Frances D. Nicolai
Frances Dorsam Nicolai, 74, of New Cumberland, died peacefully Friday morning at Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Twp.

She was born 12-30-1926 in Peru, IN, to the late Joseph and Ann (Hahn) Dorsam.

She was a Scripture scholar who devoted her life to studying, sharing her insights, and teaching others. She touched the lives of many people with her enthusiasm and love of truth and beauty. Her other passion was helping others with their recovery, spending countless hours talking and listening, laughing and crying. She was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland.

She is survived by her loving and faithful husband, Bill; four gifted children, Amanda Hasemeier, Kathryn Nicolai, Annette Nicolai, and Bill Nicolai; two sisters, Rosanna Becker, Peru, IN and MaryJo Yentes, Ft. Wayne, IN; 8 grand children.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 am Monday in her church with the Rev. Msgr. Robert E. Lawrence presiding.

Visitation will be held 6-8pm Sunday at Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., New Cumberland, with a prayer service at 7pm.

Ida A. W. Nonemaker
Ida Alberta Whitcomb Nonemaker, 86, formerly of New Cumberland, died Friday, April 27, 2001 at the Church of God Home, Carlisle.

She was a Life Elder of New Cumberland First Church of God; a member of the Church of God Home Choir; enjoyed various crafts and playing the piano.

She was born 4-30-1914 in Harrisburg, PA to the late John S. and Rebecca E. (Fishel) Whitcomb.

She was the widow of John B. Nonemaker. She is survived by two sons, John O., Concord, CA and Keith A., Camp Hill; a daughter Marsha L. Eslinger, Wertzville; a brother Ralph M. Whitcomb, Ephrata; a sister Jeanne Miller, Harrisburg; 7 grand children; 8 great grand children.

Funeral services will be held 11am Tuesday at her church with the Rev. Gavin L. Whitcomb, her nephew, officiating. Burial will be in Mount Zion cemetery, Monroe Twp.

Viewing will be 6-8pm Monday in Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., New Cumberland.

Sara K. Noss
Sara K. Noss, of Mechanicsburg, died Sunday, March 28, 2001 in Messiah Village, Upper Allen Twp.

She was a home maker and was a retired seamstress with the former Grantham Dress Factory, Grantham, PA; member of Eberly Mills Church of God, Camp Hill; and enjoyed flower gardening

She was born May 25, 1913 in Mechanicsburg, PA to the late Clarence A. and Kathryn Wise Kapp.

She was the widow of Archie A. Noss. She is survived by three sons, Archie A., Jr., Enola, Larry E., Mechanicsburg, Wayne E., Camp Hill; two  daughters, Mary K. Lantzy, Mechanicsburg, Sara M. Sanders, Camp Hill; three brothers, Aaron Kapp, Mechanicsburg, Glenn Kapp, Newville; Arnold Kapp, New Cumberland; a sister Anna Blust, Chambersburg; 17 grand children; 29 great grand children; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2pm Wednesday in Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland with the Rev. James Moss, her pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Trindle Springs cemetery, Mechanicsburg.

Viewing will be 1 hour prior to the service in the funeral home.

John A. Parthemore
Pastor John A. "Jack" Parthemore, Jr., 71, of Woodbury, Bedford County, and formerly of Middletown, Hamler, OH, New Cumberland, and Lewisberry, died Easter Sunday, April 15, 2001 at his home.

He served fifty years as a Church of God Minister. He especially enjoyed teaching the history of the church. He was the current Interim Pastor of Henrietta Church of God, Martinsburg and had previously served as Pastor for Zion Church of God, Hamler, Ohio; Bowmansdale and Mount Pleasant Church of God, and Middletown Church of God. He served as editor from 1960 until 1979 for the Church Advocate magazine. He was a graduate of the former New Cumberland High School, Findley College and Winebrenner Seminary, Findley, OH. and Gettysburg Lutheran Theological Seminary.

He was born August 13, 1929 in Polyclinic Hospital, Harrisburg to the late John A. and Mary Kathryn (Hoff) Parthemore, Sr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by a sister, Shirley May Parthemore.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Grace (Rayle) Parthemore; three sons, John A. of Billings, Montana, Jeffrey D. of Harrisburg, and Joel E. of Ghana, West Africa; two  daughters, Judy M. Parthemore of Woodbury, and Jan E. Parthemore of Seven Valleys.

Memorial services will be held at 2pm Friday at Bare Memorial Church of God, East Main Street, Roaring Springs and 3 pm Sunday in First Church of God, Middletown. Private burial will be in Dry Hill cemetery , Woodbury Twp. Visitations will follow both services in the respective church.

Helen D. Perry
Helen Detweiler Perry, 78, of Lower Allen Twp. died Wednesday April 18, 2001 in Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Twp.

She was a registered nurse and an active volunteer for both Meals on Wheels and the Food Pantry. She was past president of Welcome Wagon and the Newcomers Club, West Shore locations. She was a member of Faith United Church of Christ, New Cumberland; the Harrisburg Bridge Club; and West Shore Country Club, Camp Hill.

She was born June 9, 1922 in Jamison, PA to the late N. Irwin and Helen Irene (Kierstade) Rubinkam.

She was the widow of Clarence M. Detweiler. She is survived by her husband George A. Perry; a son John R. "Jack" Detweiler of Camp Hill; a daughter Nancy Detweiler-Schamens of Mechanicsburg; a stepson Frank Perry of Lawnton; 3 stepdaughters, Christine Perry and Susan Hopkins, both of Harrisburg and Friederike Bond of New Cumberland; 5 sisters, Sarah Stratton and Lillian Kramer, both of Southampton, PA, Edith Ward of Audubon, NJ, Emma Hale of London, Ontario, Canada and Edra Bechtel of Ackworth, IA; 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Services will be held at noon Saturday April 21, 2001 in her church with the Rev. Margaret E. Spaulding, her pastor officiating. Private burial will be at the convenience of the family in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Twp.

Visitation will immediately follow the service.

Kitty R. Peters
Kitty R. Peters, 57, of Harrisburg died Tuesday July 10, 2001 in East Pennsboro Twp. She was a retired Dental Lab Technician for Harris & Neal Dental Lab, Harrisburg and a member of Green St. Church of God, Calder St, Harrisburg.

She was born 7/15/43 in Harrisburg, PA to the late Harold E. & Leola E. (Demmy) Beers.

She was the widow of George Najdek and Edward Peters. She is survived by 2 sons, Rodger W. Beers of Enola and George M. "Buddy" Nadjek of Steelton; a sister Dianne Beers Homerich of Mechanicsburg; 2 brothers, Harold E. Beers, Jr. of Harrisburg and Kenneth W. Beers of Mechanicsburg; a friend Jack Warfield of Harrisburg; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Services will be held 2pm Thursday 7/12/2001 in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Entombment will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Twp.

Viewing will be from noon until 2 pm Thursday in the funeral home.

Pearl E. Peters
Pearl E. Peters, 70, of Lower Paxton Township, died Tuesday, July 31, 2001, at Community General Osteopathic Hospital, Lower Paxton Township.

She was a retired baker with Giant Foods, 29th Street, Harrisburg; a member of Ladies Auxiliary of the V.F.W., post # 1213, Rutherford Heights; Moose Lodge No 107, Marysville.

She was born 7-9-1931 in Harrisburg to William Kennedy, deceased, and Ida L. Kautz Kennedy, Harrisburg.

She was the widow of Edmund L. Peters. In addition to her mother, she is survived by a son, George C. Peters, Sr., Middletown; three grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2pm Friday at Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland with the Rev. Eugene A. Liddick, Charlton United Methodist Church, Lower Paxton Twp., officiating. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Park, Lower Paxton Twp.

Visitation will 1-2pm Friday in the funeral home.

Thomas J. Petroskie
Thomas J. Petroskie, 79, of New Cumberland, died Sunday, May 27, 2001 at West Shore Rehabilitation Center, East Pennsboro Twp.

A WWII Army Veteran, He was a retired clerk from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. He was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland and 4th degree member of Knights of Columbus West Shore Council, Camp Hill. He enjoyed camping, swimming, and bicycling.

He was born December 21, 1921 in Mt. Carmel.

The widower of Mary Louise Heine Petroskie, he is survived by a son, Michael T. of New Cumberland, two  daughters, Bernadette Garofola of Mt. Laurel, NJ and Kathleen Wagner of Punta Gorda, FL; two brothers, Pet Muldoon of Mt. Carmel and Elmer Petroskie of Mission Viejo, CA; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am Wednesday at his church. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven cemetery,

Viewings will be from 6-8pm Tuesday with Knights of Columbus Services and a Scripture Service at 8pm and from 9-10pm Wednesday at Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland.

Mark S. Resetar
Mark S. Resetar, 43, of Etters died Friday, June 15, 2001 in Harrisburg Hospital.

He was an Account Manager for Motorola, Inc. in Wilkes-Barre, Reading, and most recently, Harrisburg and was a graduate of Delaware Valley College, Doylestown, PA.

He was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland and active in coaching and a former board member of Red Land Little League Baseball Association. He was born July 15, 1957 in Camp LeJeune, NC to Florence A. (Jakon) and the late Peter J. Resetar.

In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife Sharon J. (McHale) Resetar; 2 sons, Eric and Colin, both at home; 2  daughters, Jennifer & Megan, both at home; a sister Kim Sutliff of Kingston, PA; 2 brothers, John J. of Kingston and Jay of West Wyoming, PA; and several nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 pm Tuesday in his church with the Rev. Msgr. Robert E. Lawrence, his pastor officiating. Burial will be Saturday 6/23/2001 in Holy Trinity Catholic cemetery, Hughes St., Swoyersville, PA.

There will be no viewing or visitation.

Eleanor L. Sayre
Eleanor (Lafollette) Sayre, 88, of Wellsburg, WV died Thursday June 28, 2001 in Manor Care, Camp Hill, PA.

She was a retired glassworker and payroll clerk with 32 years service at Cresent Glass Co., Wellsburg, WV. She was a member of First Christian Church, Wellsburg, WV; American Legion Auxillary, Wellsburg, WV; and an officer in her local United Machinists Union of America. She loved crossword puzzles; was a devoted West Virginia Mountaineer fan; loved all athletics; high school basketball player; and in later years, she and her husband were honorary parents for the Brooke County High School girls' basketball team, Cross Creek, WV.

She was born 5/16/13 in Bucktel, Athens County, OH to the late Joshua A. and Mary (Cusic) Lafollette.

She was the widow of Lawrence Sayre and is survived by a son Lawrence A. Sayre of Camp Hill; 2  daughters, Marion "Dudie" Lamone of Columbus, OH and Betty "Jean" Mozingo of Avella, PA; a sister Virginia Radcliff of Wheeling, WV; 7 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; and in addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Dolores McCoy.

Services will be held 11 am Saturday in Chambers Funeral Home, Wellsburg, WV. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Weirton, WV.

Viewings will be Friday 7-9pm and Saturday 9-11am in the funeral home.

I. Paul Sharrets
I. Paul Sharretts, 73, of Mechanicsburg, died Wednesday, July 4, 2001 at Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Twp.

A Korean Army Veteran, he was the former owner/operator of Charles D. Snyder and Son, Harrisburg and Sharretts Plating, Emigsville. He was a graduate of John Harris High School and Temple University. He was a member Communtiy United Methodist Church, New Cumberland, Perseverance Lodge No. 28, F & AM, Harrisburg, Harrisburg Consistory; Zembo Temple, and Past President of Zembo Luncheon Club and Lancaster Branch of the American Electroplating Society. He was a past board member of Southern PA National Bank and the former Dauphin Deposit Bank.

He was born October 23, 1927 in Harrisburg to the late Irvin L. and Carrie (Sterrett) Sharretts.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia A. Fickes Sharretts, two sons, Timothy B. of Camp Hill and Thomas P. of Mechanicsburg; a sister, Mary Leah Anspach of New Cumberland; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11am Saturday at his church. Burial will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Twp. Visitation will be from 10 to 10:45am Saturday at the church.

Geraldine Marie Shartle
Geraldine Marie Shartle, 81, of Redlands, CA and formerly of Harrisburg, PA died Monday, June 12, 2001 as a result of an automobile accident in Berks County, PA.

She was a retired secretary; a 16 year volunteer for American Red Cross in CA; was a graduate of Lewisburg (PA) High School and Thompson Business School, Harrisburg, PA; and was a member of Bethany Reformed Church, Redlands, CA and the Who-Goofed Square Dancers Club, Redlands, CA.

She was born 12/20/1919 in Devils Lake, ND to the late Foster & Dora (Reichley) Musser. She is survived by her husband Paul R. Shartle; a daughter Karen Marie Zerger of West Chester, OH; a brother Marlyn Musser of Lewisburg, PA; and 3 grandchildren.

Angela Pauline Sheehan, 72, of Highland Park, Camp Hill died Monday April 9, 2001 in Harrisburg Hospital, Harrisburg, PA.

She was a former employee of both the former Mechanicsburg Rehab, now Renova Center for Special Services and the former Pomeroy's Department Store, downtown Harrisburg. She was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland and Mechanicsburg Senior Center.

She was the widow of Russell J. Sheehan, Sr. and is survived by a son Russell, Jr. of Camp Hill; 2  daughters, Ann L. Shughart of Carlisle and Kathleen Gould of Steelton; a sister Constance Summerson of Renovo, PA; and 8 grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 am Wednesday April 11, 2001 in her church with the Rev. Msgr. Robert E. Lawrence, her pastor as celebrant. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.

Theresa Maria Shimp, 72, of New Cumberland died Friday, May 11, 2001 in Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Twp.

She retired in 1980 as a Sales Manager for the former Bell Telephone Co., Harrisburg and was a graduate of Catholic High School, Harrisburg (now Bishop McDevitt). She was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church and West Shore Senior Center, both of New Cumberland and the Telephone Pioneers of America.

She was born 8/10/29 in Harrisburg to the late William & Genevieve (Palmer) Shimp.

She is survived by 2 sisters, M. Kathleen Greenawalt O'Daniel of New Cumberland and Elizabeth Zlogar of Stratford, NJ; several nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and 2 great grand nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 am Wednesday 5/16/2001 in her church with the Rev. Msgr. Robert E. Lawrence, her pastor celebrating mass. Burial will be in Holy Cross cemetery, Swatara Twp.

There will be no viewing or visitation. Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland is handling arrangements.

Michael J. Shope
Michael J. Shope, 38, of Lewisberry, died Saturday, July 7, 2001 at his home.

A graduate of Red Land High School and Computer Learning Center, Mechanicsburg, he also attended Penn State University, York campus. He was a member of Warrington Gun and Kennel Club, Wellsville. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He was born May 6, 1963 in Mechanicsburg.

A son, Michael J. Shope, Jr. of New Cumberland; his parents, Jack R. Shope of York Haven and Mary R. Egenrieder Shope of Lewisberry; two brothers, David Shope of Etters and Daniel Shope of Wellsville; and a sister, Rose Beres of Ashland Wisconsin, survive him.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30pm Wednesday at Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., New Cumberland. www.parthemore.com
