Ann (Zella) Litvak, of Monroeville, longtime resident of Carnegie, on Monday, June 19, 2000. Wife of the late John Litvak; mother of Patricia (Michael) Grieco and Paul (Barbara) Litvak of Virginia; sister of the late Mary, Mildred, Theresa, Rose, John and Michael; grandmother of Maria Grieco-Turkel, Andrea Grieco and John Litvak; and devoted and loving great-grandmother of Maura Anne, Kellie Lynne and Lucie Falon. Friends received at the BAGNATO FUNERAL HOME, Chartiers Boulevard, Carnegie, Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Liturgy in Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church Friday 10 a.m. Parastas Thursday 7:30 p.m.

MARY JANE LOCHNER

Mary Jane Lochner, 70, of Irwin, died Monday, June 19, 2000, at the Jeannette District Memorial Hospital. She was born Feb. 24, 1930, in Braddock, a daughter of the late Stephen and Mary Klopotowski Bayko. Prior to her retirement, she was the owner of Precision Components Specialists in Adamsburg. She was an active member of The Church in Sutersville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Lochner, in 1980; and a half brother, Nick Mospan. Surviving are two sons , William S. Lochner and his wife, Lauren, of Madison and Robert B. Lochner and his wife, Natalie, of Clemson, S.C.; a daughter, Cheryl A. Hermann and her husband, Sheldon, of Noblesville, Ind.; five grandchildren; and a brother, John Bayko and his wife, Nancy, of Chambersburg, Pa. Friends will be received at The Church, Sutersville-Rillton Road, Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held in The Church Friday at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Frank A. Rocco officiating. Entombment will follow in the Penn-Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum, North Huntingdon. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to The Church, For the Homeless, Sutersville-Rillton Road, Sutersville, PA 15083-1006. BEATTY-RICH FUNERAL HOME INC., Madison, in charge of arrangements.

THE REV. S. MILES MCCONNELL

The Rev. S. Miles McConnell, 60, of Roley Street, Belle Vernon, died Tuesday, June 20, 2000, in Mon Valley Hospital. A son of the late William Fred and Jennie Mae Hoffmeyer McConnell, he was born Feb. 7, 1940, in Sewickley. He received his bachelor of arts degree from West Virginia Wesleyan and his master of divinity from Wesley Theological Seminary. His home church was the Coraopolis United Methodist Church. He had served as pastor of the following United Methodist churches: Jefferson , 1964-1968; Rices Landing/Millsboro, 1966-1968; South Harborcreek, 1968-1975; Youngwood, Christ, 1988-1993; Pine Run, Clairton, 1993-1996; and First United Methodist of Belle Vernon since 1996. He is survived by his wife, Helen Smith McConnell, with whom he would have celebrated 35 years of marriage on Aug. 6, 2000; two daughters and two sons -in-law, Susanna and Thomas Schiefer of Orangeburg, S.C., and Heidi and Karl Hill of Monessen; and three grandchildren, Eric Schiefer, Bentley Hill and Alyssa Schiefer. Friends will be received in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be private. A public memorial service will be held Sunday, July 2, at 3 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church of Belle Vernon.

WILLIAM F. MILLER

William F. Miller, 75, of Uniontown, died Tuesday, June 20, 2000, in LaFayette Manor. He was born Aug. 2, 1924, in Uniontown, to the late Paul A. Sr. and Mary Elizabeth (Walls) Miller. Mr. Miller graduated from Uniontown High School in 1942 and attended California State Teachers College (B.S.), Penn State University (M.Ed.), and was a veteran of World War II with many decorations for his combat duties. Surviving are his wife, Lorraine Hartzell Miller; a son, Kurt W. of San Diego, Calif.; a daughter, Gail Lynn Marmol of Greensburg; and four grandchildren. His brothers , Thomas E. Miller of Sturbridge, Mass., and Paul A. Miller Jr. of Uniontown are deceased. The family will receive friends in the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC., 80 Morgantown St., Uniontown, Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday until 11 a.m., the time of service with the Rev. Peter Ostrander officiating. Interment will be in the LaFayette Memorial Park with military rites by VFW Post 47 of Uniontown.

DR. ROBERT L. SCHOEWE

Dr. Robert L. Schoewe, 70, of Allison Park, died Thursday, June 15, 2000. He was a partner in Dentonics Inc. of Allison Park. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Lois Hammer Schoewe; three daughters , Kathy Hall and her husband, Dr. James Hall, of Upper St. Clair, Mrs. Thomas (Beth) Yoder of Belle Vernon and Dr. Susan DiPerna and her husband, Dr. James DiPerna, of Allison Park; a brother, Raymond Baird Schoewe of Lawrenceburg, Ind.; and 10 grandchildren. Friends are invited to a service Saturday, June 24, at 2 p.m. at the Parkwood United Presbyterian Church, Mt. Royal Boulevard, Allison Park. The family will receive friends in the church hall following the service. The family requests memorial contributions to the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, c/o Steven L. Kondis, Executive Director of Dental Alumni Association, 3501 Terrace St., Pittsburgh, PA 15261.

HOMER J. SNYDER

Homer J. Snyder, 78, of Salemville, passed away Sunday, June 18, 2000, in his residence. He was a son of the late H.J. Snyder and Lauretta E. Shubert. He was a truck driver, having worked for BEST Oil Co. Interment will be in Allegheny Cemetery, Pittsburgh. P. DAVID NEWHOUSE FUNERAL HOME, New Alexandria, in charge of arrangements.

CALVIN M. STIFFLER

Calvin M. Stiffler, 94, of Adamsburg, died Monday, June 19, 2000, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. He was born Dec. 25, 1905, in Pavia, Pa., a son of the late John C. and Tillie Yarnell Stiffler. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Westinghouse Airbrake in Trafford. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Fernetta Decker Stiffler, in 1993; four brothers , Elmer, John, Russell and Mike Stiffler; and a sister, Emma Taylor. He is survived by two daughters , Jeannine and husband, Bucky Kaylor, of Greensburg and Darlene and husband, William Callaghan, of Irwin; three sisters , Ada Baker of Bedford, Ethel Ranker of Osterburg, Pa., and Ann Maticic of Sidman, Pa.; three grandchildren, Jeff Kaylor, Greg Kaylor, and Michelle Carns; and a great-grandson, Gordon Kaylor. Friends will be received at the JAMES E. LINDSAY FUNERAL HOME INC., Main Street, Harrison City, Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Larry Knotts officiating. Interment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Boy Scouts of America or a favorite charity of your choice.

MARY K. SWARTZ

Mary K. Swartz, 101, formerly of Mt. Lebanon, died Monday, June 19, 2000, in the Weatherwood Manor, Hempfield Township. She was born Nov. 11, 1898, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Caspar Schaefer and Anna Magdelena Rall. She attended the Margaret Morrison College of Carnegie Tech and was a member of the Southminster Presbyterian Church, Mt. Lebanon. She was preceded in death by her husband, George B. Swartz, in 1978. She is survived by a son, George B. Swartz Jr. and his wife, Jeanne E., of Murrysville; a daughter, Jeanne Auman and her husband, George, of Carlisle; six grandchildren, Evelyn Amidon, James, Robert and David Swartz, Carol Sprecher and Connie Kuykendall; 10 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Visitation Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the JOHN T. HART FUNERAL HOME, Murrysville. A service will be held in the funeral home Thursday at 10 a.m. with Dr. T. Ewen Holmes officiating. Entombment will follow in the Allegheny Cemetery, Pittsburgh.

JOSEPHINE ANN VARGO

A Memorial Mass for Josephine Ann Vargo, 65, will be celebrated Thursday, June 22, at 10 a.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Jacksonville, Fla., with Monsignor James Hesslin officiating. A native of Canonsburg, Mrs. Vargo died Sunday, June 18, 2000, in a Jacksonville Beach hospital. Moving from Allentown, she had been a resident of Jacksonville since 1998. Mrs. Vargo was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church; and graduated from Seton Hill College in Greensburg, where she received her degree in music. Mrs. Vargo was also a member of the Seton Hill Alumni Association and the Navy Officers Wives Club of America. Survivors include her husband, Henry G. Vargo of Jacksonville; four sons , Henry Vance Vargo of Northampton, Pa., John Thomas Vargo of Yokuska, Japan, Matthew Allen Vargo of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Phillip Andrew Vargo of Edinboro; a daughter, Maurann Hauken of Chula Vista, Calif.; two sisters , Patricia Ruffner of Colorado and Elizabeth Trice of Greensburg; and 10 grandchildren. Arrangements are under the direction of HARDAGE-GIDDENS FUNERAL HOME, 850 St. Johns Bluff Road, Jacksonville, Fla.

ALAN KEITH
Alan Keith, of Verona, quietly on Sunday, June 18, 2000. Son of mother Hazel Scott of Verona and the late Rufus Keith. Brother of Monnie Keith of Verona; and uncle of Tracey and Stacey Brown of Verona. Also survived by a host of other relatives and friends. Friends may call Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the WHITE MEMORIAL CHAPEL OF POINT BREEZE, 7204 Thomas Blvd. Funeral ceremony Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ. ANNA E. KERIN

Anna E. Kerin, 83, a resident of Westmoreland Manor, formerly of Jeannette, died Monday, June 19, 2000. She was born July 16, 1916, in Rankin, a daughter of the late George and Helen Fritz Gerich. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church, Jeannette, and its Rosary Altar Society. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Thomas J. Kerin Sr., in 1993; a sister, Mary Krumpitch; and two brothers , John Geric and George Gerich. She is survived by a daughter, Kathleen Kerin of Seattle, Wash.; a son, Thomas J. Kerin Jr. and wife, Marilyn, of Jeannette; a sister, Louise Stark of Swissvale; two brothers , Joseph Gerich and wife, Anne, of Hampton, Va., and Rudy Geric and wife, Elvira, of Swissvale; three grandchildren, Douglas Kerin and wife, Susan, Benjamin Konosky and Kristina Kerin; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends received at the JOHN V. GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME INC., 228 N. Second St., Jeannette, beginning Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Church. Interment will follow in the SS. Simon & Jude Cemetery, Blairsville. The Sacred Heart Rosary Altar Society will pray the rosary Tuesday at 3 p.m. in the funeral home.

EVELYN YOUNG LAVRICH

Evelyn Young Lavrich, 68, of Apollo, died Monday, June 19, 2000. She was born Nov. 16, 1931, in Apollo, a daughter of the late Raymond D. and Florence Bovard Young. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, in 1984; and a sister, Ruth Spear. Evelyn was a lifelong member of the Poke Run Presbyterian Church, where she was a deacon, a member of the Circle 4 and the Presbyterian Women's Association, and a Sunday school and bible school teacher. She was also active with funeral dinners and suppers at the church. She was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary Chapter 36, Vandergrift. She is survived by two sons , Thomas W. and Mark R., both of Apollo; a daughter, Courtney M. Lavrich of Cranberry Township; a brother, James Young of Huntington Beach, Calif.; five sisters , Margaret and husband, Earl Davis, of New Kensington, Mary Reese of New Kensington, Lucille Washburn of Oregon, Helen and husband, John Maben, of Dayton, Ohio, and Alta Jean and husband, Glenn Ross, of Apollo; also numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the EDWIN N. WOLFE FUNERAL HOME INC., Export, Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Poke Run Presbyterian Church, Mamont, with the Rev. Robert Upton officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

THOMAS ROSS

Thomas Ross, 85, of Greensburg, died Monday, June 19, 2000, in the Jeannette District Memorial Hospital. He was born March 29, 1915, in Youngstown, Ohio, a son of the late Thomas and Emma Eberly Ross. Prior to retirement, he had been employed by John Coxon Ford of Harmarville and had attended Holy Cross Catholic Church, Youngwood. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sara M. Zehfuss Ross, on July 8, 1999; and a son-in-law, Chester Lewandowski. He is survived by his children, Thomas and his wife, Pat Ross, of West Newton, Bridget Hoegel and her husband, Bill, of Greensburg, Mary Ann Lewandowski of Enfield, Conn., and Timothy and his wife, Rose Ross, of Irwin; a grandson, Thomas and his wife, Vickie Ross, of North Huntingdon, who he raised; eight other grandchildren; a stepgrandson; nine great-grandchildren; a stepgreat-grandson; and a sister, Mary Panyi of North Hills. Friends received at the BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 516 Stanton at Green streets, Greensburg, Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A blessing service will be held in the funeral home Thursday at 9:15 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in Holy Cross Catholic Church, Youngwood, with the Rev. John S. Szczesny as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Boniface Cemetery.

Charles Tedesco, 81, of Lawrenceville, on Sunday, June 18, 2000. Beloved husband of Helen (Stanchak). Father of Charles S., Anthony A. Tedesco, and Marsha L. Szwaczkowski. Grandfather of Donna, Debbie, Lauren, and Kristin Tedesco. Grandfather of Brian Tedesco. Brother of Vincent Tedesco, Antoinette Carmondy, and the late Joseph Tedesco. Father -in-law of Terri and Carol Tedesco and Blase Szwaczkowski. Also survived by nieces and nephews. Visitation Tuesday and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the DANIEL T.
