Ruth J. Pollock
Ruth J. Pollock, 68, of Pettebone Street, Forty Fort, died Sunday in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
She was born June 10, 1929, in Ceasetown, daughter of the late Sheldon and Julia Gross Pollock, and resided in Sweet Valley 33 years before moving to Kingston in 1964.
Mrs. Pollock was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, Plymouth.
Before retiring in 1987, she was employed as a data transcriber by Department of Health and Human Welfare for 30 years.
Surviving are uncle, George Gross, Sweet Valley; cousins.
Funeral will be held Wednesday at 11 from Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with the Rev. Clyde J. Lee, pastor, Ebenezer Baptist Church, officiating.
Interment will be in Maple Grove cemetery, Pikes Creek. Friends may call Wednesday, 10 until time of service.

Helen Holmes
Helen Pauline Holmes, 80, of Park St., Benton, died Monday at Orangeville Nursing Rehabilitation Center, Orangeville.
She was a former resident of Muhlenburg and Hunlock Creek.
Born Dec. 7, 1916 in Hunlock Creek, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Susie Rittenhouse Sorber.
She was a member of the Muhlenburg United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Thomas J. Holmes; daughters: Mrs. Thomas (Florense Sue) Whalen, Levittown and Mrs. Anthony (Melissa Ann) Wright, Benton; three grandchildren; one step-grandson; and two great-grandsons; brother: Sheldon Sorber, Nanticoke.
She was preceded in death by brothers, George M., Luther, Edgar, and sister, Hazel Irene Shaffer.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, 11 a.m., from the Clarke Piatt Funeral Home, Inc., Sunset Lake Road, Hunlock Creek, with the Rev. James Davis, United Methodist Church (retired), officiating.
Interment will be in Bloomingdale cemetery, Bloomingdale.

Edward Cooper
Edward R. Cooper, 77, formerly of 34 Kidder St., East End section of Wilkes-Barre, died Sunday at Sandy Regional Convalescent Center, Sandy, Utah.
He was born June 30, 1920, in Wilkes-Barre, the son of the late Joseph and Mary Brislin Cooper.
A resident of East End most of his life, he attended the Wilkes-Barre schools.
An Army veteran of World War II, he earned four campaign battle stars in the European Theater.
He was employed as a mail carrier for the U.S. post office and was a former member of Holy Saviour Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Yourglivch Cooper; brothers: Patrick, William, James, Hugh, Joseph, and Robert Cooper.
Surviving are son, Joseph G. Cooper, Midvale, Utah; sister, Mary Gamba, New York, N.Y.
Funeral will be held Thursday, 9 a.m., from E. Blake Collins Funeral Home, 159 George Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with a funeral mass at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Saviour Church.
Interment will be in St. Mary's cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call Thursday from 7-9 p.m.
Mary Ann Reno
Mary Ann Reno, Harveys Lake, died Sunday in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown.
Born in Taylor, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Apolonija Olczak Kaczenski.
She was a 1958 graduate of Duryea High School and also attended the former Wilkes-Barre Business College.
She had been employed at First Eastern Bank in Wilkes-Barre in the Installment Loan department for 18 years and was employed the last three years at College Misericordia as a secretary in the Physical Therapy department.
Mrs. Reno was active with Lake Noxen Elementary School PTA, the Harveys Lake Little League, the Lake-Lehman Field Hockey Parents Association, and as a solicitor for College Misericordia's campaign fund drives.
Surviving are husband, John; daughter, Jennifer Lynn, at home; brothers: Thaddeus Kaczenski, Duryea; John Kaczenski, Duryea; Francis Kaczenski, Carteret, N.J.; several nieces and nephews.
A memorial mass will be held October 19, at 12:30 p.m. in College Misericordia Chapel, Dallas.

Dorothy H. Toloczko
Dorothy H. Toloczko of Heritage House, Wilkes-Barre died Monday in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late James and Elmie Bonnert Hayden.
She was a 1938 graduate of St. Joseph's Academy, McSherrystown, and Mount Mercy College, Pittsburgh.
She was employed as a dietician with the Veterans Administration Medical Centers in Pennsylvania, Delaware, and West Virginia.
She also was employed in the Veterans Administration Central Office in Washington, D.C., retiring in 1979.
She was a member of St. Mary's Church of the Maternity, Wilkes-Barre; the National Association of Retired Federal employees; and the American Legion Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Mae Hayden.
Surviving are husband, Peter; stepdaughters: Dr. Agnes Cardoni, Kingston; Dr. Ann Marie Toloczko, Bartonsville; one stepgrandson; and sister, Dolores Loretta Hayden, Pittsburgh.
Funeral will be held Wednesday at 9 p.m. from the Jendrzejewski Funeral Home, 21 N. Meade Street, Wilkes-Barre, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary's Church of the Maternity, Wilkes-Barre.
Friends may call Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. Interment will be in St. Mary's cemetery, Hanover Twp.
Anne Prebish
Anne Prebish, 91, of Walters Circle, Fort Walton Beach, Fla., formerly of Glen Lyon, died Sunday in Fort Walton Beach Medical Center.

Annette M. Alles
Annette M. Alles, 93, West Bennett Street, Kingston, died early Monday morning at Hospice Community Care Unit of Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.
Born in New York state, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Michelene Renzulli Giovino.
She was a guest at Meadows Nursing Center in Dallas for the last year. She had previously resided on West Bennett Street for over 60 years.
She was a member of St. Therese's Church, Shavertown.
Preceding her in death were husband, George J. Alles, Sr. in September of 1990; sisters, Fhilomena Colonna, Mildred Pietrafesa, Connie Mascolino and a brother, William Giovino.
Surviving are sons: George J. Alles, Jr., Harveys Lake and Williams A. Alles, Shavertown; daughters: Mrs. Ruth Holvey, Whitehall and Mrs. Reynold (Catherine) Schuler, Wilkes-Barre; sisters: Mrs. William P. (Anne) Montague and Mrs. Anthony (Mary) English, both of Wilkes-Barre; 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, 9:30 a.m., from the Hugh B. Hughes and Son, Inc., Funeral Home, 1044 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Therese's Church, Shavertown, with the Rev. J. Peter Crynes, officiating.
Interment will be in St. Nicholas cemetery, Shavertown. Friends may call Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A wake service will be conducted Tuesday at 3 p.m.

Dorothy Manganiello
Dorothy M. Manganiello, 76, of 204 Johnson St., Pittston, died Monday in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
She was born Aug. 6, 1921, daughter of the late John J. and Margaret McNulty Gallagher, and was a life resident of Pittston.
Mrs. Manganiello was employed as a sewing machine operator by Pittston Apparel.
She was a member of St. Rocco's Church, Pittston.
Her husband, Ludwig, died Feb. 29, 1988; brothers, Francis, John, William and Gene; sisters, Beatrice Shelton, Margaret Olmstead, Veronica Long, Annora Frazee and Esther Pickler, also preceded her in death.
Surviving are sons, Ludwig, West Pittston; Thomas, Old Forge; Carl, Pittston; daughters, Marie, Dorothy and Barbara Manganiello, all of Pittston; Janice LaBella, Philadelphia; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held Thursday at 11 from Graziano Funeral Home Inc., 700 Township Blvd., Pittston Township, with Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 in St Rocco's Church.
Interment will be in parish cemetery, Pittston Township.
