolph), of Scottdale and John W. Askey and his wife, Barbara (Marsh), of Scottdale; seven grandchildren, Tonia Askey Baker, whom she raised, Allison and Rachel Askey, John, Jim, Jeremy and Jesse Askey; four great-grandchildren, Jamie, Bryan and Aaron Baker and Jae Pawlikowsky; special friend, Charles Johnson, and his daughter, Ruthie Deluca, of Scottdale; a niece and two nephews; also her extended family, Ardis Smith and Doris Williams, both of Scottdale. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilford A. "Bones" Askey, who died May 26, 1995; four sisters , Margie Wilfong, who died in 1963, Dorothy Wilson, who died in 1981, Louise Rice, who died in 1982, and Joann Smith, who died in 1988; and a niece, Melissa Wilfong Lytle, who died in 1988. Jean's family will receive friends in the FRANK KAPR FUNERAL HOME INC., 417 W. Pittsburgh St., Scottdale, Monday from noon to 9 p.m. A blessing service will be held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, Scottdale. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist R.C. Parish Cemetery, Scottdale. A parish wake service will be held Monday at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home.

VIRGINIA E. BOICE

Virginia E. Boice, 80, of Pittsburgh, formerly of Turkeytown, South Huntingdon Township, died Saturday, June 24, 2000, at her residence. She was born March 26, 1920, in South Huntingdon Township, a daughter of the late Lawney and Grace Finley Kelley. She was a retired cook, having worked at the Inn America in New Stanton. She was a member of the Barren Run United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Boice; and the following sisters and brothers : Garnet, Gladys, Eunice, Geneve, Esther, Winifred, Imogene, Helen, Wilmer, Milfred and Vernon. She is survived by two daughters and sons -in-law, Linda Suska and husband, John, and Janice Blazevich and husband, Allen, both of Pittsburgh; three grandsons, Sam, Nathan and Logan; a sister, Audrey Davis of Dawson; a brother, George Kelley of Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the L.L. BARTHELS FUNERAL HOME INC., Second Street, Smithton. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 27, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Herbert Peterson officiating. Interment will be in the Barren Run Cemetery, South Huntingdon Township.

GEORGE A. BUSCH JR.

George A. Busch Jr., 53, of Tarrs, died Saturday, June 24, 2000, at the residence of his loving brother, James. Born Dec. 4, 1946, in McKeesport, he was a loving son of the late George A. Busch Sr. and Sophie Kundick Busch. He was the former owner and founder of Busch Auto Glass in Hunker and Busch Distributing in Tarrs. He graduated from Greensburg Central Catholic High School in 1964, and was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in the submarine service from 1966-1969 during the Vietnam era. George was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a member of the American Legion Post 446 in Mt. Pleasant. He is survived and will be deeply missed by his loving brother, James Busch Sr., and sister-in-law, Fran Busch of Hunker; loving nephews, James Busch Jr. and wife, Mindy, of Ruffsdale and Aaron Busch and wife, Debbie, of Bethel Park; loving great-niece, Kaylee Natasha Busch; loving sisters , Paulette Busch and fiance, Gary Show, of Scottdale, Charlotte Trigona and family from Somerset, and Deloris Hodder and family from Virginia; and lifelong friend, Lois Norcera, and son, George, of Greensburg. Friends will be received in the EUGENE G. SALOOM FUNERAL HOME INC., Main Street, Mt. Pleasant, Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Raymond of the Mountains Roman Catholic Church, Donegal, with the Rev. Father John J. Harrold as celebrant. Interment will follow in the St. Raymond Parish Cemetery with full military rites accorded by the members of the American Legion Post 446.

VELMA M. HARTMAN FERGUSON

Velma M. "Boots" Hartman Ferguson, 80, of Irwin, died Saturday, June 24, 2000, in the Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh. She was born Feb. 21, 1920, in Wilkinsburg, a daughter of the late William and Martiena Middah Hartman. She was a retired employee of the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers , William and Robert Hartman. Surviving are her husband of 52 years, William R. Ferguson; a daughter, Pamela Imberlina and her husband, Gregory, of Pittsburgh; and two grandchildren, Joseph and Maria Imberlina. Friends will be received at the JOSEPH F. OTT FUNERAL HOME INC., 504 Oak St., Irwin, Monday and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in the Grandview Cemetery, North Versailles.

SHELTON S. HECK SR.

Shelton S. "Sonny" Heck Sr., 60, of North Huntingdon, died Saturday, June 24, 2000, in the Monsour Medical Center, Jeannette. He was born Aug. 26, 1939, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Shelton and Mary Quenie Heck. He was a retired employee of the H.J. Heinz Co. of Pittsburgh. He was a veteran of the Vietnam era, having served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of American Legion Post 359 of Irwin and VFW Post 781 of North Huntingdon. Surviving are his wife of 28 years, Adrienne Sells Heck; a son, Shelton S. Heck Jr. of North Huntingdon; two daughters , Renee Nicolette and her husband, Eric, of Donegal and Rolande "Ro" Brant of Irwin; six grandchildren, Billy, Danielle, Harry, Joshua, Nicky and Nathan "Little Randy"; four great-grandchildren, including Austin; and a brother, Jack Heck of McKees Rocks. Friends will be received at the JOSEPH F. OTT FUNERAL HOME INC., 504 Oak St., Irwin, Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. John C. Pressler, pastor of United Presbyterian Church of the Covenant, officiating. Interment will follow in the Jefferson Memorial Park, Pleasant Hills.

THOMAS E. LASH

Thomas E. Lash, 53, of Douglasville, Ga., formerly of Herminie, died Friday, June 23, 2000, at home. He was a son of Catherine (Steiner) Lash of Herminie and the late George Lash. In addition to his Father , he was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Landsburger Lash, in 1998; and a sister, Martha Miller. In addition to his mother , he is survived by his present wife, Lona; a daughter, Denae Dittman and her husband, Scott, of Georgia; a son, Aaron Lash and his wife, Diane, of Georgia; and two granddaughters, Clair and Meredith Dittman. Thomas is also survived by three sisters , Barbara, Carol and Cathy; four brothers , George, Joe, Richard and Robert; and a number of nieces and nephews. Services and interment are being held at the WHITLEY-GARNER AT ROSEHAVEN FUNERAL HOME, Douglasville, Ga.

DONALD L. MCFARLAND

Donald L. McFarland, 75, of West Mifflin, on Friday, June 23, 2000. He was a retired computer operator at USX. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. Husband of the late Ethel (Nau) McFarland. Father of Linda and husband, Martin Lynch, of Oceanside, N.Y., Donna and husband, Bob Orie, of Hopewell, James O. and wife, Linda McFarland, of Baldwin and the late Donald E. McFarland. Brother of Eugene McFarland of West Homestead. Also seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Friends will be received Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the GEORGE IRVIN GREEN FUNERAL HOME INC., 3511 Main St., Munhall, where services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m.

ROBERT E. MILLER

Robert E. Miller, 72, of Export, died Wednesday, June 21, 2000, in his loving home. He was born July 28, 1927, in Warren County, Virginia, a son of the late Sue (Glass) Miller, and was raised by his foster parents, the late Walter E. "Bill" Messick and Jessie M. Stokes. Robert was a retired electrician having done electrical work through the union. He was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran, having served during World War II, a member of the Delmont Presbyterian Church, and a member of the Blue Lodge Orient #321 of Ohio, 32nd Degree Consistory of Lynchburg, Va., ACCA Shrine Temple of Richmond, and Eastern Star, Forbes Chapter #524, in which he served as Past Patron from 1974-1984. In addition to his mother and foster parents, Bob was preceded in death by a son, Larry G. Miller, in 1998; and a foster sister, Virginia L. Jenkins. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Jane (Roupe) Miller; a son, John R. Miller and wife, Peggy, of Salem, Va.; and a daughter, Debra J. Nyce and husband, Brian, of Spring City, Pa. In addition, he is survived by 10 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received at the VAIA FUNERAL HOME INC., 463 Athena Drive, Delmont, (724) 468-1177, beginning Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. Bob's funeral service will be held in the funeral home Sunday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Glen H. Burrows of the Delmont Presbyterian Church officiating. Private interment in Twin Valley Memorial Park. Forbes Trail Lodge F&AM #783 will hold a memorial service Saturday at 7 p.m., followed with a memorial service by Eastern Star, Forbes Chapter #524. Kevin P. Altman, supervisor, in charge of arrangements.

JAMES R. PALMER

James R. Palmer, 57, of Latrobe, died Friday, June 23, 2000, in West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born June 16, 1943, in Latrobe, a son of the late Leo J. and Ruth M. Friedline Palmer. He was a member of Holy Family Church in Latrobe. He was an employee of ABB T&D of South Greensburg, a member of the Frontier Club of Latrobe and a member of the Lloydsville Firemen's Club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Kelley Anne Palmer; and five brothers , Edward, Thomas, William, John and Robert Palmer. He is survived by his wife, Gloria J. McCracken Palmer; two daughters , Stacey Himler and her husband, Robert, of Latrobe and Amy Markle and her husband, Brian, of Latrobe; a brother, George Palmer and his wife, May, of Wisconsin; six sisters , Helen Miller of Greensburg, Margaret Graham and her husband, Clarence, of Latrobe, Josephine Zimmerman of Greensburg, Rita Keenan and her husband, Thomas, of Herminie, Sarah Felbaum of Maine and Patricia Vasinko and her husband, James, of Latrobe; and two grandchildren, Samantha and Tyler. Friends will be received in the JOHN J. LOPATICH FUNERAL HOME INC., 601 Weldon St., Latrobe, Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Family Church, Latrobe. ROSE M. PLUNDO

Rose M. Plundo, 86, of Greensburg, died Friday, June 23, 2000, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. Born Jan. 5, 1914, in Greensburg, she was a daughter of the late Nicola and Antonia Pagila Marino. She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Church and its Rosary Altar Society and a former member of the Italian Women's Club. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Catherine Spino; and four brothers , Daniel, Peter, George and Michael Marino. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Mario W. Plundo; a son, Richard M. Plundo of New Hope, Pa.; a daughter, Rosann Trauger and husband, Carl, of Florida; three granddaughters, Pamela Miller, Kimberly Dodd and Lisa Pegg; a great-granddaughter, Skylar Miller; a brother, Joseph A. Marino and wife, Margaret, of Greensburg; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Relatives and friends will be received at the CLEMENT L. PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME, 409 W. VICTORIA TIDSWELL RESTIVO

Victoria Tidswell Restivo, 26, of Mt. Lebanon, on Friday, June 23, 2000. Beloved wife of Christopher Restivo; loving mother of Rachel Morgan Restivo; daughter of Carol A. Tidswell and the late Charles E. Tidswell Jr.; and sister of Charles E. Tidswell III. Mrs. Restivo was a 1992 graduate of Upper St. Clair High School and was employed as a mortgage processor with American Financial Services. Friends will be received Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at BEINHAUER, 2828 Washington Road, Peters Township, (724) 941-3211. SUSAN (CAIRNS) RUSHE

Susan (Cairns) Rushe, 76, of Munhall, on Saturday, June 24, 2000. She was a member of the Thompson Run AARP and was its tour director for over 19 years. She was a member of the Terrace Church of the Nazarene, West Mifflin. Wife of the late Donald Rushe. She is survived by a sister, Nellie and her husband, Frank Dignan, of West Mifflin; three sisters -in-law; nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews. EDNA LOUISE POGUE SHUPIK

Edna Louise Pogue Shupik, 90, of Trafford, died Friday, June 23, 2000, in the Forbes Regional Health Center, Monroeville. She was born in Trafford, Dec. 9, 1909, a daughter of the late William Gary and Melissa Pogue. She was the owner of the Superior Dry Cleaners, Trafford, for almost 70 years, with her late husband, Carl J. Shupik, who died in 1996, and her son, Carl R. Shupik of Trafford. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Trafford. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by several brothers and sisters . Friends will be received at the JOHN M. DOBRINICK FUNERAL HOME, 429 Duquesne Ave., Trafford, Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Jerry D. Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Grandview Cemetery, North Versailles.
