Effie B. Eichelberger Stoner, 102, formerly of Camp Hill died Wednesday 8/9/2000 in Church of God Home, Carlisle.

She was a member of First Church of God, New Cumberland. She was born 8/8/1898 in Fairview Twp., York Co., PA to the late Charles & Susan (Hiler) Eichelberger.

She was the widow of Paul G. Stoner and is survived by a daughter Martha E. Sides of Ephrata; 2 sons, Ralph E. of Mechanicsburg and Charles C. of Wedowee, AL; 6 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren.

Services will be held 10:30 am Saturday in the Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation services, New Cumberland with the Rev's. Dennis E. Hamsher and Curtis D. Heisler co-officiating.Burial will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Twp.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services Saturday in the funeral home.

Anna May Stutzman

Anna May (Bressler) Stutzman, 87, of Lower Allen Twp. and formerly of Tower City died Friday 2/25/2000 in Messiah Village, Upper Allen Twp

. She was a graduate of West Chester University (formerly West Chester Normal School) and a member of Christ Presbyterian Church, Allendale, Camp Hill. She enjoyed music and playing bridge.

She was born 8/18/12 in Donaldson, Schuylkill Co., PA to the late Brooke J. & Sallie E. (Ney) Bressler. She was the widow of Howard G. Stutzman and is survived by a daughter Barbara S. Hawley of Camp Hill; a son William H. Stutzman of Audubon, PA; 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held 12 noon in her church with the Rev. Tim F. Roach, her pastor officiating. Burial will be 10 am Tuesday in Greenwood cemetery, Tower City.

Visitation will immediately follow memorial services in the church.

Alice M. Taylor
Alice M. Taylor, 75, of New Cumberland, died Thursday, July 13, 2000 in Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Twp.

She was the retired owner/operator of the former Alice Taylor's Beauty Shop, New Cumberland. She was a member of Baughman Memorial United Methodist Church, Capital City Polka Dancers, and Fairview Twp. Fire Department Auxiliary. She enjoyed knitting.

She was born September 3, 1924 in Reedsville, PA to the late Freeman and Annie B. (Tressler) King.

The widow of Orion Sidwell Taylor, she is survived by a son, John O. Taylor of Wormleysburg; a daughter, Linda L. Bistline of New Cumberland; two step- daughters, Sally Auxer of New Cumberland and Jackie Snow of Camp Hill; a brother, Maxwell King of Mount Joy; two sisters, Letha Hershey of New Providence and Bunny Secrest of Manheim; two grandchildren, Richard Bistline of Reston, VA and Molly Taylor of Seattle, WA.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30am Monday at her church.

Visitation will be from 9:30 until time of service at the church.

Willaim P. Thierfelder
William P. Thierfelder, 68, of New Cumberland and formerly New York City, died Wednesday, June 21, 2000 at Harrisburg Hospital.

He was an Army Veteran having served in the Central Intelligence Corp. He had worked with the FBI, Bell Laboratories, Served as Vice President of Columbia Broadcasting System, Vice President of New York Yankees Baseball Organization, Senior Vice President of Finance and Administration of FOODCO, Senior Vice President of Bache, Halsey, and Stuart Brokerage Firm, NY, Director of Pennsylvania State Public Utility Commission, Director of Administration of Foley, Hoag, and Elliott Law Firm, Boston, and retired as an Administrative Director of Kenyon and Kenyon Law Firm, New York City. He was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland. He was devoted to daily Mass and a promoter of the Holy Rosary of Blessed mother Mary.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia King Thierfelder; a son, William K. of Hummelstown; three  daughters, Patrice Burke of Greensboro, NC, Michelle Holden of Winston Salem, NC, and Tamara Koval of Middletown; a brother, John of Oakdale, Long Island; and nineteen grandchildren

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1pm Friday at Chapel of St. Francis of Assisi in cemetery of the Gate of Heaven, Hawthorne, NY. Burial will be in cemetery of the Gate of Heaven.

Viewing will be from 6-8pm Thursday at Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., New Cumberland where recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7pm.

Tracy Lynn Green Turban
Tracy Lynn Green Turban, 30, of Lemoyne, died Saturday, May 13, 2000 at Holy Spirit Hospital.

She was a graduate of Red Land High School. She was an Office Administrator for Mid-Atlantic Building Systems Council, Harrisburg. She was a notary. She enjoyed snow skiing, the beach, her birds and cats.

She is survived by her husband, James H. Turban; a step-son, Daniel James Turban at home; a step-daughter, Ashley Jennifer Turban of Newberry Twp; her maternal Grandmother, Geraldine Green of Newberry Twp.; and her Paternal Grandmother,

Funeral Services will be held at 10am Wednesday at Trinity United Methodist Church, 421 Bridge Street, New Cumberland.

Viewing will be from 6-8pm Tuesday at Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., New Cumberland.

John T. Updegrove
John T. Updegrove, 56, of Miami, FL and formerly of Mechanicsburg, PA died Tuesday, 3/7/2000 in Miami VA Medical Center.

He was retired from the U.S. Army where he was the first Cumberland County resident wounded in combat in the Vietnam War and was awarded the Purple Heart, Air Medal w/ Oak Leaf Cluster, National Defense Service Medal w/ Oak Leaf Cluster, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Aircraft Crewman Badge, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was a life member of VFW Post 6704 and American Legion Post 109 where he was Past Commander, both of Mechanicsburg; he was a social member of VFW Post 7530, Lower Allen Twp.

He was born 1/13/44 to Ruth (Basehore) Lindner & the late Jack Updegrove.

In addition to his mother he is survived by a son Joseph T. Updegrove of Camp Hill; a daughter Jessica A. Updegrove of Mcallen, TX; 2 brothers, Michael Updegrove of Rhome, TX and Patrick Updegrove of Hamilton Square, NJ; a grandaughter and a step grandaughter.

Memorial services will be held 11:30 am Monday in the Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National cemetery, Hanover Twp., PA.

Visitation will be 10:30am until time of service Monday in the funeral home.

Edna F. Wagner
Edna F. Wagner, 87, of Camp Hill, died Monday, June 12, 2000 at Camp Hill Care Center, East Pennsboro Twp.

She was a retired clerk from the Accounting Department of the Holiday Inn, Mechanicsburg. She also served as a clerk for the Penn Harris Motor Inn, Camp Hill and served as secretary of the Rotary Club of Harrisburg working out of the former Penn Harris Hotel, Harrisburg. She served as a volunteer at the West Shore Public Library and attended St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Wormleysburg.

She was born April 21, 1913 in Wormleysburg to the late Foster E. and Izora (Buck) Filson.

A daughter, Odessa S. Shaw of Lancaster; a brother, Foster E. Filson, Jr., of Fort Myers, FL; and three grandchildren survive her.

A memorial service will be held at 7pm Sunday at Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., New Cumberland. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Enola cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-7pm Sunday at the funeral home.

Felia M. Wakefield
Felia M. "Sis" Wakefield, 82, formerly of New Cumberland died Sunday, June 4, 2000 in Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Twp.

She was a retired cafeteria cashier for the West Shore School District and a member of Baughman Memorial United Methodist Church, New Cumberland. She was the resident mascot and cheerleader at Country Meadows, Hampden Twp. during her stay there.

She was born 4/9/18 in Carlisle, PA to the late Frank E. and Felia M. (Adkins) Bobb, Sr.

She was the widow of Carl R. Wakefield and is survived by 2 sons, Timothy C. and Jeffrey R. of New Cumberland; 3  daughters, Linda Schuchman of Clermont, FL, Kathleen M. Vigliano of Mechanicsburg and Laura J. Beard of York; a brother Frank E. Bobb, Jr. of New Cumberland; 11 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter.

Memorial services will be held 1 pm Wednesday 6/7/2000 in her church. Burial will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Twp.

Visitation will be from noon until time of service Wednesday at the church.

Earl S. Warmkessle

Earl S. Warmkessel, 94, Bethany Village, Mechanicsburg, and formerly of Reading Monday, August 21, 2000 at his residence.

He was a retired Real Estate Salesman for the Sisk Company, Reading; a member of Trindle Springs Ev. Lutheran Church, Mechanicsburg; founder of Bethany Village Bowling League; was the valedictorian of his graduating class at Schuylkill Haven High School; enjoyed gardening and particularly roses.

He was the widow of Ada M. (Neiswender) Warmkessel. He was pre-deceased by his son Floyd E. Warmkessel.

He is survived by a daughter in law Margaret E. Warmkessel, Shiremanstown; two grand  daughters and three great grand  daughters.

Services will be 10:30 am Wednesday at Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland with the Rev. Timothy L. Hoffman officiating. Burial will be at 2pm Wednesday in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.

Viewing will be 9:30-10:30 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Care Assurance Fund at Bethany Village, 325 Wesley Drive, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.

George R. Weyandt
George R. Weyandt, Sr., 61, of New Cumberland and formerly of Altoona, died Thursday, July 20, 2000 at Polyclinic Medical Center, Harrisburg.

An Army Veteran of Korea and Vietnam, He was a warehouseman involved with sanitation for Rich Foods, Harrisburg. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 1001, Harrisburg. He enjoyed bingo, poker, and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.

He was born September 9, 1938 in Pittsburgh to the late Walter and Elizabeth E. Weyandt.

He is survived by his wife, Sarah Rebecca Ann Beere Weyandt; three sons, George R. , Jr. of New Cumberland; Barry N. of Carlisle, and Christopher Lynn Weyandt also of New Cumberland; three sisters, Elizabeth McGuire of New Cumberland, Shirley Weyandt and Dorothy White both of Altoona; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10am Monday at Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., New Cumberland. Burial will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Twp.

Viewing will be from 6-8pm Sunday at the funeral home.

Valda J. Youells
Valda J. Youells, 70, of Susquehanna Twp. and formerly of Ames, IA died Tuesday 8/1/2000 in Polyclinic Medical Center, Harrisburg, PA.

She was born 9/13/29 in Huron, SD to the late Earl & Carolyn (Fuglsang) McFadden.

She is survived by her husband Willis W. Youells; 2  daughters, Rhandi R. Youells of Susquehanna Twp. and Tammi K. Youells of Cedar Rapids, IA; a brother Robert McFadden of Hutchinson, KS; 2 sisters, Carolyn Bill of Brandon, SD and Lorlei McHune of Tulsa, OK; and 2 grandchildren.

Committal services will be at the convenience of the family.

Harry R. Zentmeyer
Harry R. Zentmeyer, Jr., 74, of Goldsboro, died Thursday evening, March 9, 2000 at Harrisburg Hospital.

He had retired from Willow Grove Naval Air Station where he served in the Army and achieved the rank of Chief Warrant Officer Grade 4. He also served in the Marine Corp during WWII, Pacific Theater. He graduated from William Penn High School, Harrisburg. He was a 50 year member of Harrisburg Lodge 629, F & AM, Zembo Temple, Harrisburg Consistory, York County Shrine Club, Ft. Washington Royal Arch Chapter, a 50 year member of the Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Forest #43, past president of the National Sojourners, Chapter 76, past Worthy Patron of Areme Chapter #192 of Eastern Star, retired member of the West Shore Umpires Assoc. and a former choir member of his church: Zion Lutheran Church, Etters, PA.

He had a keen interest in military precision drill teams. In 1962 he became Chief Ranger of Harrisburg Forest #43, TCL. Until his retirement as Chief Ranger Emeritus in 1999, his unit won seven US Championships. He also was a drill instructor to the Harrisburg Assembly and Mechanicsburg Assembly, Order of Rainbow Girls Drill Teams, receiving the Grand Cross of Colors of the Rainbow girls.

He was born october 19, 1925 in Harrisburg to the late Harry R. and Mary (Constantine) Zentmeyer.

He is survived by his wife, Clairbell Stone Zentmeyer; four sons, Stephen R. of Mechanicsburg, Kurt F. of Etters, Brock W. of Mt. Holly Springs, and Lance K. of Maineville, OH; a daughter, Saundra Kay Roldan of East Berlin, PA; two brothers, Gene F. of Mechanicsburg, R. Edward of Allentown; a sister, Doris J. of Dover; and nine grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3pm Monday at his church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Twp.

Visitations will be from 7-9pm Sunday at Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland with Masonic services at 8pm and from2-2:45pm Monday at his church.

Richard Conrad Abbott, 49, of Etters died Monday, October 30, in his residence.

He was a steelworker for Bethlehem Steel Corporation, Steelton Plant and a member of Steelworkers Union Local # 4442-1.

He was born 12/20/50 in Darby, PA. He is survived by his wife Darlene (Soter) Abbott; a daughter Laura Catherine Abbott, at home; his parents, Charles & Jane (Glendenning) Abbott of Newville; a brother Glenn Abbott of West Bloomfield, Michigan.

Clair R. Amsbaugh, Jr., 70, of Lower Allen Twp., PA, died Sunday, August 27, 2000 at Harrisburg Hospital, Harrisburg, PA.

He was born January 3, 1930 to the late Clair R., Sr. and Margaret E. Hinkle Amsbaugh.

He was a self-employed home improvement contractor in the West Shore Area of Greater Harrisburg. He was an Air National Guard veteran of the Korean War; he was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Lemoyne and its Fellowship Bible Class; he was a loving and devoted grand  Father.

He is surived by his wife Mae A. (Prosser) Amsbaugh; two sons, Rodney C., Lancaster and Roger L., Newville; three brothers, John, Elizabethtown; George, Mechanicsburg, Garry, York Haven; a step brother Robert Haas, York; four sisters, Henrietta Slaseman, York Haven, Elizabeth Sanger, Elloree, SC, Patricia Harbold, Manchester, Kathryn Millard, Etters; three grand children; nieces and nephews

Funeral services will be held 10:30am Thursday in his church with the Rev. Charles W. Sprenkle, his pastor, officiating. Entombment will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Twp.

Viewing will be 6-8pm Wednesday at Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland and 10:00 - 10:30am Thursday at his church.

Daniel Lee Angstadt, 54, of Duncannon, PA, died Sat., August 19, 2000 at Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Twp.

He was a former Field Engineer for AMP, Incorporated; an Air force Veteran of the Viet Nam War; attended Christian Life Assembly of God Church, Camp Hill; a member of Central Penn Repeaters Assn.; A.R.R.L. (American Radio Relay League); he was a amateur radio operator.

He was born June 7, 1946 in Reading, PA to the late William J. and Marion (Penberth) Angstadt.

He is survived by his wife Diane D. (DePalma) Angstadt; a brother David A. Angstadt, El Paso, TX; two cousins, Nancy West, Ft. Washington, PA, Susan Boyd, Georgia; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2pm Thursday at Christian Life Assembly of God Church, Camp Hill with the Pastor Jim E. Schambach Jr. officiating. Private burial will be in Friedens cemetery, Oley, PA.

Visitation will be 1-2pm Thursday at the church.
